  1. McKenzie very well could go somewhere else and do nothing .. or, he could look good and we’re all wondering why it didn’t work here. Bottom Line, it doesn’t matter. It didn’t work here. He wasn’t really a fit with Josh Allen. We have Shakir and now Harty, both guys that would take snaps away from McKenzie this year and both can get vertical and track the ball down the field … something McKenzie was iffy at. Factor in the drops and inconsistencies.. Great dude … but it was time.
  2. Honestly sad to see him go. It was inevitable after last year, and had to happen, but he’s a good guy and was one of the last remaining pieces from when we picked Josh Allen and turned this franchise around.
  3. I’d rather Allen have a top 3 OL in the league, along with Kelce, MVS, Juju, Toney, Moore etc., over what we gave him last year.
  4. Bengals signed S Nick Scott, now closing in on a deal for Taylor Rapp. Basically Bates/Bell out .. Scott/Rapp in
  5. They would’ve beaten KC if not for Chris Jones, so it’s a valid point. CIN was playing at a high level down the stretch, but KC’s healthy DL was able to get after them enough to escape. That game probably highlighted for a lot of people that Ed Oliver has zero reason to be on this roster in ‘23 at a 10M cap hit, but without Von and Daquan, and we might as well have declared Phillips out with his dangling arm, was definitely a lot to overcome… especially with Tre off injury, no Hyde and Poyer falling apart.
  6. Blockbuster never felt they needed to change to fend off Netflix, yet here we are. I don’t hate running it back, as I do think this defense - when healthy - is probably a Top 5 unit. But, here we stand.. the Offense is still lacking around Allen when compared to KC, CIN and MIA, with NYJ right behind us. Doesn’t mean it stays that way .. but as of today, that’s where we’re at.
  7. Consistency is definitely the differentiator. Allen’s high is higher than anyone, but he doesn’t have the same baseline Mahomes has week to week. It’s also true that Mahomes has had better coaching, protection and weapons than Allen every year.
  8. It even bleeds over into podcasters and fans. “Who’s our MLB!?” ”Who’s our DT4” What!?… How about we address WR2 and RT and deal with the fact we may not have Top 100 picks and paid players at almost every rotational position on the defense?
  9. Do we know for sure that was him and not another Damar Hamlinesque body double?
  10. Their OL, after a shaky start, was pretty good until they got ravaged by injuries this past season.
  11. Yes, Chiefs backs also run against light boxes. Why is that relevant to re-signing Singletary?
  12. Ok. Singletary runs against light boxes, which is a big part of why he has a strong YPC.. and yes, he is slippery and elusive. That said .. He’s a mediocre receiving back, does not have breakaway speed, fumbles at a high rate and isn’t a power back capable of taking short yardage situations away from Allen consistently. If we’re going to spend on a RB in FA, he has to take wear and tear off Allen. Singletary does not do that.
  13. He’s not, of course, but we need more than just Gabe and Diggs outside.
  14. I think they view Harty as a vertical threat outside? At least that’s my read on it. More John Brown than slot receiver.
  15. I’m concerned that we may be sitting there at 27 watching another run on WR’s before we pick. Then who knows who’s available in RD2. I still think we need a legit WR2. Not sure Diggs - Davis - Shakir - Harty is a WR room worthy of a Super Bowl contender. It’s basically Diggs + 3 WR’s that we hope make a jump. If we keep pick 27, I’d also like to be able to spend that on OL, as there should be a top tier IOL or good Tackle prospect available there. At the very least … get Allen a weapon. If that’s Henry or something out of left field, I’ll take it. In summary … -A weapon to help Allen -An upgrade at EDGE or Wagner Not sure we have the money to do both of those things unless an unexpected cut or player trade happens.
  16. I disagree on the talent comment. As an aggregate, maybe … but football in 2023 is weighted. Chiefs Offense was much more talented than ours last season. Our Defense more talented than theirs, pre-injuries of course. Offense >> Defense I do agree they have better coaching. It just is what it is. Reid is a genius and Spags is damn good.
  17. Our own player is triggering it ha Hes probably trolling, but when our GM talks about RB’s at his press conference and our DT hits send on a tweet at Henry calling him “King of the North” …. The people are going to run with it. By people, I definitely include myself.
  18. Yes. Two very different backs. I dont want Miles Sanders, Dalvin Cook, insert random big money back … but I’d make an exception for Derrick Henry.
  19. I’m just reacting to Daquan Jones likely trolling everyone by tweeting at Derrick Henry, calling him King of the North
  20. I think I’m pretty close to being all in on Henry if Beane pulls the trigger. 1) 3rd and short can be Henry wildcat/handoff, instead of Allen sweeps/sneaks/draws 2) Playaction would be a monster 3) Strange fit with our athletic, pass blocking OL philosophy, but Henry would be running into light boxes for the first time in his career 4) Might be appealing to Henry to play for a legit contender and extend his career by not being ran into the ground all season
  21. If we’re going to spend on a RB, I’m to the point where it’s go big or go home. A Miles Sanders signing with his contract would have been maddening, but I can talk myself into Derrick Henry for a couple years. Just not sure what we’d be getting when our entire OL philosophy is based on pass blocking and athleticism …. But those light boxes though….
  22. Ok.. if we want a power back but weren’t in on this, it makes me wonder if we’re really looking at a big fish RB.. which would be dumb, but we apparently signed a guy who’s better at RG to play LG so our RG who prefers LG can stay at RG. What do I know..
  23. Zeke seems like the best fit, imo. Say what you want about him, but he’s a good short yardage back and we have a pass blocking OL.
  24. A pick + Oliver would clear 5M when factoring on Jeudy’s hit. Could sign a DT with some size to a two year deal and fit him in with the extra 5M, that way we at least have one DT under contract for next year.
