  1. Im not advocating. Im just not mad at a player asking for it. From his position he can make a case how strong a position is debatable. 15 mil a year is also the glass ceiling running backs are trying to break. The final number is all fluff anyways. Guarantees front loaded, outs after 26 and 27 would also make a 15 avp of total money earned much less in reality. Beane has a number in mind but I would want them to prioritize an extension for Cook. Not paying a rb is philosophy. In a league with finite resources leaves you with premier players at not premier positions. Yes, in a vacuum you pay this position over that and so on. In reality it comes down to the player. Cook is top 10 and approaching top 5 territory at his position vs the 45th best wr? An extension is cheaper vs playing it out cap wise .
  2. Oliver has been solid. Imo Beane prioritized 3 tech not 1 tech. Mcdermott played the Star because the importance 1 tech has on the front 7 run defense. Beane has used b to c level FA to fill the role. They have shuffled different players through. Get Ed a big mfer to force attention and create disruption.
  3. Hence could. He wouldn't play the position he is currently excelling at. This comment is why he was drafted in rd 2. After filling the outside corner need with Mitchell they drafted Cooper fill the other corner, or slot, or safety. After the switch to slot Cooper and the secondary took off.
  4. Isiah Simmons. Is he a linebaker? Is he fluid enough to play safety? With 2 high safety and light numbered boxes where does he play. In college put him at wide side slot/baker and let him roam. NFL, narrower hashes more 2 way go situations. Can he guard a pro slot? As with Bishop does he have the feel for deep safety and how is he at the point of attack. Taller safeties seem like studs but none of them have exceeded expectations for the most part.
  5. Hardy probably the disappointment. Coleman, Bishop and Davis will see expanded roles in 25. Carter will be given the shot at either back up role. Starter beside Oliver is not something I expect. Both lineman seem to be NFL players with Grable a surprise for me. Carter and Coleman both got hurt when they were playing their best and both struggled to regain that consistency. Overall it was a work pail class. Bishop and Coleman both determine its success. He is playing great as a slot. He wasn't replacing Johnson. Moving him to centerfield Desean could have had the same season as Bishop did.
  6. Where is Cooper playing in Buffalo? Safety?
  7. Id assume 11-13 per. I was going off 15 because that is apparently the sky is falling number. Cap allocation comes down to how creative they want to be. They could say they cant sign anyone because they are currently negative cap wise. They can create 10 mil 15 mil 50 mil. With whatever they do they can use void years to minimize whatever cap hit they want for that cap. Thats why im not looking at has a hard number because all the different variables are at the teams disposal to say and do what they want with them. Again Philly has 359,000,000 in void years money and Buffalo has 35,000,000. Start of camp I want a better team on paper than the one that played in January. Starting by trading away a starter and a pick they hit on for another pick in the same rd or less doesn't help get us there. Cook is included for Parsons or Garrett now Im listening. Outside of that I see it as a net loss.
  8. I put that the front office and Ownership. With void years and an extra year with 25 included in an extension his cap hit would be small. They have the ability to do both. It does not have to be either or. Both. Keep Cook, bring in an impact Dlineman. If a trade isnt workable bring in a Db and Wr. Improve the roster.
  9. The market dictates the price. Rb is also a very depressed market. With his age, injury history and career workload I think the next 3-4 years will be his best years. Now as a fan. Are the Bills better without Cook and a premium pick used for his replacement? Or are they better with Cook and a premium pick used to enhance the roster elsewhere? I think thats an easy answer they are better with him. Cheaper cap wise to do it now. They have the money and ability to make it digestible in the short and long term. If those 2 things are true why is Cook so bad for asking for it? You dont think he is worth it ok. The team isn't better without him and the they are just plugging holes on a boat my making new ones imo.
  10. Comparing rosters you pointed out Cook is not elite I was sarcastically pointing out neither was Hurts or Smith. Its more age, potential and market. With Barkley and Henry being a success I could see a large market for Cook. Cook would be significantly less than Hurts or Smith at 15 mil per. Again. Buffalo isnt paying anyone. They easily can pay Cook without an issue. Character assassination over wanting a new deal is crazy. Buffalo can sign Cook. They can trade for a De. They dont have to choose. The lack of action is the front office and likely ownerships choice. Not Cook wanting 3-5 mil more than some think he is worth.
  11. So your first point is invalid. You are ok with Buffalo not spending like other teams. Yes, Cooks contract is a drop in the bucket in NFL pro bowl contracts. Whether its 10,11,12,13 or 15 a year. Buffalo can keep good players and add new ones. Getting upset at a guy coming off a career year again is protecting the Billionaires money. Cook is 25 without an injury history and an incredibly low career workload dating back through college. He has a case for being paid tops in the league. Will his ultimately? Probably not but if you don't ask you don't get. I will not be ok with letting Diggs go than the following year letting Cook go. This is 1 step forward 2 steps back. Getting ride of Allens best weapon is not a recipe for success. This is drought era Bills all over again. Let your best players leave draft their replacements. Started with Winnfield and stopped in 2020. I dont want to do that again. Smith and Hurts are elite now?
