What I was trying to say was whatever he needs to work on to get his accuracy improved , but I also watched some film and I saw him make some amazing throws , from the pocket & while on the move , I also heard some experts and his coache and they were talking about Allen and Mayfield and both QB’s the style of offense they were in and completion% , basically Mayfield 25% of the passing attempts were screens / short passes , where in Allen’s case and the style of offense he had to air it out more and ( basically) make things happen = carry the team

You can disagree all you want , but if the plan is to sit Allen and try to work on his mechanics/ footwork and what ever else it takes to improve his accuracy , then there is no way we’re starting the season with him being the next man up , so in my humble opinion we’re going with 3 QB’ s and like it or not Peterman will get a chance to compete with AJ for the starting job , Zapoticky on a PS ? I’m pretty sure we have bigger holes to fill in other positions ! BTW I’ll take that bet !!!

Dan Marino is another ( HOF’er ) BTW with same exact completion % as Allen ,

Me thinks we can use a guy like him on ST if he can excel and be a contributor ( for a late pick ) anything he does on defense ( IMO ) is all gravy, and if he becomes a starter later on well ( what a steal !!! ) !!!!

I would agree with you if We had Brady as our QB !! I’m assuming AJ will be a starter ( at least) week 1 , I’m hopping that with all the roaster moves / cuts maybe even trades we can still improve our WR corp No because some people here are still mad because he chose Baltimore ( and not us) last year !!!! so f$&@ him

Yes but one thing that we can all agree on is the level of competition ( defense) he will be facing is something that he will have to learn to digest ( quickly) he can not always rely on his athleticism to ascape the pocket like he did in AA division school ,

I’m far from being an expert on this whole subject , but I think it would make sense before he steps on the field #1- he has decent protection ( OL ) #2- maybe another weapon or two , a little more speed on the outside , and of course it wouldn’t hurt to have a good reliable TE , am I asking for a little too much ?

Actually it wouldn’t surprise me if Mayfield beats Tyrod , not sure about THE Darnold , Allen coming from a small school to NFL the speed of the game is on another level , and the most important IMO is the OL , we can’t have them perform like they did last year in LA for Peterman
