They reduce the cap hit by assigning his trade as post June 1st. They'd still have to eat 11,856,111 this year and around $26 million dollars worth of dead cap over the next 4 years. Essentially they would be paying him 7.5 million dollars a year for the next 5 years to not play here.

The reason its been worse in the playoffs is because they are playing the best of the best offenses, and in this day and age of football a good defense is not going to stop a good offense. The Bills need to work on making their offense better than the Chiefs, not trying to stop them with defense.

If they try and do it post June 1st they will eat 37.5 million dollars over the next five years, including a 11 million dollar cap hit this year. I suppose they could try and do it post June 1st, but not sure how a cap strapped team is going to eat 11 million dollars in cap. Next year is a lot more likely. I wouldnt mind them moving on if they can get a WR back in the trade. I thoroughly think the guy is starting to be a pain but going to very hard to move him this year. They played in the same offense and Robinson averaged a yard more a carry and 6 yards more a reception. Johnson is a fine college player but Robinson has the most potential of any running back in the draft to be a top 5 running back in the league immediately. The kid is a blue chip prospect who would be a top five draft pick if he played any other position.

Very sad to see this one. Howard never knew the most intricate pieces of the sports he was covering, he wasn't diving into the analytics but man did he have the biggest heart. He understood the emotion of sports, and felt like a part of the family. I moved to Buffalo in 2001 and started listening to him while Empire was still on air. Since then I've moved back home, started my career, got married, and had children. A lot has changed but I never stopped listening to Howard. Well done Howard. Hope you enjoy a long retirement.

I get that. Except they literally did press and podcasts saying the exact opposite when they restarted the league. It was their selling point as to why they were different than other upstart leagues.
