  1. Unfortunately for us, he would've been robbed even if Lamar didn't win it. Dak was 2nd, followed by CMC in 3rd. I think Josh should've won in 2020 - 2021, but last season he was too far behind.
  2. I was BeastoftheEast... and Shaw. Are you kidding? Those are always the best threads. Great way to kill time! After enough arguing, I slowly start getting invested & picking a side. It almost feels like watching football again!
  3. Yeah... but then you're flying Southwest. Unfortunately being a Texan myself, I'm stuck with SW for nearly everything unless I want to pay out the a** to travel 😓
  4. "Goodwill Calvin Johnson"
  5. Sorry, I thought you were referring to the orange & black coloring of the video, which a lot of people in the Twitter thread mentioned. The thread doesn't state it as fact though... The title has a "?" in it, and I ask in the original post, "Does the voice sound like him? I think so." It's just my opinion agreeing with the Twitter post.
  6. But listen to the voice, that "EA Sports" definitely sounds like Joe. I pulled up an interview with him recently just to make sure I'm not hearing things, and it sounds identical
  7. Does the voice sound like him? I think so. In honor of this great achievement, I offer my box art for the occasion.
  8. 2016 - 2018 Warriors 1962 Celtics (had 9 HOFers out of 13 players) 1985 Celtics 2000 Lakers 2003 Lakers (didn't win, but had a ton of talented players) 1992 Cowboys 1994 49ers 2007 Patriots (also didn't win) 1999 Rams And of course, the 1990's Bills 😁 I don't know much about MLB or NHL, so I just kept it to NBA & NFL.
  9. That was one of the first replies 🤣
  10. Glad to get confirmation I was correct. But sure, we don't like the guy, so bury conversation about him.
  11. Apparently if Nick Wright is mentioned, the thread gets merged into this one. All the other threads get to stay though, it's only Nick Wright that gets moved 😆 Topics on the board now: - "Matt Parrino - "Claypool has been the most consistent WR during OTAs" - "Joe Marino talks what the Bills have to do to beat KC in playoffs" - Dan Orlovsky: Bills offensive weapons are top five in the AFC, too many are sleeping on this team" But title something with Nick Wright, and straight to the "Random Talking Heads" thread ya go! I'm not annoyed... YOU'RE ANNOYED. Nope, shockingly he glosses right over it. It was only a small clip from a larger interview, but it's making the rounds now because he says pretty concretely that Lamar isn't a top 5 QB.
  12. Just wanted to leave this here for posterity. Dude has spent half a decade criticizing him, but has slowly & quietly ranked him higher & higher every year. Not that it matters, I just want to leave this as proof he's accepted defeat in this matter. Funnily enough, it's Ravens fans now mad at him. He left Lamar out of his top 5 (and has Stafford ahead of him too) 🤣
  13. I'm not a genius, but we've tried investing in defense, have a defensive head coach, and constantly prioritize defense in the draft & FA, yet it never helps come playoff time. Yes, we need to try & outscore them. The closest we got was when our offense could keep up with them, but poor game management at the end of the game snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Reid & Mahomes know how McDermott's defense operates & what he likes to do. Our best shot is a creative OC & great offense to compensate for the defensive shortcomings. Just give Josh a great OL & all the weapons in the world, and I'd trust them to find a way over trying to build up a McDermott defense that can somehow figure out how to stop Mahomes.
  14. Most intelligent post I've seen on here. We've taken flyers on plenty of guys, zero have panned out. The only successes have been proven starters that already established themselves as good players. I have no expectations that Claypool or MVS or Hamler are suddenly going to "figure it out" this year & elevate to top tier WRs. And by "top tier" I'm not talking top 10 guys, I'm doubtful they could even break top 50. Coleman has a shot, but I'm not going in expecting him to be great his 1st year. If he can just be a reliable red zone target I'll be happy. The rest of the squad will likely be gone this time next year. This is the weakest group we've had since Allen's rookie year.
  15. Interviewer - "When you got on the field, you seemed to handle it pretty well. Do you think it was during the week that gave you trouble?" Elam - "It's whatever you want to say... I mean I wasn't playing, I wasn't playing." I like that he's not trying to make any excuses, but at the same time his response was confusing. I only quoted one part of it because the rest of it was unintelligible, but it at least sounds like he understands his performance is why he's not seeing the field & is working to correct that. Really hope he's successful. We need CB depth badly. Benford, Douglas & Johnson make a solid starting lineup, but beyond that is a dramatic drop off. Elam has the power to greatly alleviate that issue.
