  1. He sure looked better than Allen did week 1 last season... And against a significantly better team. If you're using THIS game to make any determinations about Lamar, that's ridiculous. "Please tell me what you saw out there today..." I don't need to reference anything from today, the Ravens last 6 seasons show me they're a much better team with Lamar in there, he's a 2 x MVP (even though he shouldn't be), and is still a top tier QB. Do I think Josh is better? Hell yeah I do! But as someone once told me, you don't need to put out someone else's candle to make yours brighter. Do I think the media props Lamar up? Definitely. But in his early years, they were equally critical & nitpicky, just like they were with Josh. So again, people judging Lamar off one game are the same kind of people who made a mockery of Allen week 1 last year. I'm not joining in with that group, even if I think Lamar is overrated.
  2. Well said. And he's insanely patient with great vision. He's always scanning the field, especially when buying time scrambling. Even when the Chiefs offense isn't great start to finish, there's always enough big plays made that push them over the top. The worst part - it's NEVER in their heads that they can't come back from anything. They've proven time & time again that any amount of time is enough time, and they've got wins over everyone else. So when it comes to those final moments, nobody on that roster is stuck in their own head. They know for a fact a win is still within their grasp. Every player says they think a similar way, but doubt has to creep into your mind when the opponent seems to always come out on top.
  3. Ouch... That's such a heartbreaking, almost Bills way to lose. Imagine that happening in a playoff game. Damn. Great game though (penalties aside).
  4. I mean this game shows he can still make plays with speed & scheming. He doesn't have to do it all, and he's not the primary guy anyway. But being in an Andy Reid offense with Mahomes at QB allows him to utilize his best talents.
  5. If the Chiefs win another Super Bowl, they should give us honorary Super Bowl rings for all the players we contributed 😅
  6. I'm sure glad we don't value speed on this team! Ok, ok... I'm fine. I promise.
  7. There's going to be a lot of "thank you Buffalo" tweets tomorrow if Chiefs win 🤭
  8. Worthy again 😂😂😂
  9. Oh I know how they spell it, but who's to say the Polish aren't just dummies who can't spell as well as the Scottish? My last name is Scottish btw, so maybe I'm just cooler! Then again, it's a ridiculous last name to begin with so... 😂
  10. HOORAY! Now when people ask where I'm from, I'll say "born & raised in Buffalo - digitally!" Believe it or not, "Dingus" is my last name, so from my point of view, the Polish spelled it wrong!
  11. Was Josh Allen just in a Pepsi commercial with Travis Kelce?! TRAITOR!
  12. How many combined hours do I have to spend on TBD to become a Buffalonian? Between this board & the OG BBMB, I've been working at it diligently since I was 15! That was 20 years ago! Can I be a Buffalonian yet?!
  13. Unfortunately, it feels like voters don't really respect Allen the same way they do other QBs. And with all the talk from players to anonymous GMs about Allen being "overrated," it doesn't seem like 2024 is positioned well for Allen to win MVP. Also, having 4 of your first 6 games being at night could really backfire if they're nationally televised. It's definitely a good opportunity for a lot of people to see you, but they can also reaffirm biases when you don't play great. Look at nationally televised games from 2023 for example: Jets (MNF) - 4 turnovers to start the year, leading to tons of memes about Allen starting off the year in peak "turnover machine" form Jags (London) - Sloppy game. Josh & the whole offense scored 1 TD until 4 minutes left in the 4th. Giants (SNF) - 169 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, barely escaped with a 14-9 win against the 1-5 Giants. Bucs (TNF) - Pretty good game through 3 quarters, still got a little too close at the end. Bengals (SNF) - Not good, outplayed by Burrow. Josh & the offense looked stagnant. Broncos (MNF) - 3 turnovers, embarrassing MNF loss to the Broncos & a ST choke job at the end. Chargers (Christmas Eve Peacock) - Bills barely win against the 5-10 Easton Stick Chargers. Allen played solid, but offense still didn't look good. Dolphins (SNF) - Awful first half, good 2nd half. 2 INTs & 2 TDs, but enough for the win. So when you look at the games that were nationally televised in some capacity, the majority of the country saw a LOT of sloppy Bills play, a lot of turnovers, and not against the toughest competition. Despite his 40+ TDs, this is what I think killed his MVP chances last year. If Allen has any shot at winning this year, we definitely need him to ball out in these types of games. He's also got to cut back on the turnovers... and somehow string together multiple games without an INT instead of setting records for longest stretch of consecutive games with an INT.
