Game week thread - Bengals at Bills (flexed to 1pm ET)

I don’t think they would make up an injury to make the switch. Yes he is a captain but he can be replaced. Plus we all watched the injury happen. Not sure why you would think they made it up. -
Greg Rousseau has turned out to be a complete slug.

Absolutely he needs to step it up. -
NFL mandates new playing surfaces for all stadiums by 2028

Is it possible the new field meets standards? -
And he got $9.7 million for doing that, I did not intend to say it was just where is family is or is not, sorry it you took it that way. I laid out the financial benefits for him to go finish the season somewhere else. It is not just one thing (money or family) it is several. At least I bet those are the things going through his head and discussing with his agent. And that contract has parameters for both parties, he does not get to not show up and get paid his base.

Not saying this does not happen but it is against the rules to do that while a player is on waivers

Having thought through some of the details financially, it is not super surprising a guy n Slay's shoes could make this decision. He has made $120,000,000 in the NFL so he has generational wealth. This past year he signed a one year $10,000,000 with the Steelers. At this point there is only $348,000 left to earn or roughly 3.5%. In order to earn that 3.5% he will have to move his family or just himself during the holidays. What he is giving up financially is not much, it would be $3500 for a more common person making $100,000. Would you pick up and move for that if you had some other priorities? Also understand there s risk in my trying to earn that $348,000 at 34 years old, if he tears an ACL his career is likely done while if he goes and hangs with the family, gets to the offseason he can probably get another 3-5M to play somewhere next year. You could argue some kind of moral obligation or something but I will just say I can see why in this situation he can sleep ok doing what he is doing.

No the trade deadline has passed
-
Yeah it could not be because he is a good veteran WR who happens to be available. I am surprised they are not signing guys from the other 8 or so potential playoff matchups
-
That does not require a claim

I would jump on the chance to get Slay

Game week thread - Bengals at Bills (flexed to 1pm ET)
Matt_In_NH replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Per the NYT’s playoff simulator, the Bengals have a 76% chance of making the playoffs if we win our remaining 5 games. It’s unlikely we can make it as a wild card, seeing that multiple teams would need to implode weeks 13-18. Therefore, our best bet of making the playoffs is for us to win the AFC North 76% means probably and is not undue optimism. It’s based on data. It’s fine if you don’t believe it or want to actually understand the scenario. Go to the simulators and you will see if you want, or just pontificate…whatever you want to do. My whole point is that you going to get a big effort from the bengals because they will feel they are still alive and the division is in play. On top of getting shot in the arm with Burrow returning. -

Yes because they can win their division. It’s an opinion. If they were to win out they are favorites to win the north. -

The bengal will probably make the playoffs if they win out. Don’t live they come in knowing they can salvage their season. Really hope they can show better vs burrow this time. -
Could be 5 or 6. Gotta be positive!

Me too

He did not have the hand as heavily bandaged. Don’t take what u said the wrong way. He was slowed by that injury, do you disagree?
-
Yeah his hand is getting better and he made an amazing play. I am just saying he was recently affected by injuries.
-
They can, yes but it seems unlikely with their turnover rate. One game at a time. The Bills have had no answers vs Burrow, that needs to change this week.
-
Uh he has been a she’ll of himself with his wrist or hand for a few weeks and he pulled a hammy yesterday. But I agree he would be an asset still worth signing.

So What Was the Deal on the Penalty After the Pitt TD?
Matt_In_NH replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
That just does not seem like a penalty. Any kicker can hit the landing zone. They should move it 15 yards back from the end result of the kickoff. As much as that sucked I like that they fix things that are clear and obvious on replay. -
Get off our guy Cam! Where is the video? It has to exist
