  1. Good to see Allen throw it quickly and accurately against a blitz.
  2. I am hopeful about Allen, but it is sort of puzzling that the one year the Bills go for their franchise QB, is the year they had the worst draft position. The Bills could have just waited 1 more year to tank and get a QB without trading away picks.......or they could have taken Watson/Mahomes in 2017.
  3. The 2017 Browns would annihilate this team too. They didn't have any blowouts of this magnitude last year We may be watching one of the worst teams in NFL history
  4. Including yesterday's disaster, the Bills have now lost 5 games by at least 20 points in the 18 games McDermott has coached (and this doesn't even count the Jets game in which the bills trailed 34-7 before scoring 2 garbage TDs). By comparison, in the 4 years under Marrone and Ryan, the Bills only lost 1 game by that margin. Even the Browns, who went 1-31 the past two years, only had 5 such blowouts in that 32 game span. This just shows how, in today's NFL, it is literally HARD to lose games like the Bills have against the Saints, Chargers, Ravens, etc. Now, I still think a brighter future is ahead as long as Allen is legit (a big if), but this "process" may be longer than people thought. I don't think it is an overreaction to say that Bills may set records for futility this year. The 2017 Browns would have beat this team like a drum yesterday. It is scary to think what the Bills point differential will be this year.
  5. The Bills would still win, but i will say, Tua for Bama is better than Peterman will ever be, and their o-line might be almost even with the Bills.
  6. As exciting as it was when Andy Dalton threw that TD pass, I hate hearing "they made the playoffs" to justify the current situation this organization is in. Last years team was one of the worst playoff teams ever, and IMO was a worse team than the 2014, 2015, and 2016 Bills teams, they just had a ton of luck with turnovers, winning close games, even Cutler didn't play for Miami the last week. The 2014 team would never have gotten blown out by the Saints like that team did.
  7. I know there are other inconsistent QBs, but man Nick Foles is an enigma. With the Rams, he was one of the worst QBs in the league, and there have been games with the Eagles where he struggles to lead any drives. But then he had that MVP caliber season with Chip Kelly, and played amazing last postseason. Hard to figure out. Glad the Bills didn't trade for him though.
  8. Ravens 26-14. Ravens get a defensive score (or a turnover that sets them up inside our red zone), and the Bills get a garbage TD.
  9. This offense will likely be 32nd by a mile. They were 29th last year with Incognito/Wood, and even though I have some hope about Peterman/Allen, you know both will throw a lot more INTs than Tyrod, so we aren't going to win games by simply making fewer mistakes than the other team like last year. The Jets offense is probably the next worse as far as weapons/o-line, but I have much more confidence in Darnold than in Peterman/Allen. Sorry.
  10. We had the 30th ranked offense last year. Now we lose 3 starters off the line, Tyrod, Matthews, and all we have added is a project QB, a QB with 3 starts, and Kerley. Hard to imagine this offense not being dead last in the NFL next year.
  11. I guess McDermott and Beane figure the offense will be terrible regardless, so we might as well add all the defense we can. Now we might lose 20-3 instead of 30-3.
  12. Seems like we can get great value at a position of great need with Crosby or Jones. But we will probably reach for another defensive player
  13. Yep, we passed on the guy with infectious confidence and an enormous appetite for knowledge in favor of the one with immature at best, and racially insensitive at worst, tweets. Totally picked the right Josh.
  14. The Allen pick was an F. Edmunds was a solid pick, but we traded away #64, so I give it a B+ Averages to a C-. I think we will regret not taking Rosen for a long time.
  15. Roethlisberger stats in his last year of college: 69% Completion 37 TD 10 INT 4400 yards Sorry folks, we did not get the next Big Ben.
  16. At least we didn't trade up to #2 or #4 and give away next year's 1st round (likely) top 5 pick. And at least the Dolphins or Patriots didn't end up with Rosen. These are the only positives I see tonight. We drafted Jake Locker, and not only that, unlike when we picked EJ, we actually had the opportunity to draft an elite QB prospect.
  17. As much as I want a QB, I have no interest in another project QB, so I would say none at all and build the roster. If we make a big investment in Allen who will likely be a Jake Locker/JP Losman type bust, we are stuck with him for 3 years probably. Especially if we trade several picks to move up to get him. That will set this franchise back in a big way, probably means new coach and front office, etc. I especially would rather draft no QB if drafting Allen meant giving up next year's 1st round pick because I think that will be a very high pick, unfortunately.
  18. I think that JP was the worst trade, at least in recent years, but another sneaky bad trade was the Ragland trade by Whaley in 2016. We swapped 2nd round picks and gave away two 4th round picks to move up only 8 spots (from 49 to 41) to get Ragland (we know how that turned out). One of the 4th round picks we traded was 117. Dak Prescott was selected at 135, and considering he was tied to the Bills before the draft and given the Bills picked Cardale at 139, I think we might have had Dak had we not made this trade.
  19. Josh Allen was 94th in Y/A and 95th in completion %, among college QBs last year. He was one of the worst college QBs, statistically. College stats can be overvalued, and they need to be looked at in context, but they do mean something. How many QBs like Hackenberg and Allen with terrible (not average, but terrible) college stats end up being great pros? Even if Allen improves, there is no denying Rosen, Darnold, and Mayfield are much more pro ready.
  20. The Jets and Browns may have a ton of cap space, but they may prefer to go with a rookie, given the much cheaper salary and promise of the top QBs in this class. They can then use the cap space to fill holes elsewhere. The Broncos are also in position to take a top QB, but their defense won't be elite forever (already in decline), so I see them as much more likely to go after Cousins and avoid developing a young QB. But given Cousins consistent play (small drop off this year, but they had a ton of injuries and had a whole new WR corps) and the Bills not being in position to get a top QB, I really hope the Bills join the race with Denver, JAX, etc to try to get Cousins. I think he, or any franchise QB, is totally worth the 25-30 Million
  21. As an ND fan, obviously Nelson and McGlinchey are worth drafting and drafting high. I am really not sold on Adams though. His stats are inflated by several 80 yard runs against teams that our O-line could dominate. I know he was a little banged up, but he really struggled against Miami, LSU, Stanford (better teams). He does not have great speed or lateral quickness. To me, Dexter Williams is better (9.2 ypc BTW), but Kelly refused to give him carries.
  22. I am impressed with the Eagles defense (pass rush and run defense, especially) and their offensive line. However, their last two games were at home, and I just do not trust Nick Foles to repeat his performance from Sunday. Even if he gets off to a good start like Bortles, can he really play well for 60 minutes? With that said, I don't think the Patriots will rout the Eagles by any means (they have played in seven SBs with Brady and all have been close).
