Outside of MLB, Where are the Bills Worse in 2023?
SCBills replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
In regards to Edmunds and the style of Defense we now play under McDermott.. All we hear about is the aggressive nature of the Defense. The blitzing, disguised pressure, odd fronts etc., for as much of a unicorn as Edmunds is, he had very real weaknesses, and I'm not even sure how he fits in an attacking defense due to his main strength being as a zone coverage linebacker that occupies space and disrupts throwing lanes. He wasn't a good blitzer, didn't read the run very well, struggled shedding blocks and could be mismatched when forced into man coverage. Whether it's Dodson or Bernard, with Rapp potentially rotating in for Dime looks.. they both have very different strengths than Edmunds, and at a fraction of the cost/investment, become cogs on the defense and not focal points. Thus allowing other positions to take on heavier roles in a different style of defense. -
Normies are the vast majority of the public that don’t pay much attention to politics until it directly starts to affect them.
-
That won’t happen. All that happens is geriatric puppet Biden will win, and will appoint more Orwellian lib judges and justices and things get worse. And normies may start to wake up … but Republicans, with no power, because Trump kills everyone down ballot, will just issue strongly worded statements on our behalf.

I shouldn’t be. I, along with most here, have wanted DeSantis from jump. There’s an entire thread on this. It’s not my fault that you can’t defend your party anymore, so everyone is now Trump supporters, including those of us who support DeSantis, because “actually” let me guess … he’s even worse than Trump.
-
The red X is because those weren’t his only advisors. His VP was Pence, he best bud is Lindsey Graham, and Trump … for all the “drain the swamp” rhetoric, ended up relying on many of those same people to shape policy and determine his actions.
-
You have nothing. It’s the same thing, every time. tRuMpeRs I would LOVE for Trump to bow out of the R primary. Please… let us have DeSantis. Doesn’t change the fact that we now have a weaponized justice system and that should be called out, and fought back against, with every fiber of our beings. You now support a party that used the justice system to attack its political opponents and engages in the policing of speech … this all coming after your party advocated for extended lockdowns and vaccine mandates. But, please, tell us all how you’re the “good guys” and everyone else, because you have nothing to defend, is a “Trump supporter”… even those of us, apparently, who don’t support Trump.
-
Explain. Because I’m guessing you’re going to say something, something, Trump supporters … even though most right leaning people on the OT Board don’t want Trump to be the Republican nominee.
-
Every post of yours is based in obedience and compliance to your masters. I’ve barely interacted with you, and it’s already tiresome to read your posts in-between your licking of boots. Believe it or not, but those in power don’t always tell the truth .. and they don’t always know better than us.

I believe he was likely counseled to respect norms and not go after his political adversaries. Just like how he could’ve pardoned all involved in J6 proceedings, yet was counseled against it. I don’t believe Trump realized what he was up against, and for as arrogant as he comes off.. I believe, even he, is shocked that this happening.
-
Agreed. Trump certainly didn’t do himself any favors, and in knowing they wanted to come after him, seemed to do everything in his power to ensure they would. Mainly due to his brazen incompetence. However, to see Biden lie about his involvement in his sons foreign business dealings, to see Adam Schiff mislead the public for years, to see Intel officials lie in order to affect an election, to see social media companies pressured to censor content that could affect an election, to see Hillary Clinton do much of the same stuff Trump has done - both with documents and election denial - and then see this ultra-aggressive attempt to take down one man for sins committed by many is Black Mirror territory …. And I don’t know how we come back from this.

If we're being honest, the Bills played terrible in every game after the Damar Hamlin injury. The worst of the 3 games being our pathetic performance against the Bengals, who - it didn't help - are on another level from the Pats and Tua-less Dolphins and took further advantage of us being a shell of ourselves. -
Do you believe, after all these indictments of Trump, that Hillary Clinton should not have faced indictments as well? Do you believe, after Jack Smith files indictments alleging “disregarding the truth”, that Adam Schiff should get off with no repercussions, when he - along with former Intel officials - knowingly pushed a false story (Intel officials again with the Biden laptop story) to take down a President and/or affect an election?
-
If this is where we’re at, so be it…. This needs to be investigated and Hillary Clinton, Adam Schiff etc., should face potential prison time.

