Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
SCBills replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I feel like Oliver being moved would be more to a team that was high on him during the draft process that thinks he could hit in his contract year. We recoup a mid-round pick to offset a pick sent out for Hopkins. -
Have GMFB on at that office and Ryan Leaf's projection has the Bills taking Daiyan Henley at 27. I'm sure that would go over well here ha..
-
You may be right, but going off Beane's recent history, it seems like these vets typically make the team. OJ Howard being the exception to the rule.
-
I understand that, but most of the guys I listed were on the team last year and/or are likely making the team this year. I’d be interested in hearing from those who know our team intimately if they could foresee us (trades aside) rostering six draft picks. IMO, it would require some surprising decisions.
-
While probably true .. We don’t necessarily have that many open spots on the potential in-season roster. Beane goes hard in filling in the roster before the draft. No sense in drafting guys just to have them poached - which has been happening in recent years. Allen/Allen (2) Dawkins/Brown/Q/Doyle (4) Morse/Bates/McG/Edwards/Ike (5) Knox/Morris (2) Cook/Harris/Hines (3) Diggs/Davis/Harty/Shakir/Sherfield (5) Von/Rousseau/AJ/Shaq/Boogie (5) Ed/Jones/Settle/Phillips (4) Milano/Klein/Bernard/Dodson/Spector/Matakevich (6) White/Elam/Jackson/Johnson/Neal/Benford (6) Hyde/Poyer/Rapp/Hamlin/Zayne (5) Bass/Ferguson/Martin (3) (( 50 )) We could certainly use upgrades at RT, WR & LB, with DT, EDGE & S being upgradeable and/or looking to the future, but where are we putting 6 draft picks? Many of these guys are locks, some likely locks and some ST’s guys… I don’t see many cut candidates on the 50 I listed. Maybe Zayne, brought in for ST’s gets bumped. Maybe Ike or Edwards in favor of a rookie IOL. Morris for a TE2 if he can clear waivers and we only keep two. Maybe Quessenberry for an OT. DT is bizarre contractually, and I guess maybe they could cut Settle. EDGE, again, would be a surprise cut or keeping six.

Absolutely wild, if true. The one I truly hope is the reason, is the reporting that Murdoch’s fiancé called Tucker a “messenger from God” at a dinner they all had together recently. Shortly after, Murdoch broke up with her. Now Tucker is gone.

Go through my posting history. You know I don’t post stuff like that. Which is why I’m able to condescendingly reference Breitbart as you post Mother Jones articles.

Diggs - Downs - Hopkins would be disgusting, but agreed .. I’d be jaw to floor shocked if we trade Gabe Davis. -
The entire article is him pontificating and wondering out loud based on grievances he has against Tucker. Why on earth is that the article you decided to come at me with?

I agree. I’m to the point where I think Beane is desperately hoping for any glimpse of consistency from Gabe to immediately extend him. I do also think there’s a decent chance we trade for Hopkins this week, but will admit, it’s a bit clunky of a WR room. Talented as all get out, but no true slot.. 3 outside guys and 2 inside/outside guys in Harty & Shakir. Sherfield as WR6/ST’s. You figure it out… Likely means more Diggs in the slot… but it’s not the most complimentary WR room, because you’re not sitting Diggs, Hopkins or Davis in 11 personnel. -
You really just responded with a Mother Jones article? Hold up, let me rebut with something from Breitbart.

Only cable news host to go after the FBI Only cable news host to go after the CIA Only cable news host to go after the CDC Only cable news host to go after the FDA Only cable news host to utterly humiliate members of both parties Only cable news host to oppose the war in Ukraine I can’t get in Tucker’s head to see what he truly believes, but his entire post-covid journey has been nothing but a f**k you to those in power. I 100% believe you have never watched him, because if you did .. you’d see the only cable news host who brought on independent journalists and far left progressives to find common ground on issues of abuse and the consolidation of power in our federal government.

