As I've already said, if Taylor's production resembles 2016 or is worse, he's likely gone relatively quickly. But I'd say 2015 is the benchmark for him to meet or exceed, and that 4,000 yards and 30 TDs would be 33 passing yards more per game and less than half a TD more per game than those 14 games. I'd say in the passing game that's the most I would reasonably hope for from him in the passing game. But what he adds on the ground on top of that would be extra saucy gravy to also consider... Some people really don't care about what he contributes on the ground. It's a non-factor the way they talk about it.

Here's the thing, the case won't be closed because, for some, it's pretty clear that there's a pretty well defined and rigidly set type of QB we absolutely need in order to be successful. Taylor's never going to be a QB throwing for 5000 yards and 40 TDs. It's not the type of QB he is. I suspect that in terms of production, you're not going to see Taylor do significantly more than he did in 2015. Do I think he can throw for 4,000 yards in a season and 30 TDs? In the right circumstances and system, sure. The question is, would that be enough to satisfy you? For some, I think the answer is pretty clearly no.

I just want to talk Taylor in this thread, and I thought the discussion was done except Foxx decided to randomly bump it. As always, I'll be respectful and limit discussion to that unless someone like Crusher directly insults me. Indy, why come into a discussion you haven't been in just to try and regulate? I guess your new name fits

I've started 2 total threads since I've been here... which is about half a year now... and I've limited most of my Taylor discussion to these 2 threads as people respond to posts in the threads. Is that what you did to get banned? If so, that's wrong. But I've seen the way you post as this poster and your last one and doubt you're accurately describing (or maybe even aware of) what got you banned. Why are you so whiny?

Posts like what exactly? Here's what I love... you have been essentially saying that I'm somehow different from every other poster and yourself in that I seemingly am the only one who will generally post stuff that supports an opinion have but don't generally post stuff that goes against my opinion. I'm sorry, but tell me in what way that's different from anyone else here? You need to get of your high horse (I think those might be the exact words another poster used in these last few pages... perhaps I'm not the one who needs to do some self examination )

No, pretty clear that Crusher actively roots against Taylor. You may not have been on BBMB, but several of his posts made it pretty obvious he seriously wanted Taylor to fail. What's more, he wanted it largely so he could rub it in people's faces. I don't think he roots for the team to lose, but he's pretty obviously rooting for Taylor to fail, probably without realizing how that would actually hurt the team he's rooting for.

There's a disturbing trend in these types of posts from you that might point to something more about you (and you wouldn't be alone) than Taylor. It's subtle, and not a road a football message board should go down... but it's still part of the dark underbelly of the most important position in today's NFL... Do your eyes tell you Aaron Rodgers is a very good QB? He's 2-39 in his career in executing 4th quarter comebacks against winning NFL teams... but he sucks...?

Kinda interesting here that you're ultimately saying validity is more about perception than reality. I disagree with you there, but I get what you're saying. And why should you trust a stat he's created? You shouldn't 100%. Take it with your grain of salt. However, he put in the time I'm not about to put in by watching and breaking down every single NFL QB through his own subjective measures that he explains pretty thoughtfully and really makes an effort (albeit subjectively and therefore imprecisely) to quantify aspects of QB play while considering all the external factors. It's meaningful to a degree because with whatever "cherry-picking" he might be doing, he's doing it across the board for all QBs.
