Groot hasn't elevated to greatness, but he's pretty far down the list of "bad" signings on this team.

I think they have been far too precious about re-signing "our guys". The only home run they hit was Cook. And that one felt like pulling teeth. Also promoting coordinators from within hasn't exactly been a slam dunk either.

I'm hearing reports that Josh just got sacked again.

I don't see anyone on the depth chart replacing Oliver and Hoecht.

I think McD knowing how depleted the defense is has decided to try to stop the pass and live with the run defense. I think he'd rather give up 175 rushing, and 175 passing than 75 rushing and 400 passing which could happen if they sold out on the run. I think leaning on Josh to "bail us out" may be the best option, unless they get as healthy as possible given the current injuries on defense heading in to the playoffs.

Leaning in to the MVP_ is how you win the game

The defense will not be able to shut down good teams this year. Just not enough healthy talent. I can understand the concept of taking the air out of the ball on offense. But that's what you do with a game manager QB. We have Josh, and the goal moving forward needs to be to let Josh go balls to the wall and try to score as many points as possible. The goal needs to be put up 50. Try to limit his running plays to important downs.

Maybe his philosophy is to do what he can with very few good players. I think they are trying to stop the pass as much as possible. If they sold out against the run, they would probably give up 400 passing yards. The injuries have destroyed any chance of this defense being "good".

Sometimes it seems like blocking is more important than being a legit receiving threat at OBD.

Since division games are the most important, I don't see a reason not to do bye weeks by division, and everyone plays a division game off the bye with equal rest. But the NFL gives zero ****'s about fairness. Only $$$

Bob Woods is available. He probably can't get open at this point, but he's a tenacious blocker. Fits this offense perfectly.

There are fair criticisms for Beane and McDermott. But the complete lack of respect and appreciation for what they have done over the last 7 years, coming off of 17 years with no playoffs tell you how bitter and angry a lot people are these days.
