I'm fine w/ it. They're not a great team. It doesn't matter if they win or lose tonight.

Tonight, and until the end of time.

Chance of Playoffs now, according to NYT simulator

It's gonna break my heart if we don't make it - because there really isn't a top team this year. We could go on a run. The Niners are the closest thing, and they would be tough. But no one in the AFC. -
The Bills just have to win. And keep winning. Good day overall. Maybe we could slip in at 10-7, but I still feel like we have to win out.
-
Refs, changing the games. It's what they do.
-
I have the exact opposite reaction. We are as good as anyone. Coaching is costing this team - we can beat anyone.
-
Exactly this. It's shaping up to be a good day right now.

Kind of bummed that NE will get one of the top picks. But I also think Williams and Maye are overrated.

Trubisky still doing work for the Bills....
-
Neat trick on Stroud's part, head-butting a defender and then having the official call the penalty on that defender.

Thanks for posting. Haven't been in this mindset in awhile - but it's not so bad. Makes a bye week exciting. -

Anyone that's into natural history and how life developed on earth - "Life on our Planet" has been awesome...... -
It's something about the way we develop players (we tend to be slow in getting some rookies involved) - but one thing that is clear to me is that Beane's picks sometimes need time. Epenesa is a great example. Oliver was sort of underachieving until this past year I think most here had written Bernard off. Which is why I'm not so quick to write off 22-year-old Elam. I think he probably was hampered by injury a bit this year, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him start for us next year. Agreed on Torrence - he has made some mistakes recently, but it's easy to see that he's a good lineman and was a good pick for us.
-
I don't think we're that old. I get that's the narrative - but it feels more inspired by Hyde & Poyer than any other position unit. Our corners are young, our LB's, most of our D-line, Josh, O-line outside of Morse, Cook, Kincaid, Knox. Diggs just turned 30, but I don't really consider him old & he's still at the top of his game (imo). We should draft a safety early next year.
-
Cook is a running back. I hated the drop last week - but he's a running back. And he's been great for us. He is one of our most dynamic playmakers.
-
How so? He still looks in peak form. Quite a few great receivers have played well into their 30's, and often at the top of their game. Particularly receivers like Diggs, who don't rely on physicality as much.

Well summarized. Obviously, some is self-inflicted, but other aspects are just like, "I've never believed in this curse thing, but...." It's enormously frustrating to be a fan of a team that you know is better than at least 3 teams that are likely to make the playoffs, when your team is likely to miss. Such a weird season. Best of luck next week. Should be a great game.

I was as dismayed by this as most here - but I also think he's a pretty average coach in today's league. He's certainly not a bad coach - we're IN every single game at this point. He gameplans well. He generally coaches well in-game, but his undoing has been late in the close games. A lot of people don't remember, but Reid had a similar reputation in Philly, and those fans wanted him out of there. Seems kind of crazy now - he's the best coach in the league today. Not saying McD will have the same trajectory, but he might figure out the "close game" thing, or at least improve at it. I mean, if a kicker didn't hit a pretty improbable 60 yarder in the rain, we'd be singing some praises for him on beating the best team in the league at their place, in a close one.
-
There was probably 1 call on that drive I thought was legit. Ticky tacky the whole way.
-
I've seen so much more than that NOT called. It didn't impact the ability to catch. The refs gave Dallas that TD drive.
-
I mean, refs have to consider what they're giving the other team on those calls. Close to 50 yards for a hand on the shoulder that didn't impact anything.

Caused unimaginable death & suffering. So, not a fan.

You know what? I just realized that we're winning the Super Bowl this year. Because there is no way the universe can be this cruel. A more positive outcome is guaranteed. -
It's all bad. Being a Bills fan isn't for the weak. It's gotta all end with a title, somewhere, somehow. None of this will make sense otherwise.

Man, in a few short months, I went from feeling the the future was endlessly bright, to feeling like we're back in the drought days. I'm not totally anti-McD, but it's hard to believe we could miss the playoffs or even continue our collapse down the stretch - and we'd just roll it all back in '24