  14. I was just responding to the person who asked to see context for the OP's numbers & wanting to know what the league average was. No matter how you slice it, that's a lot of dead cap, significantly higher than average. But that's almost entirely due to Diggs, otherwise they'd be right at league average. I'm not complaining, just laying out the facts.
  15. Sure, but does that mean you think he'll break 1,000 yards or just repeat his 800 yard season? I'm just wondering because I feel like Diggs is going to get his 1,000 yard season, and the Texans are definitely going to air it out a ton. Meanwhile, everyone here thinks Brady will have the Bills running the ball way more, and unless Samuel ends up a hidden number WR1 this whole time, I find it hard to believe he'll have better numbers than Diggs in that offense. But hey, I hope you're right!
  16. I was already priced out nearly 10 years ago. Even in my 20's I used to find the money to make a trip to Buffalo to see a home game, then go to any games nearby. On a regular Sunday, I'd always go out to a sports bar with friends or the girlfriend & enjoy some food. And when I got my own home, I immediately started paying for Sunday Ticket. I never missed ANY games. One way or another, I watched every one. Fast forward to today, and I never go see live games anymore, nor do I pay for Sunday Ticket. I watch nationally televised games, or see if they're available on streaming services I already own & use a VPN. But there are also times where the Bills might be playing a less interesting team like the Panthers or Giants, and I just decide to skip & listen to it on a radio station. I never used to be ok with that, but everything around the NFL has become so expensive & corporate, it's just too much to invest so much time & money into when I'm not rolling in the dough.
  17. Exactly. If not for Diggs, we'd be on par with everyone else. And even though it really hurt us this year, it frees up $27.3 million in cap space for 2025, so I'm glad we did it now.
  18. Curtis Samuel has only one season above 700 yards, and that was 4 years ago (851 yards with the Panthers). This is his 8th season, and you think NOW he'll finally breakout? Or do you think Diggs will just have such a down year that Samuel will out-stat him by default of Diggs disappearing?
  19. The league average is $34.4 million dead cap per team. With $63.6 million in dead cap, the Bills have the 3rd highest in the league, just below the Broncos ($76.4 million) and Vikings ($65.3 million). Our biggest AFC rivals have the following in dead cap: - Chiefs: $11.2 million - Ravens: $17.3 million - Bengals: $7.3 million - Dolphins: $42.5 million - Jets: $53 million - Texans: $33 million So yeah, we're definitely in the worst shape, while the Chiefs & Bengals are doing the best in that regard (though I know Bengals don't like doing guaranteed money & are extremely cheap, so that may have something to do with them).
  20. I still enjoyed our time with the guy. It's annoying how he left, but it was time to start over. He did a lot to help this team, so I'm not going to start hating him just because he left. Now if more comes out that he treated Allen or others like crap, then I'd change my tune.
  21. Well, looks like the you might get your wish!
  22. It's always had that, NIL hasn't changed anything there. But current college football doesn't have nearly as many of those games after Power 5 Conferences (now "Power Four") grew in size so much. They all used to load up their early schedule with these games, but now teams have to play more in-conference games. Also, college football will naturally have more lopsided games, as it's impossible to have nearly 70 teams with parity, and over 130 division 1 schools. But the overall product has gotten better with the expanded playoff system (now expanding to 12 teams), and athletes being able to more easily transfer for an opportunity to play. Quality players have spread out more than before, and it's not so consolidated to just a handful of legacy schools getting everyone.
  23. Well, I wanted to start a new thread after stumbling across this song, but I think I'm just gonna drop it here. Is this accurate?
  24. What's Bobby April up to these days? He was one of the few bright spots on this team for a while...
  25. He probably is a system QB, but he's been way better than Jimmy G statistically and we all saw San Francisco sign him to the highest paid contract ever (per year) at the time. Even after everyone knew what he'd be, the Raiders still signed Jimmy G to a 3 year, $73 million contract. Right now, the Niners are only paying Purdy $1 million per year, and he's been better & more durable than Garoppolo. With contracts only going up each year, I still expect Purdy to get somewhere around $40+ million a year if he has another season like last year.
