  1. Give me Darnell Wright. Stud RT for the next decade. Allows Spencer Brown to develop as swing Tackle and perhaps eventually challenge Dawkins at LT if we want to move him inside down the line. Value-wise, I just don’t understand how people can advocate for a LB. Sure, it may be a need .. I’d argue making sure we give Allen the best OL we can is a larger one. Also.. look at the LB options that were out there for us if we decided to replace Edmunds that way. Look at the Tackle market. Far easier to fill in LB than OL.
  2. RACISM!!!! Obviously that’s why Mahomes, Watson, Kyler etc have the contracts they have.
  3. The void years stuff is starting to make me cringe. I get that we haven’t really done much on that front, but with Von and Tre both on big deals coming off injury.. I don’t love the idea of doing too much on that front. Then again, the Jets are feeling just fine tacking on multiple 20M void years to Rodgers contract, so maybe the cap is going to go up that much.
  4. But that’s the issue .. reports make it sound like they want multiple Day 2 picks and won’t take on any of the salary. If I had to guess, Beane’s offer is something like a 5th and next years 6th if AZ unloads the entire cap hit on us, up to a 4th and next years 5th if they eat some cap. Using Cooks trade, acknowledging that Hopkins is a much better player. Id be surprised if Beane, or anyone, ever entertains a Day 2 pick when, even if they eat some cap, the receiving team still has to accommodate 10M+ somehow.
  5. DL is a bigger need than MLB.
  6. Im all for Offense, and Allen is not Stafford - so I’m not saying we’d become the Rams, but this is why the Rams are in a 2-3 year rebuild after going for it. Trading tons of high picks for massive contracts. And you can say “well, they won..” Ok.. sure.. they also didn’t play in the current AFC. We desperately need Beane to hit on cheap talent this draft. Soo.. let’s trade away both Day 2 picks and eat 19M? So we have RD1 and Three Day 3 picks… in a Draft where the Chiefs have like 11. We’re likely adding void years onto Hopkins contract and/or trading Oliver to free up 10M and get back a Day 3 pick. So now we have no money and still could use RT competition, a couple DT’s, a LB and S/CB depth depending on what we do with Benford. Id LOVE Hopkins on this team, but not to the extent where I want Beane to get straight up laughed at my trading away multiple Day 2 picks and eating that entire contract. That’s insanity… and the Cardinals GM is likely not making a great first impression amongst his peers.
  7. A 2nd and a 3rd for that contract is insane. Id be tempted if the price was a 3rd (singular), given they seem to be requiring the team receiving Hopkins to take on his salary. Anything more than that, and their GM can have fun with Hopkins making his life miserable all year.
  8. The one team that took a chance on him, you want him to do them like that? He’s, at best, the 4th QB in the AFC and I can bet more GM’s than not would rather have Herbert or Lawrence, which drops him to 6th in a fight with 40 year old Rodgers. He has zero self awareness and now comes off like a complete sideshow.
  9. I’m gonna go ahead and assume you misheard/misinterpreted Tasker. He and Chris Brown were 100% talking about the possibility and mentioned how nobody has told them anything and it’s been extremely quiet… followed by “and then usually when stuff happens”. Also, why would Tasker be more connected than anyone else? Because he’s a former player, Beane is giving him text messages updates?
  10. Weird .. because when I had OBL on, they were certainly entertaining the apparently made up online stuff.
  11. My best guess (if any of what we hear is true) is that the new AZ GM is potentially a bit over his head in asking for too much and will either come down or risk creating an environment where Hopkins has to force his way out. Re: Tasker today .. They also said it’s been ultra-quiet and that’s usually when stuff happens.
  12. “or anyone else in the NFL”….. ?
  13. So.. all that Hopkins wants to win and is willing to work on the contract piece… not so much?
  14. If what is being semi-reported is true… and Arizona doesn’t want to eat any cap, that new GM is going to have to lower his expectations and take a later pick or deal with a disgruntled star on his hands all season. Not sure how many teams, that Hopkins will work with, he sees out there with bucketloads of cap space.
  15. Yea, I’m sure he desperately wants to be the KD of the NFL rather than be a legend on one of the few teams that can dethrone them. And, fwiw, Kelce is “the guy”.
  16. Oh, yea, that was definitely under the assumption we trade for Hopkins. I could still see WR at 27 depending how it falls, and depending on how the FO views Davis long term.
  17. Or what if Zay Flowers is there at 27. Gaine was at his pro day today. Could Buffalo take Zay Flowers and then look to move Gabe on Day 2 for someone who maybe didn’t get what they were hoping for in the draft?
  18. Ravens, in an attempt to further make their fanbase lose their minds …
  19. It’s a pointless leak, but it also means the Cardinals have to take what they can get. Not too many teams Hopkins is willing to play ball with on a contract negotiation are able to clear the cap space needed without getting wild with the cap. Bills happen to be a team that’s either A) willing to get wild or B) have a conveniently movable player who’s cap hit frees up 10M.
  20. In recent memory … I guess id say the Bills were pretty well linked with the EDGE sweepstakes last off-season. We just ended up with the guy we never saw coming.
  21. I guess… RB is a spot you can plug and play. Not sure why we need a guy to learn for a year behind Cook, Harris and Hines.
  22. Another team is involved. We’ve never heard anything really about recent signings (maybe some watch for this guy stuff), but that is between Buffalo and the player... Not Buffalo, Arizona, and the player.
  23. If AZ isn’t eating any cap, I can’t imagine much is going back to them in return. Maybe a Day 3 pick this year and late Day 3 next year? If we’re looking at the Cooks/Dallas trade. Have to imagine Oliver is being moved or Beane was never that worried about kicking cap down the road. Not many other options out there for us to make it work unless they surprise move off Morse.
