New Renderings of New Stadium Clubs
BigDingus replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall
There should just be 1 roll of TP in the middle... How are we supposed to accidentally touch a stranger's hand across from us, apologizing at the same time, get all flustered, then fall in love? ❤️ Where's the potential for romance?! -
Bass struggling at minicamp (and now at training camp)
BigDingus replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Doesn't mean the other option would work though. They could go for it on 4th & 7 and just get shut down anyway, so then what? Obviously McDermott would get crucified for not kicking the FG & everyone would riot saying he cost is the SB. But in the Chiefs game, kicking a FG there was dumb anyway given the circumstances. We like to pretend we "lost by a FG" to make ourselves feel better, but in reality, the Chiefs had a ton of left to score! And given how easily they moved the ball ALL GAME, combined with what they proved in the "13 seconds" game, kicking a FG there was playing for the lowest chance of survival. Hoping for a miracle stop & hoping for OT - not good odds given the situation. -
It's just sad that compared to the Chiefs, we are getting further from where we want to be. The Chiefs invested heavily in OL a while back, now they've got a great group locked down protecting Mahomes. And despite being known for offense, they then built up a defense that ended up 2nd in the league while also being the 2nd YOUNGEST. Yet our defensive-minded HC, who's invested many early round picks & a ton of money in defense, is looking at rebuilding a gutted, often-injured unit that achieved nothing in the post-season for years. So they already out-scored us, then they surpassed us in D, all while getting younger, protecting their QB, keeping elite players, and having a better cap situation than us? And I'm supposed to be believe we "quietly got better?" Surely these WRs - a couple mid-level guys, under-achievers & one 2nd rd rookie, our "next-man-up" D, and the same HC will do better this year, right? Sure, the cap situation will be improved NEXT year, and we will have NEXT draft to acquire more young guys, but it's not like other teams stay frozen in time. During our transitional year, the Chiefs will be contending for a SB threepeat. It bums me out, but there's still hope for the future. We just have to find a way to leap-frog the Chiefs, not just keep pace behind them. Oh, and also hold back other ascending/contending teams like the Ravens, Texans, Dolphins, Bengals, Jags, etc.

Cool post, very interesting! I think you're right on a lot of them, but on the 2ne one, did Keon stop there or did he keep running inside? I think Josh hits him if that's where he stopped on the comeback, but if he kept running inside, think there's a decent chance of being picked off even if Josh was in. Then again, I'm just being nitpicky, but I hope he gets more opportunities in the future!

Yeah, this is about where I am with it. This roster isn't like the 49ers or something. Our QB going down is the end of the line. Doesn't matter who we put back there, unless they're a top NFL QB, there's no chance this team makes the playoffs if Josh is out.

Bills @ Steelers - Preseason Game 2 - Sat 8/17 7PM
BigDingus replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, we can only go up from here I hope. D looked better than last week, so that's nice. Bummed we can't see any Cole Bishop this preseason. Really wanted to know what kind of player he'd be in the NFL. Even though Mitch wasn't good, Coleman definitely has to come down with passes like the one he dropped in the endzone. Not worried about it, just hope his chemistry with Josh is better. Aside from that, looks like we have some nice RBs this year. If Cook can't hold onto the ball or be a consistent runner, give Davis or Gore Jr. a shot. -

I really hope we don't go the whole preseason without the offense scoring a TD... Yeah, yeah, it's just preseason, but it shouldn't be THAT hard over 3 games -

Until he did... and he dropped a TD 😅 -
Preseason week 2 (non Bills related)
BigDingus replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think ANY of those things are "really likely." Even as someone who's more realistic & tries to avoid making homer predictions/comments, here's how I see those all playing out: - Worthy develops into a #1 or #2 AND Keon Coleman develops into a #1 or #2 (this year) - Diggs doesn't get 1,000 yards or just barely scratches it, but he'll still likely throw shade in the same way Tyreek Hill did with Mahomes (trying to prop up Tua) - Josh Allen has a down year statistically but plays better overall (with less turnovers). I think this will be a transition year, so I'm not expecting Super Bowl anymore. But I also don't think the sky is falling. -
Preseason week 2 (non Bills related)
BigDingus replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah... I'm definitely impressed. Who cares if it was pre-season, that was hilarious 😂 -
Don't stress, this probably isn't going to be our year. Just enjoy what you can & hope Allen balls out. At least that way we'll have some hope for the future!
-
Considering how dangerous this game is, it's a miracle when any non-QB can make it through a season without a significant injury. There are multiple injuries every game, so you just have to hope after 17 games, you have less major injuries than the other guys. Does anyone think Douglas, Benford, Oliver, Bernard, etc. will all avoid injuries for 17 games? Unfortunately, I expect that won't be the case. I hope Milano can come back, but we've heard things like that before. Just hope Josh, Keon, Kincaid & the OL stay mostly healthy, as they're our only shot this year.