  16. So can we put to bed that he left because he didn't like Josh? How many videos throughout last season did people share showing him & Allen having fun together? Given how he talks about Allen, how Allen talks about him, and what we've seen from the guy, it's pretty clear to me Diggs didn't believe in the ORGANIZATION. Remember when he reworked his contract to free up some money & it came out he did so with the understanding the FO was going to use that to pursue Hopkins or another weapon? Diggs mostly kept quiet (or cryptic), but when the media kept making it a "Diggs has an issue with Allen" thing, that's when Diggs would actually get annoyed & accuse them of putting words in his mouth. It's very likely he did get frustrated with Allen at times, especially in that Bengals playoff game (which is very reasonable imo), but I don't think that was the CORE issue of wanting out. Defensive head coach, preaching "trust the process," Diggs gave it 4 years and saw the Bills continue to lose in similar fashion to the same team year after year. "The process" wasn't working in his mind. And without the ability to make any big moves, still under the same leadership, same front office, same philosophies, etc. why would he think this year would be any different? He's not like us. He's not just a fan who gets to cheer from the outside & be naively optimistic that every new year is "our time!" He's an actual player with a very limited window. His athletic prime is over or nearly over. And nobody can accuse him of not wanting to win... At this point, I think that's ALL he wants. If that means taking a gamble on a young upstart team, so be it. He did it with the Bills & got really close to a SB, so why not try again? Either way, I don't think he hates Josh, thinks he's a bad QB, or wanted to leave because of him. I think he wanted to leave because he's not optimistic things will change in Buffalo under this regime.
  17. Well they're going to do something with his contract sooner rather than later. His cap number is $31 million this year, $34 million next, then it blows up to $56 million when he'll be 32 years old. Plus after this year, none of his remaining contract is guaranteed.
  18. I forgot how great it feels to be a fan of a team that makes it to the championship game! Anyone else a Mavs fan (or maybe a Boston fan)? They put on a hell of a performance tonight. Luka single-handedly outscored the Timberwolves in the first quarter, and him + Kyrie outscored the entire Wolves team in the first half. They were up by 36 before taking their foot off the gas a bit, but it's crazy how they were underdogs going into every playoff series this post-season. Everyone had written them off before the season, but they came together when it mattered most (plus the moves made at the trade deadline) and pushed through. Still have to win the next series, but either way, I'm proud of them! Don't worry, the Bills will do it next. Everyone has written them off due to all the big names they lost in the off-season, but they're about to surprise everyone. People talked about Luka like they talk about Josh. Great numbers, but can't get over the hump. Not anymore!
  19. Yes, I no longer spend countless hours late at night arguing if JP Losman or Kelly Holcomb is better, or typing up essays on why Tyrod Taylor sucks. And hallelujah for that!
  20. Exactly. The whole idea that it's all a scheme thing drives me crazy. We have a need for CBs that play man too. Problem is he can't do that either, not without holding like crazy. And no, I don't root for him to fail. What Bills fan wants our own players to do poorly? The goal is to win a SB... Anyone that can help us get closer to achieving that is great in my book. But reports on Elam not doing well started coming out almost immediately during training camp. The board didn't believe it, but then our 6th round pick was named the starter for the Rams game to opening the season. That was alarming, especially when we were down Tre White & spent a 1st round pick trying to fill that void. People act like the Bills weren't aware of what defense he played in college & just drafted him on a whim. "He doesn't fit the scheme!" is an easy way to hand wave away the issues. Clearly, the Bills FO, scouting department & coaches watched a ton of tape on him. In fact, they probably drafted him for his man coverage experience hoping he could replicate that & hold his own against the best WRs in the AFC. That hasn't happened.
  21. I'm probably one of the most vocal "Elam is a bust" guys on the board, but man I really want him to prove me wrong. He says "it's not like I was cutting corners, it's not like I wasn't listening, wasn't taking notes, wasn't preparing the right way... just that it allowed me to learn though..." What does that even mean? He's clearly acknowledging he's fallen short, but if it was none of those things that held him back & he was doing all those things right, how did he learn anything from that? I know he's trying to give off a positive attitude & show he's got a positive mindset, but it makes me think "well then why is a 1st round talent struggling to fight for a backup role if they're already listening, taking notes, preparing the right way, etc.?" The idea that McDermott doesn't play rookies was always a silly excuse & definitely not true, but on the other hand he's being kept around for a reason. There's obviously still potential that the coaching staff sees, and he has had some clutch moments for us. Hoping at the end of the year someone can quote this thread & say "Hahaha you were wrong!" but I've all but checked out on expecting anything from Elam.
  22. Save it for inevitable injury replacements & depth, otherwise roll it over.
  23. I always thought the idea of "arm punts" was dumb... Unless you punt on 3rd down, it's not the same thing. I don't care if you were backed up or had little chance to get a 1st, it's still not the same thing.
  24. ABOUT DAMN TIME! There's no need for a subjective view & human error when they have the means to just get an accurate measurement. The added "TV drama" of it doesn't make for a better experience, it just makes people throw out conspiracies of refs being bought out or other dumb nonsense.
  25. No more automatic 1st downs unless the penalty yards would be enough to provide a 1st down.
