They didnt force him out, but if new ownership isn't willing to invest in you and your staff, and you have a dumbass for a GM, why would you stay?

New ownership did nothing to persuade him from leaving. They had their guy Rex Ryan, which worked out real well.

Could you blame him? He had a GM that marched to the beat of his own drum and didn't listen to the head coach's opinion. Whaley drafted EJ in 1st round, Dougie wasn't a fan. Whaley traded up to draft Sammy, Dougie wasn't a fan.

He's in the top 25% quartile of of current Qbs in the league...problem is, the team he is on is $hit...No o-line, no runningbacks...only AJ Green to throw to (when he's not injured).