  12. Allen is the Qb. Not named Allen, Cook is 2nd and 3rd isnt close. He needs players around him. Sure 15 is top of the market. Likely just a starting point. Compared to every other position 15 mil a year is not that much. I want to experience a Superbowl win. I don't care about how solvent Buffalos cap is. Reason why I compared Phillys money in Void years and Buffalos. 359 mil in void years is the owner. Buffalo is over 300 million less. Everyone has the same rules and options. But tell me more how finite the money is? Philly pays Hurts more than Allen. Pay Smith, pay Brown, pay both tackles, Slay and can afford Barkley. Yet Cook is too much for Buffalo to afford?
  13. Why are so many protectors of Billionaires money? Dude hasn’t said a word publicly. His brother and agent are trying to get him the best deal. It’s uncomfortable but it does not reflect his character in any way. Using the levers to get the best deal is no different than guys being cut or traded in the next weeks by the organization. He play well. He is the best weapon on offense. I dont want to get in the habit of eroding Allen of his playmakers because he will “make it work”. The Eagles had 359 mil of void money the Bills had 35. The team needs to make it work.
  14. Guys lacking elite traits or lacking elite production. Quite a few tweaners that play end but could line up inside on passing downs. I think both OSU DE will not wow with athleticism that will cause them to slide. Somewhere around 20 dlineman possibly more will land in the consensus top 50 prospects. I think the odds are high to land 2 in the top 56 if that is the way they go. For high pass rush potential you will need to select him at 30. I think you can find a 3 down De who probably is better vs the run than the pass early at 56. I like the idea of getting bigger upfront. Thats why I like 1T DT at 30 and De at 56.
  15. 1. Dline. Big M’Fer or pass rusher. The way I expect the draft to play out I think this will be the most likley option available. Buffalo has a well paid 3 tech. They need a nose/1 tech. Those are the type of players that drop due to limited pass rush potential. I will also never be made at a pass rusher on the edge. Kid from Marshall or BC. I think there are multiple starters at DE in rd 2. 2. DB starter opposite Benford or premier safety. This is a spot if someone slides. Starks or a top Db is there I take them 3. Potential 1 Wr. This imo is the longest shot and less likely. Class is so so maybe Embuka or Golden. I wont thumb my nose at a weapon for Allen.
  16. I get it. My point is Allen is such a massive success you can’t just simply dismiss it. Besides the best draft pick in 30 years Beane is average at drafting. His time with Whaley they were not able to say that.
  17. Tall talented guy. I would be more concerned with his injury history. I think he would be a very good addition to the offense if healthy. Takes over the X with real deep ability. Allows Coleman to move around the formation more. If he goes to a team without an elite Qb I think it will be difficult for him to live up to the contract.
  18. Brown, Rousseau, Oliver, Cook and Torrence all are solid starters. A MVP in Allen doesn't count. Allen being the most important aspect. Multiple people flamed that pick. They made multiple moves to move up and get him.
  19. Henry is over 30 and offers little out of the backfield. Apples and oranges. Closer to Barkley imo.
  20. Nathan Peterman. And it is not really close. The audacity to start him over Allen in 2018 was fireable.
  21. Like I said. The position has been treated so poorly and their contracts have not risen like every other they have to negotiate aggressively and use every pressure tactic to avoid getting low balled. What did he do that was so negative? Checks notes? Doesnt follow the Bills on social media?
  22. Why cant Allen play with elite players? He can but fans should not want a poverty franchise mind set. Keep the best players drafted and developed in Buffalo. Paying guys at or near top of market is a good things. It means their play warrants it or they have the ability to exceed it. Let the Cook thing play out. I think Beane will be aggressive trying to keep him. Wanting 15 is a pretty steep increase over Barkley. Though age and injury history are in his favor.
  23. Players cant hold out. This is pretty standard practice. Why do fans get so in their feelings about players working billion dollar corporations of every dollar possible? He deserves a pay raise and is eligible for an extension. Rb has been diminished monetarily the last decade. They have to fist fight for fair market deals. Wish the best for Cook whether he gets that in Buffalo or otherwise. Why do many have to question his character. Him getting a deal impacts the next guy getting theirs. It’s his obligation to the game to get the best deal. This doesn't make him a bad teammate or means he has ill will towards the city or team.
  24. Rb was a strength. Why weaken it when you don't have to? Because rbs are undervalued? By who? Allen doesn't need a number 1 wr. Allen doesn't need a top back. He is asking for 15 a year. Saquan is at 12.5. Somewhere around 11 a year I think you’re a fool not to do it. Heck even Saquans deal is what Gabe Davis got in FA last season. In the overall scale it’s nothing for a NFL team. He is a top 5 back. Keep him for his prime and make a run. I don't understand the hate he is getting.
  25. Get a bad mfer in the middle. Dexter Lawerence type.
