  1. Headline is deceptive. All he says is that he is concerned with helping the team win. He did say " I hope he does develop." So it is not like he will work well on slippery roads (he is not "Anti-Lock").
  2. Will just repeat my earlier post in the other TE thread
  3. Maybe Beane wants to field 11 TEs on the field on offense at the same time. Enough with the TEs already!! This is in no way an attack on Moral Stephens. Just want register a protest on the “Moral”ity of signing yet another TE.
  4. There are some things the young man does do well. Funnily enough, his limitations come from not having the initial athleticism and power to win a few one-on-one battles every game (which was thought to be his strength pre-draft) and has nothing to do with his shoulder which kept him off the field as a rookie. That said he does play a role and appears to be improving. He will b e well motivated - this being his contract year. So I am cautiously optimistic. Another important point: Ed Oliver will complement him perfectly since he has that twitch that Lawson lacks.
  5. I am sure you are right - but there is a part of me that wants to believe Football is over-coached and can be made simple
  6. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-2019-here-are-seven-trades-that-make-sense-now-that-the-draft-is-over-including-a-patriots-blockbuster/ I would rather do the Darron Lee or Solomon Thomas trades than the Clowney trade. And even pay a bit more than what the Bengals and Bucs have been projected to pay. Each is worth at least a 4th rounder.
  7. I dont want to give up a top 20 pick but the trade makes sense for a low first rounder. I would be ecstatic with a second rounder + Lawson for Clowney. The compensation to the Texans is only half the issue. What to pay Clowney is another issue. The sticking point of the contract impasse with the Texans is what Clowney thinks he is worth. I DO NOT want to give him Khalil Mack money. So long as he agrees to 50-55 mill guaranteed, I'd be all for it. But maybe the Texans are already offering him that much. Any writeups on how far apart Clowney and the Texans are? Then we can see if there is a sweet middle ground where we can pay more than Texans and still make it work.
  8. You know what? Just yesterday I was wondering if Duke should participate and Boom! I see it here today! I believe he may be better than the entire rookie class - so he has a chance to shine. It can be a Tyree J to Duke W. show. I am salivating at two battles in particular: Oliver vs. Ford (predicting a draw) Joseph vs. Singletary (predicting Singletary wins because he is so elusive and Joseph is so "straight liney" in his tackling). Singletary will be good for Joseph's development.
  9. What Dya guys think about Derrick Morgan? He has played 3-4 as well as 4-3. He was a leader on the Titans team and he prolly has a couple of years left in the league. Fun fact: his teammates swear by his cordon blue chef wife’ vegan creations.
  10. Methinks you hv the cause and effect all wrong. That article was the reason behind the post in the first place.
  11. This. Was so disappointed last year with coverage of JA. Why would Oliver and Ford be any different? Already prepared for an overdose of Raiders, Pats and Jets.
  12. Strange. Normally I wouldn’t be worried but all these TEs coming thru OBD concerns me. Maybe all is not well between Knox and the Bills. let us hope not. Edit: Maybe think the Bills saying other 7 signed may be a tactic to pressure Knox into signing quickly
  13. Thanks for posting. Really not much info there - so not worth paying to read:) Just for comparison here is my prediction from 10 days ago (new guys are in bold) QB (3): Allen, Barkley, Jackson or Anderson RB (5? McCoy, Gore, Yeldon, Singletary, Murphy WR (7): Brown, Foster, Jones, Beasley, D. Williams, McKenzie, Roberts TE (3): Kroft, Knox, Croom OL (9): Morse, Ford, Dawkins, Nsekhe, Long, Spain, Teller, Feliciano, Waddle DE (4): Murphy, Lawson, Hughes, Yarbrough or D. Johnson DL (4): Phillips, Phillips, Oliver, Lotuleilei LB (6): Edmunds, Milano, Stanford, Joseph, Lorax, Lacey CB (5): T. White, K. Johnson, T. Johnson, L. Wallace, EJ Gaines S (4): Hyde, Poyer, Neal, Bush ST (3): Bojorquez (P), Haushka (K), Ferguson (LS) I have Murphy - he has DiMarco (Murphy can contribute on ST can DiMarco do that?) I have an extra WR (McKenzie), he has an extra TE (Fisher) - Again McKenzie contributes on ST - Can Fisher do that? That said I do like the Fisher signing (which happened after my mock 53). But Fisher has to beat out Croom (Pegs' daughter's BF) to make it if he cant contribute on ST or there has to be an injury. I have an extra lineman (Waddle) and he has an extra DB (Neal). I was in two minds about that and I agree a case can be made to keep Neal over the 9th lineman. Bottomline - I do not think the fortunes of the team will be significantly altered if we had DiMarco, Fisher and Neal over Murphy, MacKenzie and Waddle. Our guess for these 3 spots is as good as these media guys. Please - this is not a diss on Sal Maiorana - who I have enjoyed reading for nearly 3 decades and who is very underappreciated relative to TBN writers. But he would be the first to tell you that 49-50 of the spots are already set in the 53 this year - so there is no major bombshell. There will be no major TC battle in the offing for a spot on the roster. Now starter battles, on the other hand, is a different animal this year. While the Defense appears to be set (except for the 2nd CB spot), the WR, TE and OL starter spots are there for the taking.
  14. Except Beane appeared to doubt Rapaport's source was Ansah's representation. If credible, the source was likely someone from the Seahawk organization.
  15. Wait Wait. This was Ian Rapaport (who has been known to be wrong before). Ansah may not be a Seahawk yet. Bills can easily beat 5.5 mill guaranteed if they want.
  16. sign him just to keep him away from the Pats. Otherwise prefer to see what Kroft, Knox, Fisher, Croom and Sweeney can do.
  17. It is even odds whether shady has anything left in the tank. Last season everyone was running against Miami but Shady couldn’t do much. If it the OL that was to blame, shady will bounce back. If not he will make way for Gore Yeldon and Singletary.
  18. Beane does not get enough credit for the Nsekhe signing. 2 yrs 10 mill with 6.2 guaranteed for a higher rated tackle than Veldheer who is being signed by He Who Can Do No Wrong to a 1 yr 6.5 mill deal
  19. I like it. These media guys have been doing “unrefutable” posts without a valid source for years. Somebody needs to call em out once in a while. Good one Beane! speaking out now will make reporters think twice before posting unverified drivel at least with respect to Bills since Beane might come after them. the flip side is that these media members will paint Beane and the Bills in bad light but they are not really kissing up now are they?
  20. The only guys with enough money to sign Ansah are the Bills, Pats and Seahawks. Ravens, Saints and TB dont have the cap flexibility. Pats will be notoriously stingy. So, I suspect it will be between the Seahawks and the BIlls. I am guessing a 3 yr 27 mill deal (about 15 guaranteed) which could get to, say, 45 mill with incentives.
  21. You just drafted Ed Oliver, Mate. Why do you need McCoy? That said the trade is quite good if the 2020 second rounder is there. But I had made the same mistake a while ago when I suggested a 3rd round pick for McCoy's contract. The point is, TB does not HAVE to pay him. They can just cut him. And nobody will ever give a 2nd rounder for Lawson. And we also need a DE - that is why we are trying for Ansah. You are depleting the limited personnel we have at the position by offering Lawson. That is likely because you are assuming Lawson and McCoy are interchangeable - they are not - one is a DT another a DE. That said, we can trade Lawson if we get Ansah - but I doubt TB will give up anything better than a 4th for that. Lawson has not entirely set the league on fire.
  22. Nobody I repeat Nobody is pushing Croom off the roster. Dya not know who his GF is?
