Kincard, Harty and Sherfield are an upgrade over Crowder, McKenzie and Kumerow. Anyone think otherwise? Kincard has traits this offense has never seen, same can be said about Harty. Maybe if Crowder stayed healthy last years group would look better but McKenzie and Kumerow had more limitations that the guys who are replacing them. Harty is an injury waiting to happen too though so there is that. Can't disagree about Davis, not sure he is a real number 2 but he gets another shot at it in a contract year. Bills Mafia is weird about him, they dont want him to be the number 2 but they want to pay him as a number 2. I love what he has been in big moments but I let him walk vs paying him a lot of cash.

Out Crowder, McKenzie, in Harty and the guy from Miami, slips my mind. In Kincaid, in McGovern and Torrence and some options to compete at RT. The Bills have scored the most points in the NFL over the last three years, does he mention that? If he did, I would ask what is he really trying to "fix"? How does a team that completely ignores offense score the most points over the last three years? Every roster has issues to knit pick, he may have a point about resources spent on defense but the GM focuses on both sides of the ball but the Bills are not devoid of offensive talent, Cowherd may be though.

The teams are for New York City and their suburbs which includes Northern New Jersey. Yes they actually play in New Jersey. Economically those teams benefit both NY and NJ. I don't get the fascination of this point but it makes people happy.

I don't root for any team other than the Bills.....I do root against a few

The Bills are screwed now -
Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)

The Patriots need WR help and have bookoo dollars to spend so if Hopkins wants money that actually makes sense. Just have to get past the Bill Obrien thing but money can heal wounds. -
Lets deep dive in thiis! He is onto something. Someone should reach out and let josh know. Knowing ther is a problem is always the first step. Brady and mahomes are way more commercialized. Maybe this is a good thing.

Or he just has to have hot takes because it generates interest.

Cowherd talked about defense over 5 years. I think good and bad QB's/offenses have to balance out over that much time. Sure you could rank the offenses and some teams will have some advantage but things will tend to average over 5 years. In one given year can that happen, yes sure. The Bills have been playing a first place schedule for the last few years which means Mahomes every year, the Bills played Tampa with Brady as the extra game a couple years back. The Bills have been near the top in rankings in both offense and defense and yet dont have much to show for it. To me, the failure has been playoffs.... some critical coaching failures in the playoffs. Those things are correctable IMO.

He mentions how highly ranked the Bills defense is and then concludes they spend all their resources on defense. I will just point out the Bills offense has gained the second most yards and scored the second most points the last three years. In fact they are 10 points behind the Chiefs in points over the last three years. And that is with one less game! If the Bills played that Cinci game they would have be the highest scoring team over the last three years. If you go points per game, Bills are number 1 over the last three years. Also, the one less game actually plays into the Bills defensive stats in the favor of the Bills D over that timeframe, but they may still be number 1. I listened to this and it sounds good and interesting but it is meant to generate reactions, he does not give you all the invormation, just some information that makes his intended point look better. So what problem is Colin really fixing exactly? Sure you can say I want more talent, I can say that about defense frankly. The results are there on both sides of the ball. There really is one thing this team needs to do and I dont have to say what it is.

They put the burden on the patient to fight this crap more and more. Its so broken

Oh I know, people think the Saints got away with something, rather they keep kicking 100+ million down the road. I don't think they are the model to use.

Edit: I get it now, dead cap in 2024 if he is unsigned but if resigned the 4.5 mil can be spread over three years. Still a contract that has less money on the one year deal than what is owed later. Not sure if Beane is on a slippery slope, we will want guys in every offseason, next year, year after, year after that etc. Drunk Beane making this deal. We get him for one year and pay him for four. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/leonard-floyd-18957/

I don’t have money I went shopping and bought a bunch of things I want today with my credit card. I calll this trick magic.
-
Any money freed from Oliver was not going to Hopkins...the Bills need the $5 mill in season IR cushion too. I bet this is one of those deals that has some void money in 2024.
-
Exactly....GM's tend to have blinders when it is guys they drafted. I was looking forward to seeing him play in a contract year. He did not get what the other DT's in his class drafted after him are getting and that is certainly justified but I hope this is not just paying a lot of money to an ok player.

New stadium official groundbreaking - Monday morning (6/5/2023)

Looks like you figured it out -
It is not every team...the Bills are one of the higher leveraged teams in the league. But teams are at different points in their "cycles". Poke around on Spotrac and you can see that. I dont hate what the Bilsl have done as a whole but they need to be careful moving forward IMO while Allen is still around.
-
You can just borrow from future years which is largely what Beane has done, I don't view it as impressive because as it stands right now they are going to be up against it for many years doing this same thing. I would say Beane was more of a responsible spender this year (so far, that changes if he signs Hopkins). They need to be more calculated and careful about who gets "paid". Not every good player deserves a pricy extension

Not sure what I just watched but I think it cost some money
