Bears and Dolphins request interview with Brian Daboll
thenorthremembers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
As a Bills' fan I am mentally preparing myself to see Daboll go to the Dolphins. The hire makes too much sense. He has worked with both Chris Grier, and Tua at times during his career. Moreover, hiring him away from the Bills hurts an in division rival. -
The team is owned by a 99 year old woman, he was lucky he wasnt offered a nickel and some yummy hard candies.

The issue with Howard is he went from being a regular neurotic guy on the outside looking in at celebrity to a neurotic celebrity. He got the hot wife, the therapist, and the celebrity friends and his show became bad.

I agree. Joe B keeps pounding on the table saying "You cant release Beasley because he is a zone beating expert." He is also going to be 33 years old in April. Has 300 less yard this year than last year, on the same number of catches, and looks like he is outta gas. Not to mention the distractions. Time to move on. Too old, too slow, and too expensive.

I am not a Flores fan, but if they had the stones to fire him they must have confidence they can make a big hire. Part of me wonders if they will try and swing a Dabo/Watson reunion.

Please go away. The worst part is you could literally see in his eyes he wasnt ready. Cant recall seeing that in a game before. My wife said He looks scared. -

For the long timers, I recall snow when I was a kid, but was the wind like this in the old days? Feels like this is new but maybe its just more of a story? -

Agreed but they have to revisit it in the offseason. Bass has had a much better season with him as the holder, but it shouldnt be that hard to find a punter that does both well. -
Broncos are in the market for a new head coach

Feel like Biememy may be in play for the Broncos. Colorado alum, has some ties to the current GM as well. -

Its fine if he goes to the games but why he is on the field is another story altogether. -
Jerry Hughes’ Last Regular Season Home Game?
thenorthremembers replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall
He had a strip sack of Tannehill 4 or so years ago that was one of the best defensive efforts Ive ever seen. Good on ya Jerry. -
Gronk on “Man vs the Arena” on his dirty hit on Tre White
thenorthremembers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
To summarize: What Gronk did was wrong and deserved a year suspension but because he let me party with him the act really wasnt his fault. The Patriots' culture is the real criminal. -
Giants GM Dave Gettleman to retire on Monday
thenorthremembers replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
No chance. There are around 30 other QBs in the league I'd take over Jones, and some of them are backups. He has arm talent, and is a good athlete, but he just doesnt have what it takes to be a franchise QB, Oline or not. The guy is responsible for an average of 1.75 turnovers a game since he came into the league. You cant win like that when you arent scoring enough to make up for it. Long term maybe he becomes a Tannehill type, but I think its more likely he ends up as a career backup. -
I think both men are entitled to their opinion, and I dont think what Hub said was wrong. Further than just the sound bite Hub said a player cant be an MVP if they dont continually put their team in the best position to win, that said Rodgers is 139-65 as a starter for the Packers so it's really hard to argue that despite his attitude he doesnt put his team in the best position to win games. Not to mention the team has the best record in football this year, the year Hub is voting on. As such, I think Hub's assertion that he cant vote for Rodgers because of his attitude doesnt hold a lot of water. On Rodgers, he is someone I've liked more and more. No matter where he stands on the issue at hand, I dont think someone should be held publicly as some sort of bad person just because he doesnt agree with the crowd, and make no mistake, thats the issue right now. We are in a very bad place as a society when we let our emotions get in the way of rationale thinking.
