  1. It's going to be Mahomes or Rodgers but Allen is 3rd.
  2. McDermott should challenge the spot here.
  3. Man if Lock makes a better throw Wallace probably picks that.
  4. You must have missed that atrocious pick at the end of regulation. Mariota is good backup because he can get the Raiders close in that spot and he's a good runner but he can't pass with any consistency. largely it's a tough break for the Raiders there that they're starting quarterback got a groin strain but the Raiders can't situationally defend and the charge of special teams continues to be terrible. these teams aren't ready to make the playoffs this year but I think both of them are close, especially the Chargers.
  5. I don't think quarterback evaluation is anywhere near a simple as this. I'm a little more forgiving on teams for quarterback misses because it is such a Gamble. I take the mindset that you have to know when to jump off of a quarterback more than the mindset that you have to get exactly the right prospect that succeeds the first time through. Like it doesn't take 3 years to figure out that a player like Mitch trubisky or a player like EJ Manuel or a player like Drew Lock isn't very good. It cycles: the player comes in with limited success, the league makes the adjustment, and then the player can either adjust or not. The mistake isn't picking the guy who fails. The mistake is sticking with what doesn't work too long. The biggest thing with it is that the amount of guys who are going to succeed no matter what is like three in NFL history. We knew that Manning, Elway, and luck were going to succeed no matter what. In most cases in most years, the consensus can pretty much land on the quarterbacks who have the best chance for success. It doesn't mean that every single one of these prospects works out, the modern scouting is so good we know who the best three or four guys are because even media guys can watch tape. most often It's a combination of prospect and environment that makes a quarterback successful, but you can also have good environments and a guy whose game just doesn't translate for whatever reason. I think there's two of those in the league right now. But Buffalo, Baltimore, and the changes in Cleveland and a little less recently Arizona put that into perspective in a fascinating way, especially Arizona. We really don't know how good of an environment Rosen actually had because Arizona's front office not only jumped off of Rosen and Wilkes after one year, but took a lot of criticism for doing it. They decided they were in position to get the next number one guy, liked him better, and fix the environment by hiring Kingsbury. This equation is kind of where the Jets are at. We know that Adam gase isn't any good, the Jets have a new general manager who is going to jump off gase as coach, and chances are they are going to have to decide what they think of Darnold as a prospect plus whatever return they can get in a trade compared to Trevor Lawrence. Miami also needs to make that decision with regards to Tua. The difference is that in Miami, anyone who watches the league can tell that the environment there is good. Figuring out whether Tua can pan out into a long-term starter for them is a bigger decision that attempting to make one wild card playoff run because they are not going to be in position to get another shot like they are now. In the NFL, environments can change quickly if an organization makes a good coaching hire. We saw that here when Buffalo went from Rex to Sean McDermott. the team that couldn't get disciplined enough to stay out of its own way under Rex ends up going to the postseason in the first McDermott year. Even in a playoff year, they made the decision to attempt to jump off of Taylor because they knew he wasn't good enough. Peterman fell on his face, but that doesn't mean the decision was wrong because the organization and didn't believe that they could win with Taylor and frankly they were right.
  6. Pittsburgh's defense is an overwhelming Force that can stop anyone. We all saw that Sunday. They basically get two turnovers a game and every yard against them is tough sledding. The issue has become teams figuring out how to defend their extremely limited offense. big Ben is a little too old and a little too injured to put his body on the line the way he's used to, and they can't run the ball at all, so Pittsburgh is heading in a direction where they're going to play a lot of games like Sunday's, where teams are going to be able to match the defensive performance just because they know what to do and because Pittsburgh isnt versatile on offense. The Johnson interception is something I can literally picture Buffalo doing in practice with their defensive backs and linebackers. I still think Pittsburgh is really good, but I don't know how far they can go being so one-dimensional.
  7. Denver has scored under 20 seven times in 12 games where they've actually had a quarterback start including the last three. They also turn it over more than anybody else in the league.
  8. The Denver Post since my quote was obviously written by somebody who doesn't watch the league. It's a criticism that I make of fans here all the time. Although that guy obviously didn't watch Monday night football last week. Denver isn't a good team, but it's mostly because Lock has been atrocious. He gets picked off 1 out of every 25 passes or 4 percent of the time. Big picture of this is a buffalo gets up and takes care of business they win this game. It's a situation that has good playmakers in Fant, Jeudy, Hammer, and Sutton next year. It also has a league average rushing attack with multiple guys and it's pretty well set up for when they actually get a quarterback in there. Their defense is a little better than the numbers indicate. It's league average in yards, and a little above that in yards per play. They just get hung out on the field a lot because Denver's offense is terrible.
  9. Although Baltimore probably wins by 14 if McSorely doesn't play.
  10. Lamar has generated 250 yards of offense and 3 TDs on 9 runs and 7 completions. He's ridiculous yet unconventional.
  11. I really wanted Buffalo to take Dobbins...
  12. The corner platoon could be match up specific also, or it could just be keeping both guys legs fresh. Wallace hasn't been that healthy this year but this is the first time we've seen that Platoon. I'm surprised at some of this and not surprised by some of it. one thing I haven't really seen but that I can see is true now is that Johnson is very much a player that doesn't come off the field when he's healthy. With the ends and tackles I think that there's a limited amount of guys that they trust right now. we didn't see anybody get the percentage of snaps that Oliver is getting last season. Buffalo played the platoon with star, Oliver, Jordan Phillips and I forget who the fourth player was. but they were running 52/48 in the middle of the defensive line last season. At end, Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison are obviously the past rushers, but it is really good to see AJ getting more snaps out there. It speaks to how good buffalo utilize their 2020 draft resources when they traded the first round pick for Diggs and four of the five from the second through the sixth round have played double digit games. The only guy between round two and six that hasn't gotten a lot of time is the covid quarterback. Below all that is hodgins, who may or may not make it and was an extra shot pick at wide receiver along with Gabriel Davis and Dane Jackson, who filled in and showed flashes. I think being should get some executive of the year consideration with with this class because I don't think there's a team that has deeper utilization of the 2020 rookies and is as good.
  13. They don't want him to get hurt. Tough sto there but take the 3 and go up 2 possessions.
  14. I mean yeah Pittsburgh is 11-1 for a reason and that's the first drive theyve really finished all game. Hopefully the offense can respond here.
  15. Picks are only legal within 1 yard. I don't know how the refs missed that one.
  16. Can't turn it over like that, but gotta finish a drive here.
  17. They gotta relieve some of the pressure here. The line isn't holding up in the empty set.
  18. I think the more likely thing is moving hurts for capital to help build a team if he plays decently but seeing him play one read and run and barely scraping a win against taysom Hill doesn't encourage me.
  19. I don't think Wentz is moving for what we've seen out of Hurts today. It's too coat prohibitive for Philly right now.
  20. Vegas just can't defend anyone but neither they or the Colts should scare anyone in the playoffs. San Francisco is playing like a team fresh out of the race so I'm not going to read into Washington. Washington has 2 TDs on defense. Pick and a fumble return.
  21. Incredible run by Taylor there.
  22. Yeah. I thought he looked really pedestrian last year when they won 4 of 5 of his starts but people predicted he'd do what Allen ended up doing this year. Denver really needs to actually use some capital on the position.
  23. A lot of people thought Lock would be much better.
  24. Use a Mahomes dropkick so they can't return it.
