  1. I honestly don’t understand why some people choose to be willfully ignorant and incapable of understanding nuance. But then again, if nobody fit that bill, there wouldn’t be a single vote for the GOP…
  2. Report that someone I like did something good: “wow! What an amazing person.” Report that someone I like did something bad: “Well this is garbage. We can’t believe any of it” Explains modern conservative thought.
  3. Work got busy and we had my kid’s first birthday party while also getting everything ready for the holidays; including making sure we have everything ready for a very long drive back to Rochester. Not everyone has so little going on in their life that they can spend all of their time on a message board. I would say it must be nice, but it actually seems kinda sad, to be honest.
  4. Quite a few people and while I hope we see similar lawsuits against them, the big penalties are really only going to be for people with large public followings. I believe there are some suits in the works against Trump himself for some of this stuff but I’m not sure if you’d be successful going after someone less well known than Rudy like Eastman or the Kraken.
  5. If Rudy had simply led a private life after leaving the Mayor’s office, he’d have a stellar reputation and could probably make $$$ on the speaking circuit. Instead, he’ll be remembered as a fraud and a crook.
  6. Easy green energy solution: Hook up Ronald Reagan’s grave to the power grid and his spinning over the current GOP’s complete capitulation to Moscow will power the entire country.
  7. You’re giving them too much credit and assuming this is an actual investigation.
  8. Most Americans are simply not paying close attention to the election right now. If you are, (as I am), you are in a small minority. So the cloud of misleading statements and outright lies may cause people to believe that there is some underlying fact that proves Biden’s culpability when in fact such evidence has not been found (as admitted by the GOP). If they hold publicized hearing and it goes the way it looks like it will (Hunter is a bad actor, Biden is a loving father), it’ll probably just end up helping the Dems.
  9. Are they trying to re-elect Biden and make Speaker Jeffries happen? Or are they really just this high on their own supply?
  10. He’s not trying to win these cases, he’s just trying to run out the clock until the election.
  11. She’s not a liar. Lying requires intent. Julie is too stupid to lie. She actually believes the nonsense she posts. She has absolutely no documented legal experience but pretends she knows what’s going on because she’s too ignorant to recognize her own failings. She is Dunning-Kruger personified. However, conservatives are the most gullible people in America, so they just eat it up. The only reason she has a following is because being ignorant of reality is the number one qualification for being a modern conservative.
  12. It’s almost as if you don’t understand how our government works. Ignorance is key to MAGA so I can’t say that I’m surprised, but I would have hoped that you knew better. Passing a law requires a majority in the House, 60 votes in the Senate, and a signature of the President. A bill proposing that 1+1=2 won’t do anything if there is enough opposition to it. Any member of an administration is still limited by the constitution. The Dems don’t have all of the answers and I don’t always agree with their proposals. But the difference is that they are at least trying to address the issues; a concept that is anathema to elected Republicans.
  13. No immigration reform is simple and no immigration reform will succeed without fixing the legal immigration system. While there are good discussions and debates to be had on how to fix the problem, a big dumb wall that does basically nothing except cost a ton of money isn’t a solution. There are a wide range of proposals from Dems on this. What is the GOP proposing that would address the root causes of the issue?
  14. They came up with proposals which died in the Senate due to Republicans. What Happened To The Bills On Employment-Based Immigration?
  15. It’s an issue built around emotions, not logic. A plan that would help fix the issues would be dead if proposed by Dems, but the same plan would have a better chance if proposed by Republicans. The culture war is always working to substitute facts and logic with emotions and feelings. Do you ever wonder why almost all policy proposals from the GOP fail a root cause analysis?
  16. I am shocked, absolutely shocked, that this trial played out as the facts presented instead of the right wing circle jerk of a secret affair based on absolutely nothing. Will the MAGA crowd learn from this? I’d bet the farm against it. Learning isn’t exactly their thing.
  17. I gotta admit, the absolute brainrot on the Right is utterly fascinating. There is no capacity for critical thought, no ability to hold two opposing thoughts at once, and an absolute rejection of Occam's Razor. No matter what the story is, no matter what the facts are, they derive any conclusion that fits their narrative and work backwards from there. It cannot possibly be that a senor member of Adams' campaign was compromised by the same organization that compromised Gen. Mike Flynn and Sen. Bob Menendez. No, that makes too much sense. They need to reject the obvious explanation in favor of a circuitous route of red threads to find some possible way to make it all the fault of people they don't like. Somehow, Biden, despite his handicap of apparently being brain dead, is also perfectly manipulating things behind the scenes to have the feds go after his enemies. Or maybe it's not Biden, but actually Kamala Harris who is also completely incompetent but also a sinister master manipulator. Or maybe it's (((someone else))). To believe this, we just need to ignore the fact that it only took Jack Smith about 8 months to secure an indictment against Trump and wonder why they didn't just do that in 2021. And we also need to ignore the reports that Biden was not happy with how slow Garland was. And just ignore basic facts, reality, and logic. No, the simple explanation of Turkey trying to corrupt US officials and making inroads into Eric Adams' office does not fit the desired narrative. Therefore, it's the all powerful (yet brain dead dementia patient) Biden ordering it because for some reason he actually cares about what the mayor of NYC says. If you honest to god believe that this investigation is Biden is trying to attack Adams, I would suggest throwing every internet-connected device you own into a lake because you absolutely cannot handle them like a responsible adult. MAGA = All feelings, no facts.
  18. Honestly, I think it’s much earlier. The rise of right wing talk radio and then Fox News allowed conservatives to envelope themselves in a comfortable cushion of being told that they are right and anyone who disagrees is wrong. From there, it’s a small jump to teach people to derive their facts from their conclusions instead of the opposite. You go from denying climate change because oil companies are buying right wing influencers to thinking that Paul Pelosi had a secret gay lover because the obvious explanation of his assault didn’t make liberals look bad.
  19. Oh honey. If you think the GOP actually wants to solve the border issue, I have a golf course in Scotland to sell you. When did conservative voters become such easy marks?
  20. I can’t believe this conversation is still going on. You have to have been hit in the head to believe that fascism is a leftist ideology. I will say though that this explains a lot about what’s going on with the modern right. Celebration of ignorance seems to be the way for them.
  21. Nah man, I just try to use words by their commonly understood definitions. When you take an existing word and change the definition of it, you can’t expect that people are going to have the same understanding of it as you do. Unless, of course, you honestly believe that the definition of socialism is “a fictitious unsustainable unrealistic utopian ideology that power mongers use to fool stupid people into ceding control over their lives which often morphs into fascism, evident by scores of 20th century brutal dictators.” If you are so dense as to believe that is the actual definition of socialism then I commend you on providing all of us with a clear example Dunning-Kruger personified.
  22. Aaaahhhh. Thank you! This makes so much more sense now! You’ve made up a definition of socialism that fits what you want it to be instead of going with the actual definition. And now you’re chastising anyone who doesn’t agree with your made up definition. Please feel free to carry on with your childish nonsense but don’t expect anyone to seriously engage you on your fantasy.
  23. Yes, it is incredibly frustrating dealing with people who just make stuff up to fit their narrative. Despite that, I’ll ask again: how do you define socialism? It’s the crux of your argument so it should be pretty do to do in a sentence or two.
  24. Ok, I have to ask because I’m really curious at this point: How do you define socialism?
