  1. It seems obvious to over-cover Kelce - and I scream that at teams every time I watch them play KC - but I'm also worried about their speed guys, Brown & Worthy. They can really stretch the field.
  2. I have been a fan of Clark in the past - but he was SO OVER THE TOP after the playoff loss last year about Allen. I lost a lot of respect. I'm sure that doesn't bother him, but I usually change the channels when he's on now.
  3. The psychology of this game is so intense. Facing this team for a 4th time in the playoffs in this era, having lost the previous 3. That's a hurdle to overcome mentally. As with everything, there is a negative, and a positive. The positive is that at a certain point, you just draw a line and say "no more." Like George McFly w/ Biff. I feel like that as a fan. Enough already. Let's get it done this time. I'd guess this team feels the same way.
  4. We can definitely open it up more, and I'd expect us to this weekend - but man, do I wish we had a true speed guy who could really stretch the field once in awhile.
  5. Whenever he gets a catch - he has the look of a guy w/ an elite skillset. He always seems to get those few extra yards that a lot of guys can't get. I still have hope. As we know - some of Beane's picks can take time to really emerge.
  6. Terrible call - but by the end of the game, I felt like things came close to evening out. We got a few soft ones (nothing phantom like that holding call - but I can't complain about the refs when that was the ONLY call against us the whole game).
  7. I remember their players smiling and waving goodbye to Bills fans after the Bass miss last year. Can't say that I blame them - I'm sure they heard it from the fans in the front rows all game. But man, do I want to see the reverse of that in KC this year. We're overdue for a road playoff win.
  8. The O-line is our strongest unit (RB's are close). I feel like I have to go back to the '90s for a line that was at their level. They need to have a great game, but I have a lot of faith that they will.
  9. I've seen that drop a few dozen times at this point. It's definitely not as easy a catch as it looked like at first. He was falling backwards, and people really aren't taking the cold into account. That was extreme cold, and the ball can be like a rock in those circumstances. He should have still caught it - but mistakes happen, these guys are all human beings. Fans should have to write "it's just a game" on a blackboard 100x. The reaction to these situations can get so unnecessarily toxic.
  10. Fans are sick of every dynasty. I'm pretty certain most Chiefs fans felt about New England exactly how everyone feels about them. And how we've all felt about teams like the Cowboys, Steelers, Niners, Warriors, Lakers, et al. Personally, I usually appreciate dynasties a lot more when they're over. I even have much more respect for what the Pats did now than I ever would have imagined.
  11. For sure - I think we'll see a whole different gameplan. I think they open it up a lot more; Allen will have 30+ passing attempts and I'd guess a few more designed runs.
  12. The Chiefs are to us like the Patriots were to Manning's Colts, or the Pistons were to Jordan's Bulls. Narratives were established that one team just couldn't get past the other - until they did. We have an excellent chance to flip the script on Sunday. This KC team is not as dominant as KC teams from the past. They're not better than the Bills - they have homefield, but they don't have any significant advantage in talent. I feel confident that McDermott will have a gameplan for the ages on this one, and that we finally prevail.
  13. I'm with the OP. The divisional round was such a hurdle. Making the final 4 is an incredible accomplishment this season. And no, that doesn't mean I'm happy to just be here. But if it does end, we took a big step forward this season, and should be even stronger next season.
  14. Overall, he had a bad game because of the turnovers. But that last drive was clutch. 88 yards I think - and just great throws the whole drive. The narrative would be wildly different today for both he & Allen if they converted that 2 pointer & then got it to OT, and won.
  15. Kitchen sink game. Whatever it takes.
  16. Ugh. Basically the last play of the game for him. We're still in good shape for next week compared to previous years, but this one was a surprise. Hope he's okay & that he's back for KC. Average time for return in the NFL is 9 days, but a lot of guys don't miss a game.
  17. Anyone remember the play he got hurt?
  18. Was Benford not playing at the end? I didn't see anything about that injury during the game. Hopefully he's okay, and will be able to suit up for the game. Otherwise, not bad news overall. When Rapp was getting carted off, it felt like his season might be done, so day-to-day is the best update we could have hoped for there.
  19. The Patriots used to get endless praise for just playing efficient, mistake-free football - and letting their opponent beat themselves. I've noticed that about today's narrative, also - the Ravens SHOULD have won, if they just didn't turn the ball over, commit penalties and drop passes. No real credit for the Bills for making a lot of that happen, and for taking care of the ball themselves. And ONE penalty the whole game for Buffalo.
  20. I thought there would be more talk about the spot of the ball on that 3rd down & goal at the end. I thought it should have been on the 1 - and they spotted it on the 2. Made a huge difference. If it's on the 1, it's almost certainly a TD, and no one is talking about dropped 2-point conversions today.
  21. We might have more non-Bills fans rooting for us in this one than any team in history. I'm sure it's close w/ teams like the Giants when they played the Patriots - but even then, I remember there were Philly & Dallas fans who couldn't bring themselves to pull for NY.
  22. Shout out to Ray Davis. He had some great runs last night. It was so cool to see that after the injury last week.
  23. I was surprised to see that stat this morning. And, as we know, that 1 penalty wasn't really a penalty. It's hard to overstate how important this was to the win. Combined with zero turnovers, we played relatively unspectacular football, but it was efficient and basically mistake-free. McDermott & the coaches deserve a lot of credit for this. The team was disciplined and didn't beat themselves.
