NFC Slug-Fest: Hawks @ 9ers

Wilson's touch passes have been incredible all night - that one was a miscalculation, though. Coverage was too good for a soft pass like that. -

You're only as good as your last kick. Hausch was Hausch money for us for quite awhile - he's had a bad stretch, but all kickers do eventually. -
This team is still a year away
Success replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In a way, I agree. But I also think that on a good day, they can beat anyone in the league - and the league is not that amazing this year. Every game the Bills play is close (barring Philly, which could have gone a different way if that late 1st half fumble didn't happen). Make the playoffs & anything can happen. It's a cliché, but as true as ever this year. -
Such a crucial game - they're in a position right now where they have to win the ones they SHOULD win, and then pick off 1 or 2 that are tough. I remain convinced that the Bills are a better team than they're showing. The D is there; the offense CAN be better. One of the keys to the latter is actually using the best player on offense a bit more.

Where does the 10th win come from?
Success replied to letsgoteam's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly, if we let the Pats sweep us again, I don't even care about the playoffs. I hate that we chalk that up as a loss every year. If the Bills can't beat 'em, what's the point? I think all of the remaining games are on the table. Why should we concede games like Dallas and Pittsburgh? Those teams both have plenty of issues of their own. We might finish 11-5 or even 12-4. Who knows. -
The same old names - Star, Wallace & Lee Smith

Can’t see how anyone on the D can be faulted. Also, fans tend to judge players by how often their name gets called. There are ways to do a good job in the NFL that can be on the quieter side. -

The expectations are way too big for Allen right now. He’s a 2nd year who missed a lot of his 1st year. And he led what could have been game winning and game tying drives at the end. He could have been better, but he was solid. Writing him off at this point is silly. -
That was the correct call, by a mile. I was just hoping for some Music City Miracle karma from the refs, but they called it right.
-
I did. I'm not concerned. Obviously, they can beat us - it's a division game, they almost beat us before. But I'm not seeing it.
-
He tends to play his best when it matters the most. Obviously, there are quite a few aspects to his game that he has to tighten up - but we have to stop pretending that a 2nd year QB is going to be this fully developed thing. I hate to sound old, but I am - it used to be that rookies HAD to sit for a year or 2, and then it still took time to "get it." The expectations are too big, too early. I still think that class will be excellent - Darnold, Mayfield, Allen, obviously Jackson. It takes time - Allen is improving, and we need to be patient.
-
Glad the Phins won. It's hard for even good teams to win 3 in a row. We'll get to 7-3 next week; that really ain't bad.
-
Bad day for Hausch, obviously - but I did NOT get pretending to go for it on 4th, just for the 2% chance you could pull them Offside. It was the equivalent of calling a TO to ice the kicker. Hausch was ready to go in - you could see the coaches pushing him back on the sideline. For a guy whose confidence was already hurting, that did not help.

I was happy w/ his play overall, also. I find the over-the-top criticism of him to be irrational - he deserves some blame, but he's actually progressing fairly well for a 2nd year guy. Not sure what people expect at this point of his career. -

I mean, that's not really the NFL. I don't think it's reasonable at all. The Bills could run the table for all we know. -

It's a knee-jerk. He had some bad throws, but was very solid yet again. Hard to put the loss on him. -

Um, well, I guess you have a point w/ the Ravens. We can beat the Pats, Steelers and Cowboys. Not that we'll win all of those, but it's not like the latter 2 are juggernauts, and the Pats will be competitive. Are you just penciling in a loss against every decent team? -

Clock management at the end of both halves left a ton to be desired. Just panicky stuff - we had so many chances there. -

The Bills are 6-3. 10 wins can definitely happen now. Today was a bummer, but it was just a loss. They happen, to every team. -

Almost need a turnover here - tough to stop 4 downs. Though we did stop 8 downs inside the 5 earlier. So, there's that. -

It has basically evened out over the course of the game w/ the miscues the Browns have had. We have to take this game now - D has gotta hold. We ask a lot of them, but we're asking again. -

I think Allen has as many 4th quarter comebacks as he does games started.
