Sounds like DT is incoming. Can't imagine Beane would publicly address him looking at adding someone in his press conference if he didn't think he had something lined up.
-
Beane speaking on Elam dealing with an ankle injury and the potential of shutting him down to let him heal.
-
I know you didn't ask me, but I'll answer.. because I think this is the key to our season. Kincaid needs to become a #2 option and Gabe Davis needs to show more of what he did last week, i.e. a more well rounded WR2 skill set. If we get that from them moving forward, this team can win it all. If not.. or if it's erratic again.. it's going to be a slog.

Bengals looked great against SF, but SF is also looking rough lately. Cousins torched them the week prior, without Justin Jefferson. They also should've lost to Seattle the week before that if Geno Smith wasn't out there looking like an abject dumpster fire anytime they got inside the Bengals red zone.

The talk this morning from the Packers reporter stating Douglas is a guy who should transition to Safety very well later in his career is pretty interesting..
-
Elam is easily the most confusing player I've seen in recent memory. He was bad against Jax, but I would hope the Bills could admit that they set him up for a failure with being inactive all year and then starting him, under those circumstances, against the Jags in London. Outside of that game, he's been just as good.. if not better, than Dane Jackson.
-
Have to wonder if the Packers wanted to do him a solid. Locker room leader, a guy beloved in the community and having his best year to date.. However, he is 28 and likely not a part of their rebuild, so maybe they wanted to do right by him when Beane made the call.

Sure, it could .. maybe people who have some strange doom complex can provide more detail as to why they think this will happen … or they can just make themselves feel better by posting negativity, absent explanation, about their team. I actually wouldn’t pick us to win this game if I had to make a choice. I absolutely think we can, but we haven’t shown anything in terms of player execution, consistency and coaching this year, or against this team, that makes me confident in that. …but I’m not going to plaster social media with “this might get ugly” posts so that I can cope better. This team deserves better than that and if they want to be taken seriously, will come out and win Sunday Night.

This is the “embarrassing defeatist talk” I referenced. Talent wise, there is no reason that should happen. It would be a major red flag reflection on Allen and the coaching staff. Von is still working back, Douglas will be getting acclimated, Allen healing up from a shoulder injury and Knox is out, but coming off a mini-bye, they have enough healthy talent to win this game…and they ****ed around enough already this season that the excuses have run out. ….and they also know that.
-
The defeatist talk from some is embarrassing, but it’s definitely a “show me” game for a lot of us. Bengals losses can be blamed on Burrow’s injury. Bills losses are blamed on… what? Offense has been healthy and is an inconsistent mess. Defense has injuries that, Rasual Douglas aside, will have to be worked through. We showed we couldn’t stop them for a game and two drives last year. Our offense made their DC look like an evil genius. It’s in Cinci. We’re absolutely talented enough to beat them, but we need to see a lot more from this team than they’ve been showing.

I wouldn’t have moved Elam for anything less than a 4th, so if the offer were less .. I’m good with it. He’s likely the inactive CB4 from here on out and then we’ll see if Year 3 Kaiir Elam can become anything. Would rather take a shot on something finally clicking for an elite athlete at CB than give him away.
-
No offense to what Tre used to be, but Rasul Douglas is better than what he was this year pre-injury.
-
There seems to be whispers of a potential Suh signing at some point. It does seem interesting that reports are we were so heavy on CB before the deadline and next to zero reports of us on a DT/LB.
-

If we aren’t trading for an elite/elite potential corner, Rasul Douglas is the next best tier. Straight up G who should excel in our scheme. Douglas/Benford makes outside corner, at the very least, solid .. at best, a strength.
-
So we now have a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6? That’s a lot of Day 3 picks…

Bears CB Jaylon Johnson Requests to be Traded

Yea, I don't think they have to be an either/or... Especially if Elam does get traded. -

It's .. fine. I agree. Wallace would give us reliable depth to play at a similar level to Jackson in our scheme. It doesn't move the needle, but helps prevent it from dropping any further. -

We will need picks, but yea.. 10 is overkill. Offense looks pretty much set, but will likely need a WR early in the draft to replace Gabe. Defense might look a whole lot different.. Linebacker is set with Bernard, Milano and 2nd year Williams, but as we sit here today.. only Von, Rousseau, Oliver, Benford, Johnson & Poyer are under contract. -

Bills interest in Jaylon Johnson is 100% legit and has been reported by both national and local reporters. That's all I've heard in relation to Bills verified interest in anyone. -

Yea.. Beane has been pretty good at drafting, and with the emergence of Terrell Bernard, AJ Epenesa and Spencer Brown, the Day 2 stuff is blown out of proportion. My biggest issue with his drafting, and this may change as the need for immediate impact begins to outweigh potential, is that some of these guys take too long to become a factor for us as we spend too much of their rookie contract waiting on them to pop. -
