  1. 3 years 1.2M AAV - seems fair for a #4.
  2. This is all completely incorrect and shows a complete ignorance to the intricacies of the game of football. You could do better than this take with 5 minutes of poking around the internet.
  3. Can we start a gofundme to get this dude a full shirt?
  4. That's wildly, wildly inaccurate, but ok. Clowney is an elite run defender. Watkins has never been considered elite at any aspect of WR at the NFL level.
  5. I think the fairest and most reasonable thing to do for all parties would have been to have the Bills forfeit. Anything less than that is a gift. no. KC loses, Bills win and Bills are #1
  6. I'm aware that Clowney is a superior player but he fills the same role of a run stopping specialist with rotational pass rush ability. Clowney is better than lawson at both of those things, but it's a role we already have filled. I wouldn't mind having him around but he doesn't add a unique element like say Miller that screams GO GET HIM.
  7. now you got it.
  8. more or less. He's an upgrade but the same kind of guy. He's not a Miller replacement.
  9. and less talent.
  10. If he was released and signed after sunday he wouldn't make anything from the Bills. Contracts are only paid during the Regular season. The NFL pays players in the playoffs and it's like 60k a game. Not sure if they could do a signing bonus.
  11. You can do that, but it's silly from an objective perspective. He's undeniably a better player and would be useful. I think he provides more consistency than Epenesa.
  12. He's basically Shaq Lawson.
  13. I loved watching Hillis play. he was one of the last breed of violent runners that was always my favorite style. Hope he gets well soon.
  14. That would be crazy. i sure hope it's true though because I think he has the makings of a great coach.
  15. He's a young player that they know. Unlikely to do any better at this point in the year unless they want to call Eric Weddle.
  16. The tragedy of this can't be oversold, though I don't think it does any good to drag it out to impact another week. Having it happen on live TV and to a teammate certainly made it an ultra-dramatic and devastating moment. It does seem a bit of an odd standard as time goes by though. Had Susan from will-call, Billy the ball boy, or Larry the groundskeeper had a cardiac incident, would continued delay of games impacting teams league wide even be a discussion? I understand the impact to the Bills players as this is a personal relationship, so it's really up to them how they want to handle it. I don't think it's appropriate for the league to move any more things around though. It was nice to watch the Sabres game yesterday and see them put up a big W so they could dedicate a win. I usually think that sort of thing is a bit of a hollow gesture, but it also brings some folks comfort. If the Bills could do the same, it would probably be even more impactful, but if they aren't up to it, I get it. As a fan, I think it would be a great game to go to with a highly emotional atmosphere, and that's when sports are at their best.
  17. it's not likely that people think we are cursed because of Hamlin, no. The Bills have a track record of negative highly impactful variance going back quite some time - colloquially referred to as luck. Taken together one could think that this string of events will keep occurring. It doesn't have to mean that any of it's related for it to exist.
  18. Another word for it would be curse., or perhaps stormcloud.
  19. Yup. I bet the Chargers thought they had time too in 2007 when they had Rivers, Tomlinson, Gates, Turner, Vincent Jackson, merriman, Phillips, Cromartie, Florence, castillo, etc. They lost in the AFC championship game and that was the last time they were a serious contender for anything.
  20. This season was already in rough shape and injuries to key players like Hyde and Miller, the Miami game heat fiasco, the blizzard, combined with Josh's own injuries and struggles have had me feeling uneasy most of the season. I went into the year hyped for a SB run and then it just started to seem less and less likely as the season went on, despite us winning so many games. I don't want to count them out, but I'd honestly be floored if they have what it takes to go the distance at this point. I really hope they can find a way, because these opportunities don't just come around every year, but I'm not betting on it.
  21. I consider most to be 50.1%, but I also believe they are equal to better than us at most positions. If I'm thinking about positions on the team we have a decent edge on them, I have LB, K, P and maybe TE and CB. If our safeties were healthy they'd be there too, but they aren't. They demolish us at WR and we do no better than push with them elsewhere on the offense outside of TE where we may have a slight edge. On Defense they're mostly on par though Hendrickson + Hubbard ar ebetter than Groot + [whoever] and Milano is better than any of their LBs. While I do think our special teams is better, they also have talent there.
  22. By all accounts McDermott is a very good guy and a solid coach. I don't think he's a great coach, and he's given us plenty of examples why on Sundays. I'm not sure if that's critical to being able to win a championship at some point in the future, but it may have cost us one or two cracks at it already. Having a coach like McD will always ensure you're in a place to compete and that's not a bad spot to be. It's fair to wonder though if he has what it takes to close, or if we'll just be an annual 12 win team that never wins it all.
