  1. Khari Lee made that great catch from Allen. Does he stay if he shows more flashes?
  2. So far, I agree. Perhaps the next game will solidify this. I hope to see a clear cut starter by the end of preseason. I really hope it's Allen!!
  3. This is nonsense. Number one is called the "false equivalence fallacy". Number two is a double dose of logical fallacies, the sweeping generalization fallacy and the appeal to popularity fallacy. Oh, and capitalizing words doesn't make an argument coherent or profound.
  4. I totally agree about the refs, especially seeing the Pats* benefit from referees subjective calls (PI, Holding, etc.) But as I mentioned to a poster last night, hopefully, the helmet rule will alter how players tackle; whereas, the catch rule is absolutely related to referee perception (subjectivity). In other words, the catching situation does not involve altering how players play and is at the discretion of officials. The aim of the helmet rule is to alter how players play. Let's see how it develops.
  5. I agree with this. Also, I think that over time players will adapt, as well.

  7. This is exciting. Last season, Tyrod threw to Watkins for a couple completions and that was it for excitement.
  8. True. I think pot transcends political, ethnic, and economic (class) boundaries. My ultra conservative, hyper-patriotic, Trump supporter cousin partakes daily, and so does my Latino, immigration activist, starving musician buddy. When they hang out together, it is always peaceful and fun! I think when it becomes legal for recreation in most states (although, parts of the south and mid-west will lag behind in legalization), that the NFL should change its policy.
  9. Before watching the first episode, I thought the Browns may win a few games this year because of the young and new talent, etc. After watching the first episode, no way. They will lose at least 14 games this season. Hue Jackson, Josh McDaniels, and Gregg Williams are the worst coaching trio in the league. They make Kay Stephenson's staff look like Lombardi, Landry, and Shula.
  10. My cousin, who works at the Davie Alehouse (across the street from TC), said she saw him there EVERYDAY last week! Said he had the boneless wings mild with extra ranch at least three times.
  11. Sean Penn needs to shut his mouth!
  12. His great grandad set the example. Cab Calloway- Reefer Man
  13. Almost reached Peterman's ineptness. 4 ints in the first half. In his defense, Montreal looks like a truly awful team in evert facet of the game.
  14. This is a bit absurd, considering that American Football has become an intricate part of our cultural framework. The argument that playing or not playing involves an individual choice decontextualizes the significant role football plays socially and economically in our culture. Furthermore, your claim about a "safe way" to tackle appears as a straw man argument, as nobody is asserting that there exists an entirely "safe way" to bring down a 250 lb animal going 20 mph. People are claiming that there are safer ways on a spectrum of potential harm. Also, nobody is claiming that people like you are "terrible" as individuals. I am sure you do some admirable things in your life, personally. The debate is about how to decrease injury while maintaining the basic characteristics of the sport. Finally, playgrounds are for children. A padded playground is safer for children. Obviously, your comment carries a subtext about our United States culture, in general (and we can all easily see what media you ingest). But relax and simply restrict your arguments, as fallacious as they are, to the topic of American Football and not how our entire culture is becoming soft, weak, bleeding heart pussies.
  15. Like many, my main concern involves how referees will enforce this rule. I imagine that it will go uncalled many times; but, at some point, it will be a huge factor in a crucial moment of a game. In other words, a Patriots game where an opposing star defensive player is ejected. Sort of like the catch rules, it can be used to determine / influence outcomes of games.
  16. I think he taking it way back to paintings of the Virgin Mary before (or pre) the Italian "Madonna" paintings of the 5th century.
  17. Check reddit for streams of preseason games. Usually it will have some.
