Just found this club on here, and was excited to see it. Been all over the map in my life weight wise. 6'1 and my highest was 295 junior year of high school. My lowest was 165 the year I got engaged to my wife. Never thought I'd get over 200 again, but stopped being a vegetarian, stopped working out daily, and started having a few beers. Six years later and I am 235 and my doctor told me last visit I need to fix it. Hoping to lose about 50 pounds, my goal weight is 185. Glad to see there is a place to track progress and see how everyone else is doing. Great job everyone who is losing it. My thirties has been a killer. Don't eat awful, but have a stressful job with a lot of hours and not a lot of opportunity for exercise.

Tonight is the Raiders last game in Oakland

Pretty sure a lot of people who do the rating of quarterbacks had Allen going first over all right before the draft. People were just as worries about Darnold's turnover issues in college as they were Allen's inaccuracies. Not sure why I am bothering here, becoming quite obvious by your multiple posts about how bad Allen is, you have your mind made up after one partial season. Brett Favre had more Interceptions than touchdowns in his first three years in the league, thank God Green Bay didnt quit on him. Plenty of Quarterbacks werent MVP candidates in their first season. Why dont you let this play out before you completely give up. Or possibly buy a Chiefs jersey? -
The Rosen Era Has Begun in Arizona

11 Ints. Not going to argue about Darnold being the better of the two right now, he most likely is. However, if you want to quote stats, need to be accurate. Furthermore you really need to look at ints per game and not the static stat alone. -
Along the same line I put the blame of his playmakers inability to do anything with the opportunities he gives them. Josh isn't perfect but there isn't a qb in the NFL that is. Difference is teams usually have a wideout that makes plays like Robert foster missed. McKenzie was horrendous today. Logan Thomas had a beautiful opportunity. Croom screwed the pooch and they have no running game to speak of. He is the only playmaker they have on offense right now and his stats are lopsided because of it. It could have easily been a three touchdown day but his warts are magnified because of the talent he has around him.

Really liked Woodside coming into the draft this year. Pretty much the opposite of Allen though. Dhaquille was turning into a star at Auburn and was projected as a 1st round pick before getting kicked off his team. Lots of issues with that guy but talent wasn't one. Mitchell is the guy a lot of teams seem to sniff around but I've never seen him play.

Will Daboll Be a HC Candidate?
thenorthremembers replied to BabyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only in Buffalo do people think that large multi-million dollar organizations choose their employees by NFL rankings. How often have you seen guys get jobs in the league just because they have worked with the person doing the hiring before? Not sure he gets a job, but I do think he gets an interview based on the people he has worked with in New England. -

Will Daboll Be a HC Candidate?

I feel like its pretty likely. I'd watch to see if Nick Casserio gets a GM position, I'd watch if there ends up being an opening in Miami with Chris Grier as the GM, and I'd also watch Green Bay. He isn't a hot name, but I could see him getting up to three interviews and possibly a new gig. -
Watched the game last night. Brady still looks good. The issue I saw was more about the depth and age of their secondary and lack of a pass rush. Additionally, their offensive scheme will only work in New Englad. If Mcdaniels goes anywhere else and tries to run that amount of pick routes he will be called on it play after play. It's amazing to watch them not get called on it.

Who is Rooting for Miami (sorta)?

I choose the scenario where we beat both the Patriots and dolphins and let the chips fall where they may otherwise. I will never cheer for either of them. If the Jets dolphins and patriots somehow ever ended up in a three way football match up Id cheer for the refs, and pray for a tie. -
Barnwell: Progress Report on 2018 1st Round QBs
thenorthremembers replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ill summarize for those who dont want to waste their time: Allen: He isnt as good as Tyrod Taylor, why did the Bills bother. (Comparing a rookie and a 8+ Year Veteran pretty much negates his entire argument) Allen Summary: He has to be more accurate, his wideouts aren't good but it's not their fault they have a 2nd in the NFL drop rate of 5.4 Darnold Summary: His offensive line is bad, his supporting cast, and coaches all suck. It isnt Darnold's fault they have a 4. whatever percent drop rate. Darnold needs a better supporting cast: Jackson Summary: Jackson is going to get hurt running so much, and he needs to stop turning the ball over so much Mayfield Summary: Baker is already a Franchise QB Rosen Summary: He really doesnt deserve all the negativity. He is on his 2nd coordinator and has so many injuries on his team. His scheme makes him suck, but man look at how good his footwork is. He will be so much better next year. Overall Summary: I really liked Mayfield, Darnold and Rosen coming out and didnt like Jackson or Allen.- 177 replies

Outside of Shady's 23 yarder against the Jets I haven't seen a skill player make something out of nothing the entire year. At some point a wideout or runningback needs to catch a 10 yard pass and turn it into 30. This team doesnt have that. What they do have is a kid at QB who is playing his balls off week in and week out without the likes of Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, David Njoku, David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown or Michael Crabtree. Good God they don't even have a Willie Snead on the roster. Has he missed some throws, sure has. I would desperately like to see more touchdown passes but the drops have been bad. He may be bad, he may be great but we won't find out for sure until they get some players on offense.

Mayfield is far and away the best of the bunch. Right now, Lamar Jackson comes in second, but I think it has a lot to do with the team he is on. Allen and Darnold are incredibly close at this point, and you can see why those were the two guys it seemed to come down to for Buffalo. I dont believe Rosen will ever become a top quarterback in the league. I didn't when he was coming out, and I dont now. Nothing about him looks to be anything more than average. When you look at first round quarterbacks analytics will tell you they hit at about a 30% success rate. When you apply that to this draft class, and assume Baker is one success, its likely that only one other guy is a success long term. I think Jackson will come to Earth, and think it comes down to Darnold or Allen. Otherwise, lets hope this is the 2004 draft class redux.

Zay Jones - Coming Around Nicely
thenorthremembers replied to PolishPrince's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's funny how perception is. People on this board cry anytime Sammy Watkins has any semblance of a good game, yet Zay, who is on pace to have a very similar type of season as Sammy has had the last three years is no good. He had a very bad game last week, terrible. But he is a serviceable number two wideout. He should never be the feature guy, but he can play in the league. That said, I have no problem saying goodbye to him in two years, just like I had no problem watching Watkins walk. -
I don't remember a season where I've seen less explosive type plays from the skill positions. Outside of Shady's long run against the Jets and Fosters deep touchdown catch I can't recall a play from someone other than Josh where they broke loose for a.long gain. They need speed at the runningback position.

Is Josh Allen your QB?
thenorthremembers replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You saw it that way because that's exactly how it was. Add that to the three drops by Jones today and you have a quarterback who is being asked to do everything perfectly or be called inaccurate. Had two drops in the endzone over the last two weeks. They get nothing out of the wideouts and runningbacks. Not sure why fans expect all passing yards to come from 80 yards bombs. -

Coach baseball every spring. -
Hey thanks for responding. I think you'll be surprised how much Tyrell Williams ends up getting. Wide outs are getting paid a ton and he may be the top wideout in this year's class. I can see him getting 14 million a year easy, especially with the cap going up to 190. Paradis is an 11 million to 12 million dollar a year player and Daryl Williams should command 8 to 9. They are each, the top or at the top at their position for available free agents.