I'm really starting to quietly love this LB room
BigDingus replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't worry, I'm sure the group we have at the end of the year will be completely unrecognizable! No need to get attached 😅 -
Anyone who says our WR corps is GOOD is being dishonest, or they're so optimistic they've convinced themselves of something silly. Pre-deadt, people were begging for a WR2 upgrade over Gabe when we still had Diggs. We lost both, then scoured low cost, low ego guys from other teams hoping to scrape something together. Claypool & MVS were rolling the dice, no real expectations. Coleman is our only true investment in the future. If your own GM is admitting publicly they took a step back (and taking a step back from a position most fans already thought wasn't good enough), that tells me we are anything but "better."

What a silly thing to say... It's a clear problem, not just some throwaway stat you can shrug off. Dead last, and you say "who gives a ****?" Points matter, right? Just because you're successful at other parts of the field, doesn't mean you can ignore one of the most important parts. You know these embarrassing upsets we have year after year? Losing to the Urban Meyer Jags, blown out at home against the Colts, losing to the Jets without Rodgers, beaten by Mac Jones, etc. etc. etc... Maybe not being dead last in a very important area of the field would help get us some extra points? Then again, so would not committing so many turnovers, but apparently Josh can't be blamed for that either because "who gives a ****? He's great all the other times!" But isn't the goal to IMPROVE & win a SB? The Chiefs being the #1 offense over that period & Bills being #2 means we're neck & neck, but they've made 4 SBs & we've made zero. Is it all for that reason? Obviously not. But aside from last year, we've had a higher ranked D & been right there offensively, so... So is it ST? Coaching? Obviously it can't be Josh Allen, so maybe we SHOULD care about "cherry picked" things like this if we're DEAD LAST & see if they can be improved...

Caleb Williams WILL play against Buffalo on Saturday
BigDingus replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
He played great, and he's got the weapons to really help him excel. The only thing I'd be cautious about is how well their new OC (Shane Waldron) will do after every opponent has tape on what he likes to do. He could be great, or he could be Dorsey. Caleb is definitely talented enough, but who knows how that offense will look deeper into the season. -
Well, we were the only team to truly get blown out, soooo.... Not that it matters. I do wonder if that means we're lacking depth, especially on defense, or if our new DC was just trying new things. There were a few other teams that lost by a double digits, but we're the only ones that lost by nearly 30 points 😅

Just quit the season. That performance was pathetic
BigDingus replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall
They might be "fine" as in "league average," but they're not going to be scaring anybody either. I like being optimistic, but no amount of positivity will magically WILL success into existence. I think they'll be serviceable, but looking around the league, there's a lot of teams with better WR corps than us, especially AFC rivals. We've got Shakir, Coleman, Samuel, Kincaid & Knox as our best receiving threats. That's not embarrassingly bad or anything, but it's not great either. These are how we stack up against other division contenders/playoff teams imo - Definitely or Probably Better than Bills: - Dolphins (Hill, Waddle, Beckham Jr, Jonnu Smith) - Bengals (Chase, Higgins, Gesicki) - Browns (Cooper, Jeudy, Njoku, Elijah Moore) - Texans (Collins, Diggs, Dell, Dalton Schultz) Maybe Better or On Par with Bills: - Chiefs (Rice, Brown, Worthy, Kelce) - Jaguars (Kirk, Davis, Brian Thomas Jr, Engram) - Colts (Pittman Jr, Downs, Adonai Mitchell, Granson) - Jets (Wilson, Mike Williams, Conklin) Worse or Probably Worse than Bills: - Ravens (Flowers, Bateman, Agholor, Mark Andrews) - Steelers (Pickens, Van Jefferson, Austin III, Freiermuth) Of course, a lot of this depends on if these guys can stay healthy or if the rookies live up to expectations, but I don't see our receiving threats as a strength. That being said, we have Josh Allen, so there's a good chance he can get more out of them than what they've done in the past. -
Bears @ Bills - Preseason Game 1 - SAT 08/10 - 1 PM

People always say this, yet we went most of Allen's career without a consistently good RB (let alone a great one)... -
Jets going with their classic look vs the Bills at MetLife
BigDingus replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't care if I'm in the minority, but all these "classic" uniforms that consist of plain white helmet + boring/basic logo don't look good to me. Not saying these modern, super busy, overly-designes unis/logos are better, but they're both just bad to me. -
If they spend $3.6 billion, they will definitely be hosting a Super Bowl at some point. Detroit, Minneapolis, New Jersey, etc all hosted SBs, and we all know the NFL can sell out anywhere regardless of price or location.
-
I wouldn't mind. I know conventional wisdom is not to let them play except for a few series, but I'd really like to see them come out sharper in week 1 than the last few years. The win in LA a couple years ago was great, but it was still sloppy. Then you have the home upset loss to the Steelers & last year's embarrassing loss to the Rodgers-less Jets. We can't come out looking like that again.

Bills are NFL’s most popular franchise worldwide? Really?
BigDingus replied to Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is zero chance anyone in Mongolia is tuning in to watch NFL games... especially not for the BROWNS. -
So true! We don't know how drive in the snow ("we" as in other people of course)! Everyone tries driving normal speed & we get crashes everywhere 😅

That's the most puny tornado I've ever seen. Back in my granpappy's day, he'd call that a "dust-devil!"
