  1. I just don't think we have any way of knowing right now. It's hilarious to me, listening to Bills content creators discuss the OL after Preseason Game 1, when our Top 7 didn't play and OL8 (likely Ford) only played a handful of snaps. I guess we can analyze Kromer's concepts and Doyle, who's still a project.. but everyone else is a cut or PS body. This OL, on paper, is a 10-20 group on any given day. They have the potential to be Top 10 if Saffold is healthy and Bates/Brown make any kind of jump.
  2. I think we need to come to terms with the likely outcome that Poyer plays out this year and walks in the offseason. We can't pay him anywhere close to what some of these guys are getting, and keep Oliver/Knox. I don't even know if we can keep Edmunds, let alone Poyer. I get that James situation is different than Poyer's due to age, but I just don't see how we can give him much of any bump in pay and still manage the cap effectively. I saw a mock draft this morning that had us taking Jordan Battle (S) Alabama in RD1 and an IOL from Georgia in RD2. Makes perfect sense to me.. Draft Poyer and Saffold's replacements and get Bernard ready to take over for either Edmunds leaving in FA or a trade of Milano to afford Edmunds.
  3. I’m already bored with the Joe Burrow hype. At least Herbert, Jackson and Murray are exciting to watch. He’s very good. Maybe after this year, I’ll be a believer. Or maybe after this year he’ll still be the guy who has a ton of weapons but got carried by his defense and FG kicker in the playoffs.
  4. You pay a young, disruptive force on the DL, even if it’s from the DT position. Oliver is the only guy I’m at 99.9% sure the Bills re-sign if he plays like we think he will. Positions teams shouldn’t even think twice on paying.. QB, OL, WR and Pass Rushers. If that means letting Poyer and Edmunds both walk, so be it.
  5. Maybe.. Not to get political, simply ratings-wise speaking.. The Five on Fox is a massive hit. They had a major shake up with Juan Williams leaving the show and the ratings have gone up with his replacement(s).
  6. I have it on at the office most days. It's fine. I don't mind Erdahl, but McCourty seems out of his element early on. Like anything though, it requires chemistry.. It will also help when they actually have real football to talk about.
  7. If we’re only picking 1, it’s Neal. We just gave him a new contract and he’s a key special teams player aka Bills version of “The Golden Ticket”.
  8. I voted no, and with all due respect - the “play one or two series this week and rest Week 3” makes zero sense to me. So the starters play two series and then don’t see live bullets again for 2.5 weeks?
  9. He’s at a premium position. If you draft a guy and can stash him until time runs out, you do so. Look at Hodgins .. in the program for 2 years and is now pushing for a roster spot with one more cheap year on his deal after this year. We need as many dirt cheap contract contributors as possible with Josh Allen graduating from his rookie contract moving forward.
  10. If, and only if, the Bills are ultra-confident in McKenzie and Shakir, maybe you cut Crowder and go with Hodgins as WR5 and Kumerow as WR6. Slot WR is a big part of our Offense, so that’s a risk given Crowder is a reliably good slot - but if he’s currently WR5 (looks like he is) and you’re confident in the young guys, keep Hodgins and then you always have the option of signing OBJ during the season as well.
  11. Ford could potentially bring back a late round pick due to his draft profile and the general desperation every NFL team has for OL depth. That's really it, imo. There are so many good WR's that Hodgins & Crowder would get added to a 53, but I don't know that anyone is trading anything for them.
  12. When healthy, I think the Bills have Top 100 guys in Josh, Diggs, Poyer, White and Von. Josh Allen should be number 1, but I'm not sure when the voting was done? If during the season, he won't be. If done after the season, he should be. I think we have a ton of 100-200 guys.
  13. One thing about this draft class, compared to last years… Last year our impact picks were two EDGE and a very raw, elite traits Tackle prospect. Followed by another raw, traits Tackle prospect. Two late round picks got scooped off the PS. Hamlin buried on the depth chart but people are high on him. Lots of development in the positions drafted last year. EDGE and Tackle typically aren’t just plug, play and look amazing, unless you draft Top 10 guys. This year we drafted positions that can plug, play and make an impact … CB, RB, LB, WR with a Punter.
  14. Watching how we used him, I can’t imagine he’s not a guy who gets legit playing time this year. Inside/Outside versatility, along with the ability to be used in that Woods/Kupp lead blocker role in the run game. He looks like WR4 to me, with Crowder (if he makes the team) being slot depth / McKenzie insurance.
  15. I mean, sure, that could happen .. but I don’t know why it would. He’s been a camp standout and everyone said “ok, let’s see what he does in a game”, and then he balled out in the game. At this point, he’s trending towards legit depth WR. I have to think he knows, whether communicated to him directly or indirectly, that the month of August determines if he makes this team. So far, so good.
  16. Get a non-premium position poached, or lose a guy like Wildgoose at a premium position .. ok.. No one was treating him like Benford last year before we tried to stash him. You can’t be losing a guy with the potential of Hodgins. JMO, but there’s levels to this.
  17. Those Chad Hall boxing videos though.. Thats part of their side work. A couple jabs/hand fight work and then dip the shoulder. Davis, Shakir, Hodgins … my goodness, if Beane doesn’t draft a mid-late round WR and CB every draft, it’s a crime against humanity at this point.
  18. For preseason purposes, in Crowder’s situation, he needs to catch that. It wasn’t a great throw, but Crowder can’t be missing that tough catch when he’s already lost the starting role to McKenzie and is fighting off Shakir and Hodgins coming for his snaps - Shakir especially.
  19. On a team with high priced superstars at QB, WR, EDGE and CB … you have to make tough decisions. One of them is who re-sign.. Can’t just pay a guy like Poyer, otherwise that deal would already be done. The other is asset allocation. And I’m not sure we’re at the point any longer where we can afford to risk losing talented young players with multiple years on cost controlled contracts, just because we want to have ST’s-centric guys in Jones, Matakevich and Kumerow. We’ll see how the next two preseason games, and corresponding practices, go.. but if I had my way, a lot of thought would go into the idea that those three would be replaced by Blackshear, Spector and Hodgins. Give me the RB4 that can actually play RB/return kicks. Give me a young backup LB on teams that can actually play LB, especially if we may have to move off one of Edmunds or Milano after this year. And Hodgins will be a WR5/6 for another team if we don’t make him WR5/6 here. Young, cost controlled talent is more important than ever now, and guys like Hodgins and Benford are 53 or another team territory. I checked Twitter and yesterday during the game and those two were being discussed by legitimate NFL accounts and reporters. Not sure about Hodgins, but Spector and Blackshear strike me as guys who can definitely be solid on ST’s.
  20. Easy. One is the back up. The other is Josh’s good friend.
  21. Benford and Hodgins are either on our 53 or someone else’s. Zero chance either makes it to the PS.
  22. Dems had a chance to prove this isn’t for lower income and middle class Americans by voting for the amendment that limits the new audits to those making over $400k. They all voted against it.
  23. Perhaps. We’ll see where this goes. So far, the side that believes, 100%, that he had boxes full of top secret nuclear documents that were a risk to national security, have fallen for six years of “we got him now” stories … so, maybe you should holster the rubes talk until we know more.
  24. Everything they warned us Trump was, they are. Example #127
  25. That year they had a really good DL that was abusing our OL. In terms of matchups… they’re just a bruising power run team that we’ve had to try to stop with our finesse defense. When we struggle to, we have to commit more to the run, and then they can just run crossers behind the linebackers all day. Im not as worried about that with the new look DL. Von, Rousseau, Lawson, Jones and Oliver are all above average run defenders.
