Thats my point. He was giving the full red carpet treatment you could at 19/20. Come practice time saw they needed a return guy and raised his hand. I like the way be carries himself and physicality he plays with. Going to be real easy to root for.

Agree. McGovern has a short leash.
-
He is the backup center. If McGovern is a lesser center than guard this gives them the ability to move him back.

I do not expect Samuel to take over that role. I think its likely he sees more volume than he has at any point in his career. I think the targets go Kincaid, Shakir, Samuel, Coleman and Cook. Coleman may move up that list but I think Kincaid and Shakir will be the early driving forces. Everyone bringing up analytics with Coleman but want to ignore it when explaining the decisions made this offseason in the wr room. The most effective pass catchers in 23 for Buffalo were Kincaid, Shakir and Cook. What changed midway through the season? They moved targets away from Diggs, Davis and Knox to Shakir, Kincaid and Cook. Coleman out of the box will take the Davis role and similar targets maybe a tick less but more efficient catch rate. They building off last year but upgrading the complimentary pieces.

Walking into FSU from Michigan St and basically being the guy instantly is impressive. Big time NIL get and tells coach make me the return man. Not many players in the NIL, transfer portal world have that mindset.

Only way to slow modern day passing attacks. Having the ability to change pre-post snap looks is how you create mistakes and turnovers. Getting in and out of coverages when offenses use formation and motion to stress defensive principles is how you avoid big plays. Mcdermott got his guy lets see what he does.

Yes. 20 years old and has concentrated only on wr for 2 years. PFF pods are all over the place with him. There are outliers and he very well could be. Reasonable analyst pretty much agree, clean up somethings and no one would be surprised he is successful.

I think he was looking to add core pieces. Allen keeps the Bills in the race. Getting younger was needed everywhere. They did that. 2025 they have alot of draft capital and cap space. Gearing up for the new stadium in 26. Its a rebirth of the team. Young guys need to step up. Shakir and Kincaid on offense. Benard and Rousseau on defense. Cook and Oliver did it last year. Still favorites in the East. Need guys to make plays to go further than they have.

Who wanted to trade down? That was a spot where everyone had the guy they want fall into their lap. Eagles? Nope. Steelers? easy to say just move up but the the only move was by Jacksonville and pretty obvious they were looking for the same guy.

What's the point of this team's philosophy?
Mat68 replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
20 plus yard passes year over are the least predictable stat year over year. Its the passing version of fumble recover rate. The offense needs to be built on the short and intermediate. Allen has the ability to generate big plays out of structure. Coleman may be able to develop a back shoulder with Allen but those are less efficient plays. Good to have it in your bag but cannot live off of it. -
Gotta look at them targets. If Diggs has 110 targets is he an elite wr? I think this year people get that answer. Samuel has never played in a high powered passing attack. Samuel’s traits lend very well with Allen. Last half of the year Shakir had more yards similar number of catches as Diggs on half the targets. I dont see another player getting over 150 targets in the offense going forward. I dont see Diggs getting that target share in Houston either.

Coleman is the Wr version of Allen. People can watch him and get 2 different opinions. In the fall he was top of the class. Most had him ranked pre draft 30-40 overall as a prospect. Buffalo drafted him at 33 pretty much inline with consensus. Moving forward Buffalo was the best landing spot for a wr. There is a bunch of targets available and the team feels he will step right in. There are reason to believe his weaknesses can be approved upon. I think sky is the limit. He wasnt available for Buffalo…

He was over 2.00 in 22 with Michigan St. I suspect the Travis injury pulled him below that metric. The passing game fell off a cliff. Qualifiers were used for D.K I think it fair to question that with Coleman.
-
The contract situation in Houston tells you all you need to know about how the league sees Diggs. In stead of giving him more guaranteed money they made it a year rental so he could chase money elsewhere.

The core they had reached its capacity in KC 3 years ago. Last 2 season the were holding onto to something that wasn't good enough but had no choice due to the covid cap maneuvers. The old core has been mostly removed. They have pieces on offense and defense they are building around. The guys that carried the team down the stretch are still here. Kincaid, Shakir and Cook are the primary focal points on offense. Their individual efficiency point to them getting an increased target share. I think Samuel and Coleman are good compliments to them.

I think alot of the negativity of the draft are from some getting there information from one source. You look at 3 different evaluators rankings they are all different. Some dont see Carter as a top 100 player. Simms had him as his 3rd DT in the class. I felt the class was deep in 3 techs. Where I felt it to be lacking were guys able to play both of Buffalos DT spots. 1T is lacking a long term solution. The quickest way onto the field is behind Ed. I think Carter was one of a select few who can do both. Last year was a dumpster fire Ed and Jones. Carter is an upgrade their and projects to be the answer at 1 tech long term.

They are giving 20-24 year olds lottery tickets. What makes them successful NFL players is as much who they are as people. Im behind him. Hope he becomes a modern version of Moulds. Has similar abilities.
-
Team guy. If Coleman’s play matches his vibes he might be rookie of the year.
-
You can say the same thing about Harrison jr and Udunze. Neither ran past guys. I think Coleman has the traits to develop his route running. That happens he can have a very good career. His route running is behind both as it sits. Coleman was still playing basketball as recent as 2021-2022 basketball season. That lends to why his technique is below that of the top guys in the class.
-
I think Coleman a is better athlete. I think Coleman can play a similar game. Also, adds more in a jump ball sort of way. Imo his #1 is work on his footwork and sky is the limit. Get him with Shakir and Moulds yesterday.
-
PFF has been mentioning a new metric that is proprietary called GAS? A cumulative speed and explosion score taking game GPS scores. Coleman is high on that list supposably. Davis is an all around back that walks in for the Murray role and very well become the primary back up too.

2 time National Champion captain. If Mcgovern at center is a little shaky he move back to LG. Hard to get better value than that.

I think at the end of day Buffalo did the work on all the wrs. Met with Franklin pretty much every step of the process. Buffalo brass and Allen went with Coleman. You can look at the positive of the pick or the neg that probably comes down to how you fan. His RAS score is over 9. Before Travis got hurt he was routinely projected as a top 10 pick. I think we are at the point to get behind the kid and see if he can meet his potential. Allen couldnt improve his 58% completion too. Rappaport said unofficial he ran 4.53 after the combine for scouts. Idk if pro day or private work out. Beane said their data showed 4.5 not 4.6. Moulds and Bryant are some positive comps. Both big wrs with return ability in college. That is what Buffalo is projecting him to be.

Correct. If him and Allen can get a feel for the back shoulder lights out imo.
