  1. It’s all about later this season. It’s frustrating, but we all know why we signed him. It wasn’t for the regular season. I’ll hold out hope he can become 80% of pre-injury Von later this year.
  2. He’s not mediocre. That being said.. Given we have Kincaid, his 14M salary for a starting caliber backup TE makes no sense on this team next year. We’ll see how the season plays out, and there’s a role for 12, short yardage, goal line etc this year … but next year, it’s going to really enticing to get a pick back AND move 14M off the cap. I’m not saying someone is sending us a high pick, but he will have value. We will easily be able to move him if we choose to.
  3. I’m not a huge McDermott guy, but his defense gave up two TD’s. One on a quick change short field. One that was, perhaps, the flukiest drive I’ve EVER seen. Poyer coming down at LB in passing downs looks like a really interesting development moving forward. Im pretty confident McDermott doesn’t punt over and over against an offense that poses a bigger threat. He called a beautiful overload blitz to end the game and preserve a comfortable 14 point win. Phillips grabbed Baker’s face mask for no reason and then the ball bounced off Benford for a TD and Phillips for a 2 point conversion. Players were put in position to end the game, and didn’t. So we had to sweat it out.
  4. Weird defensive game. Bucs don’t have a great offense, but neither do the Pats, and we’re coming off a game where they controlled the LOS and Mac Jones did whatever he wanted with incessant short throws. Against Tampa, the Defense gave up two TD drives. One on a quick change, short field. One at the end, which was one of the FLUKIEST drives you’ll ever see. I agree that Poyer as LB was interesting, and based off initial returns, he looked back to being pro-bowl caliber Po last night. Lots of second guessing, but the reality is we should’ve won comfortably if players execute. The overload blitz on 4th down is something a lot of us have been hoping to see from this team after year of Frazier bend/don’t break. It worked. Phillips just can’t grab the face mask there. He did … then the ball decided to bounce off Benford for a TD, and off Phillips for a 2 point conversion. ….and here we all are, attacking McDermott. Anyone who follows my posting knows I’m very much undecided on whether we can win big with him … but I can’t kill him for last night. I’m pretty confident he doesnt punt over and over like he did if we’re playing an offense that poses a bigger threat.
  5. It’s smarts, trust and feel. That improv play down the sideline showed he may possess all 3.
  6. Offense looked like they have that electric factor back with 11 and/or up-tempo. The stalled drives up 14 were frustrating, but on one of them we got absolutely screwed by the non-Offside call. Still .. they have to be more effective and not have these lulls.
  7. I have two separate internet providers. When I’m in SC, it’s been awful. So I came home to Atlanta to watch tonight, and it’s not as bad, but still awful. Maybe I just have two bad internet connections 🤷🏼‍♂️ Everything else I stream comes across just fine.
  8. It’s awful. Borderline unwatchable on my tv when I’m in South Carolina for work. Literally drove down to Atlanta today to watch it back home .. not as bad, but still awful. Any long pass is like trying to watch the game on mushrooms.
  9. I’m understanding of this if it’s a band-aid to get us through this week and then Elam is part of a trade. If somehow that isn’t the case … wow, no words.
  10. He won’t get cut. If there was a 1/2nd round grade zone corner from 1.5 years ago that got drafted to a press man heavy defense and couldn’t get on the field, we’d likely be willing to send them a pick or player.
  11. So Elam is clearly getting traded, right? Theres no way this staff truly think Josh Norman is a better option if Jackson or Benford go down.
  12. Unless he's going to be packaged in a trade.
  13. Someone is being held out for a trade (IMO) This isn't injury buzz type of tweeting.
  14. A lot of Twitter buzz from people who may have connections about the inactives tonight. Screams to me that someone is being held out for a reason...
  15. Personally, I don't care to see any non-red zone Josh Allen runs. All we want is for him to scramble like a normal athletic QB. Mahomes doesn't have designed QB sweeps/draws, but he runs all over the place in games. Josh Allen has been turned into a dude who think the LOS is made of lava.
  16. We need to have a serious national conversation about what is going on in these universities.
  17. Trumps guy was Jim Jordan. He got shot down, so Trump jumps in last minute to take credit for the winner.
  18. I don’t think anyone is really arguing this with you. We all know this.
  19. Great example of you NEVER know what your schedule looks like until you play the games. Bengals get SF without Purdy and Deebo.
  20. If Oliver wouldn’t be playing if we won last week, he shouldn’t be playing tomorrow night. Tell the Offense to man up and let the chips fall where they may. We’re already down 4 major contributors. We can’t keep having these lingering injuries to Oliver, Rousseau, Floyd etc etc.. At some point, this Offense needs to carry their weight and not walk into the locker room with their heads down in shame. If that doesn’t happen, we’re going nowhere anyway.
  21. Make a run in our current state, with the current landscape … absolutely not. However we don’t know how the season unfolds. News out of Miami today that they may be without Tyreek Hill for a bit. Is this the year KC finally loses the major injury horseshoe they have? Can Burrow/Lamar make it through the season? We’ve been hit.. hard… with injury. Maybe it continues, maybe it doesn’t … but injuries around the league are a constant. Get to the playoffs and potentially get some guys back, and who knows.
  22. If we didn't fall on our faces.. again.. I have to imagine Oliver would be held out tomorrow night, with the extended break coming up before SNF/Bengals. I hope we're not making personnel decisions based on desperation. Oliver can't be the make or break piece on this defense.
  23. I didn't say it's a good defense. McDermott got a lot of praise from me when they were dominating and healthy. Not sure why he needs to be here much longer, sacrificing an offensive mind at hc for Allen, if they put performances like that against Mac Jones out there when injuries hit. And we have a lot of injuries. Some you can't control... some might require some introspection when so many young guys are dealing with nagging injuries all the time.