Mitch Morse is 31 and Dion Dawkins is 29. The best OL for the Fins is 32 (Armstead). Best OL for the Chiefs is 30 (Thuney). If you want to talk about Morse injury history.. valid. We are not old on Offense. Year 2 RB1 and two veterans. Top 6 OL are the listed above Dawkins/Morse, along with Brown and Torrence on rookie contracts and McGovern/Bates entering their "prime" years. Diggs will be 30 this Fall, but I don't think anyone is worried about his age right now. Davis/Shakir/Shorter on rookie contracts. Harty is 25 and Sherfield is 27. Knox just entering his prime and Kincaid is a rookie. Josh Allen is 27. ------------- Yes, on Defense, I agree. Our defense is depending on some older guys/guys coming off injury, in Von - Hyde - Poyer - White. Those are 4 key guys that likely determine whether or not this defense is "elite". -
What Would Happen if the Bills Cut Damar Hamlin? (Dan Patrick)

Tough situation.. Early still, but it does seem like if we're going with the best players for the 53, Hyde, Poyer and Rapp are locks, with Lewis in the top spot for Safety 4. -
Jonathan Taylor: Communications with Colts FO Non-Existent
SCBills replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pat McAfee usually sides with players … interesting that he doesn’t seem sold on Taylor. I’ll be honest, his decision to hire that agent would be an extreme red flag for me in building a team and I agree with Lombardi saying he should just come in for treatment and go home. -
Seems noteworthy..

Where I’ll admit Dems are smarter is that they don’t have faith that their overstep can backfire. … and they’re likely correct. The way this backfires is if they actually get Trump out of the race and have to face DeSantis. That’s when you could get an AG Cruz. Luckily for you, half of the Republican base is absolutely ridiculous and will save you from that reality. You’ll get a wounded Trump, with no money, and your geriatric authoritarian puppet gets 4 more years.
-
The only thing shocking .. although I suppose it’s par for the course at this point… is Dems going after speech. Congrats on your support of the thought police. Your masters appreciate the unquestioned compliance. I don’t back Trump. Read through my posts. I support DeSantis and think Trump is a clown. I can also call a spade a spade, regardless of how I feel about someone.
-
If you believe that this indictment today is just and/or that our democracy literally hung in the balance on J6, then you’re an idiot.. and I’m sick of pretending you’re not. By “you’re” I’m referring to anyone that believes this to be true. You may or may not fall into that category.

Lol… this country is a joke.
-
This. He was a 5th round pick.. It's not absurd to cut or trade him. I think a lot of us were blinded by the overreaction of the draft community to us getting him where we did.
-
No, we didn't basically add one guy to our OL. Did the Chiefs not build an elite OL (in part) due to drafting two top tier IOL in Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith? By all accounts, Torrence was the best pure Guard in the Draft. He slid because teams (ours included) value position flex on the OL. Given we have so much of that, we can take a swing on a guy who can only play Guard. McGovern is entering his prime years, and is an above average pass blocker / slightly below average run blocker up to this point. In today's NFL, that's the DNA of a good Offensive Lineman with some further potential. Bates may start the season at RG, and if he does, ok.. fine.. he's solid. However, we added two big pieces to the OL. Two guys who can reasonably be expected to be upgrades to the OL. No guarantees, and maybe they flop, but two big additions were made.. not one.

I think we're getting a glimpse of it with all the dropping into coverage they have guys like Rousseau, Floyd and AJE doing. Simulated pressures with LB's and DB's blitzing while a DE drops into a zone or carries a receiver down the field. -
He dropped a big play late in the season... forgot who it was against. I'm just not sold on him. Harty has elite speed and playmaking ability. Sherfield is solid and an elite blocking WR. Those two compliment Diggs and Davis, seemingly, very well. Shakir, from what I remember, struggled heavily in blocking as a rookie and is kind of a tweener body type. Talented player in space, but we have Diggs, Davis, Cook, Knox, Kincaid etc., to feed before we focus on getting the ball to Shakir on designed plays. Rookie contract may be his saving grace, but he seems to be struggling a bit more than I'd like to hear for a second year player in this system.
