  1. My mind has just officially been blown.
  2. Again, I am not sure they can cut him without putting themselves over the cap. They will need to work with the league to see if they can suspend him without pay for the rest of the year with cause.
  3. They likely cant cut him without going over the cap. I am not a sky is falling guy but even cutting him in the offseason will add 17.5 million dollars of dead cap to a team that is already 42 million over the cap.
  4. A couple things here. The Miller signing is quickly becoming the worst signing in Bills history. The only logical way to help his cap hit next year was to restructure, given his play and now this in no way can you do that now. You cant trade him because no one will want him. You cant cut him until 2025. Secondly, and probably the most pertinent thing here...why in the heck is the writer of the article mentioning anything about him being a star in the league? Just state he plays for the Bills, there is no reason at all to say how good he is at something given the content of the actual piece.
  5. Appreciate it brother. Hadnt seen that in the past. As much as I think Jones isnt the best guy he's done a pretty good job with the Cowboys considering he wasnt always a football guy.
  6. Not being a jerk, genuinely curious, where do you get this from? Because he hired Jones' company for the stadium?
  7. Watch out for Frank Smith of the Dolphins if Tom Telesco is allowed to hire another Coach. Has some roots with Telesco and the Chargers.
  8. He was just looking around to make sure Buddy Ryan wasn't there.
  9. Josh and Mahomes are in a league all their own.
  10. Right, but his UFA status is based on a void year. He has three void years built into his contract. They can either pay the cap hits the void years create, or add that money back as part of resigning him. If they dont make an offer his status is UFA, but he will have cap hits for three years running if he isnt resigned in the offseason. If they can find someone to trade for him as a salary dump they can save over $17 million dollars next offseason. To do that they'd likely have to send Von and a high pick to a team willing to take on the money. Otherwise they cant cut him without major cap implications until 2025.
  11. He had two feet down, the ball was tucked, and he took a third step. It was by rule a catch. The Refs are terrible, you have to know that going into a game. That said, you have to win in spite of it.
  12. Doesnt seem like he's had a terrible season but he is on the verge of 31 and is a headcase. Better off rolling with what we have.
  13. My kid went to football camp with his son. He happened to walk up and stand next to me while the kids were doing drills. I chatted with him for a few minutes. Didnt find him unapproachable or intense. Then again I wasnt asking him for an autograph, a picture, or why he doesnt win games in overtime. Tend to find if you treat people like human beings there isnt an issue.
  14. Hate to see them in actual real life relationships when things get a little tough.
  15. Hyde will be in a void year. Poyer, White, and Morse can all be released with minimal cap hit. Josh and Diggs can be restructured. The cap is not going to doom us all. They can get to 30 million dollars under the cap with a few moves. The sky isnt falling.
  16. Why would you dislike McD as a human being? You literally dont know the guy personally.
  17. I dont want Reich here but to say he is horrible is hyperbolic. He is about average in terms of coaching and had some good years in Indianapolis. I would imagine its likely over for him as a head coach, but you may see him as a QB or OC again.
  18. Before anyone says Bobby Slowik do you really trust your team to a guy who was coaching defense five years ago?
  19. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Phillips and Lawson both have a history of talking crap and playing it up for the camera. If you dish it out when you're winning you have to be able to take it when you're not.
  20. The only scenario I see where they get in is if they win out and Miami loses to both Baltimore and Dallas.
  21. The Miller signing was such a departure from how he usually did business in Free Agency and I think he let previous year misses get to him too much. Should have just stuck to his process, regardless of how well Von looked in the first half of last year. The contract is awful. As far as hits and misses along the dline and even on the oline I think its par for the course for GMs just magnified because they are losing right now. In the most important position he hit it out of the park.
  22. Hes a fine GM. He made a huge mistake signing Vonn Miller, a direct result of failing to sign JJ Watt and Chandler Jones in back to back years. He made a huge mistake not signing Hopkins this offseason, which may have been a direct result of the mistake in signing Miller. Outside of Miller the bigger contracts have void years. The cap situation isnt as bad as people think, they can clear space. It happens when you sign a QB for a quarter of a billion dollars.
  23. The irritating thing about the choice route tonight is both options were wide open. If Gabe runs inside the CB its paydirt. If Josh throws the post its paydirt. That said, thats three miscommunications in three weeks. There has been 1 every game for almost a month, not good.
  24. McDermott has done a ton for this organization. If you cant admit that then you're being incredibly myopic. I wont argue that Allen is more important to the organization, that goes without saying. My issue is, it is so easy for everyone here to say "we need to fire McDermott" or your "We can find ten more McDermott's in 1 off-seasons" and thats just not accurate. Changing the coach after one down season just because maybe it will make the situation better isnt always the way to go. What those of you who want him gone fail to say is, it could always get worse. I've said it before 521 coaches have been hired in the NFL, only 6% of them have won a Super Bowl. Its not that easy to hire a good coach. FIre the guy sure, but dont pretend he hasnt done a ton for this organization.
  25. What I dont want to do is take a chance on a young coordinator. If you move on from McDermott go get JIm Harbaugh.