Ray Epps et al. and the FEDSURRECTION
SCBills replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The media truly thinks Americans are morons… and they’re proven correct time after time. J6 was the worst thing EVER!! All involved need to rot in jail!! Except this guy, leave this guy alone.. Ok…. -
I would agree with you that R’s have zero plan on how to articulate this issue. They complain that the media pushed Dem narratives (and they do) but ok.. what are you going to do about it? Any national R should take the position that they will not invoke any national legislation on abortion and will abide by the SC decision to leave this to the states. Brian Kemp, in purple Georgia, has one of the strictest abortion laws in the country… and won in a landslide over a nationally backed candidate who made abortion one of her key platforms. The problem is … six week bans aren’t popular in northern states (outside now ruby red Ohio). Neither is anytime/any reason abortion, but the media won’t discuss that and R’s have no clue how to articulate this message. Therefore they get branded by six week bans and national ban talk by the likes of Lindsey Graham and such. They will need to have a coherent position on abortion for ‘24 … clearly they can’t just ignore it like they have since Roe was decided.
-
Fair assessment. IF, big if… Von, Tre and Hyde are 90% of their pre-injury selves, I still like our roster (pre-draft) better.

What will you do tonight at 8p?
SCBills replied to SectionC3's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Doesn’t matter. Biden isn’t a divisive progressive at heart, but his function is that of a meat puppet who’s insides are operated by identity politics-obsessed progressives. Do I think Trump is pro-life? Ha!!!! Hell no … but he went to March For Life and appointed conservative, pro-life Justices. Im quite sure most politicians don’t stand for half of what they advocate. They take positions to consolidate power, not because they are virtuous. -
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president in 2024?
SCBills replied to JaCrispy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I appreciate RFK’s covid takes, but as someone who acknowledges climate change… it’s also extremely concerning that he’s advocated for laws to punish those that push back on the climate agenda. You can’t exactly be an anti-authority figure if you want ideological opponents targeted by law enforcement for thought crimes. -
The funny thing is, all the people cheering Tucker and Fox parting ways, don’t realize that Tucker is now a populist who trashed both sides (Dems 75% but R’s 25%). The only anti-3 letter agency cable show on tv. The only anti-war show on cable tv. The only cable news host to have right leaning and left leaning independent journalists on. We just lost that. We’ll see what Tucker goes on to do. But all Fox will do is put on another whitewashed, purely partisan Sean Hannity type. Just another propagandist to push party line and obey their corporate masters. Im convinced most that hate Tucker, don’t watch him … they simply were told to.

I edited my comment, likely after you responded, to include the answer … but yes, I think Trump is an egomaniacal sideshow, but I’d vote for him over Biden, Newsom or Kamala Harris. -

I like Tucker and think Trump is an egomaniacal sideshow. Why do we need to like both? But if Trump is the nominee … im voting for him. If that makes me a supporter, so be it. -
Again, just because you wish it so, doesn’t make it so. Literally nobody, with any semblance of credibility, is reporting that this was due to the Dominion lawsuit. Not Yashar Ali, who reports on media for a living … not Media Matters, who have zero reason to lie about this, not Brian Stelter, not The Young Turks … Yet 3 or 4 people on the Buffalo Bills message board, that have fallen for every top-down narrative under the sun… covid, Ukraine, laptop etc.., are the ones who know the true genesis of Tucker Carlson’s firing? You’re simply the Charlie “It’s Always Sunny” conspiracy meme telling other to connect the dots… because that’s what you want to believe. I’ve literally posted multiple liberal outlets disputing your assertion, because I’m not going to quote tweet conservatives who may have a reason to lie about Dominion, and yet you disagree with all of them … including Dominion themselves, because we need to “parse their language”. Yet Tucker was set to air tonight. Thats a fact. Fox advertised it and guests were confirmed as of today ….. Rupert Murdoch didn’t haphazardly fire Tucker due to Dominion fallout on an impulsive Monday moment. This was due to, likely, quite a few things… coming to a head with Tucker refusing to back down off the CIA/FBI J6 narrative… as we know Murdoch and Tucker went at it over how far he could go with the footage he received from McCarthy.
-
Uh, ok?.. where did I say he voluntarily resigned? You’re putting words in my mouth due to your inability to back up your argument. In fact I cited reports stating Tucker was potentially looking to force the issue to part ways. Tucker was set to air live tonight. This happened today as Tucker and Murdoch got into over issues likely boiling over for some time now. The allegation from those I was responding to was that he was fired due to the Dominion fallout. He wasn’t. Never said anything about this … in fact this makes sense, as Tucker was reportedly muzzled on his J6 reporting on the footage McCarthy gave him.
