No need to pull up Jones’ stats...I actually thought he had a better rookie season than Allen’s sophomore season...and, imo, he has already proven he is much more efficient as a passer- even with Allen’s improvements... And that really says something because that’s how low Allen’s bar was...Next year Allen’s goal is to show he can be as efficient as Jones’ rookie season... If he can do that, I will start to think maybe we have a chance at something...I remain cautiously hopeful though...

Bandit was blaming the wind in the Philly game for his low output...additional game log stats seem to show Allen had low output even when wind was no factor...

Allen had 6 games under 200 yards in 2019...one of which was 160 yards at home against the Redskins... Against the same Redskins team, rookie Daniel Jones threw for 352 yards and 5 tds...

Wins are a team stat... Everybody wants to win, but if we are talking about what we want in a QB, it is ideal to have QB production that helps beat the better teams in the league...because unless your defense is the 85 Bears or 00 Ravens, sub par QB production will not be enough... So, with our defense, Derek Carr stats would make us Super Bowl contenders...less than that and we are just wild card contenders... I would also add our wild card game...with the amount of attempts Josh had in that game, had he thrown for 300 yards, Bills likely win...

I see your point...hypothetically speaking, of course, Im curious if the experiment would be better suited to a team that drafted a QB every other year...that way, if a team is not completely sold on the starter, they could potentially trade him for whatever assets they can get...then bump the backup to the starter position...that way you’re not looking to draft an immediate starter...But, you are always grooming the eventual starter...??‍♂️ Certainly interesting to try to conceptualize...

People may agree or disagree with your opinion on Josh....however, one thing that is undeniable is that your post makes logical sense.

Had a great year in 2018...65% comp....2700 yards...8.7 yds/att...27 TD, 7 INT... and I’m always partial to an over-the-top throwing motion (thanks Jim) Lol... Seems to have regressed a little in 2019...overall though appears to be a solid developmental prospect...?
