One of the reasons someone chooses to go to a school like Harvard is for the connections you make. My husband has always called his MBA a business transaction (I give you XX dollars, you give me a diploma), but this takes that to another level (my son is not quite so cynical and felt he learned stuff at school when he got his MBA).

What have the Democrats done in the past Four years

Imposing a 14 day lock down on anyone flying in will do this. Until the Governor lifts that 14 day quarantine (instead of extending it) people are going to be out of work in an area where the jobs are tourism, tourism, tourism! Hawaii grapples with Great Depression-level unemployment as tourism plummets <snip> In an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19 on the islands, Hawaii's government acted fast -- imposing a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all visitors. While the move was lauded by many and proved effective in preventing major outbreaks of the respiratory disease on the islands, the impact to tourism, Hawaii's biggest industry, proved quick and severe. </snip> 'You go from 30,000 airline passengers per day to a few hundred' Carl Bonham, the executive director and a professor at the Economic Research Organization at University of Hawaii, told ABC News that the most recent data puts Hawaii's unemployment rate at 22.3% in April, but because these surveys were conducted early that month before many of the job losses, some economists estimate it's 30% or more. "The range of unemployment estimates will vary dramatically," Bonham said. "The bottom line is it's bad, a lot of the data is problematic right now because of sort of changes in what it means to be in the labor force." </snip> -
The guy fired the taser at the officer! And the Atlanta mayor has told the police to stand down.

I think the outrage is from hiring her/him/x back.

I think people are more upset that the donuts are not Krispy Kreme! Anyhoooo misuse of Chaz when the cops are watching over them.

I will give them credit, they did not hide it in comments:

L'Oreal has been trying to broaden their POC market for a while now, with some missteps along the way. I am not certain how hiring back a racist helps. ?♂️ Garnier was told by French courts to pay 60,000€ in fines and damages for intentionally creating an all-White sales team to promote the brand throughout Europe. Beyoncé L'Oreal ad controversy

*****. L'Oreal owns Lancôme. Looks like I am on the hunt, too.

Wow. I cannot blame her. If I purchased L'Oreal products, I'd be done with them, too. Their spokesperson is a racist. The L'Oreal Paris facebook page blew up since his/her/X remarks were posted. There was one more part to what s/he said, as well as a whole screed. Transgender model Munroe Bergdorf was fired from L'Oreal three years ago, and hired back four days ago to advise the company on diversity and inclusion.

A lot of this reminds me of the Taliban pulling down the Buddhas in Afghanistan.

All Roads Lead to the Ukraine

</snip> A million dollars were found in Ilyashenko's car, which, according to Butusov, was given to him for mediation. "(Money was given) for the fact that special anti-corruption prosecutor Nazar Kholodnitsky will close the case of the infamous Burisma company, which was owned by oligarch Nikolai Zlochevsky and whose supervisory board included the son of Joe Biden, a former US vice president and soon a likely candidate. the presidents of the United States from the Democratic Party, "the journalist wrote. According to him, the money had to be transferred only after the decision to close the case. </snip> Bribe of $6 mln offered for closing criminal case involving ex-minister Zlochevsky – NABU director A bribe to the top officials of anti-corruption bodies was offered for the closure of a criminal proceeding where former ecology minister Mykola Zlochevsky was suspected of embezzlement, which would have allowed him to return to Ukraine, Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Artem Sytnyk has said. "A bribe of $6 million was intended to close the episode when the ex-minister of ecology assisted in embezzling the stabilization loan from the National Bank issued to Real Bank," Sytnyk said at a briefing in Kyiv on Saturday morning. He said that a number of persons were suspected in this episode, including Zlochevsky. "Why people who offered illegal benefit were in a rush? Because tomorrow Mr. Zlochevsky had a birthday and had a plan to achieve the maximum result, namely to close the criminal proceedings and ensure the return of Mr. Zlochevsky to Ukraine," the director of NABU said. </snip> -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Who were the leaders in NYS that told the feds; we don't need no stinkin' national guard to deal with NYC rioters? People seem to have a real problem distinguishing what level of government is responsible for what action. It is like they have never read the Constitution or somethin'. -
Kinda my point.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

People who cheered protesting, rioting, and looting seem to have no idea how ridiculous they sound now complaining about a rally. I say that those people should take comfort in the "polls" where Biden is beating Trump by at least 50%!! It's gonna be an early night! And let Trump have his small, 300K+ people rally. -
Five Minneapolis council members propose letting voters decide future of Police Department To get the measure on the November ballot, the City Council and charter commission would need to work on an expedited schedule. Minneapolis voters would decide in November whether to eliminate the City Charter’s requirement for police staffing and replace it with a new department “to provide for community safety and violence prevention,” under a proposal floated Friday by five City Council members. The announcement comes at a time when council members are facing pressure to explain their plan to “begin the process of ending” the Minneapolis Police Department following George Floyd’s death. The council and a separate body, the Minneapolis Charter Commission, would need to work under an expedited schedule as they face a tight deadline to add items to the November ballot. The city’s charter, in essence its constitution, requires the City Council to fund a minimum number of police officers. </snip>

I recall when that extra $600/week was first approved, and Lindsey wanted to go back and make sure it was not going to pay people in excess of their regular salary (if someone earned $800 a week, and state unemployment gave $400 with the extra $600 they got $1K and so more than when working). It was said an extension of that $600 to pay people extra was "dead" in the next phase. We shall see. Dems, GOP continue to spar over extension of extra $600 in unemployment benefits </snip> Lawmakers are at loggerheads over an extension of enhanced unemployment benefits being paid to millions of out-of-work Americans. Congressional Democrats want to continue the extra $600 weekly jobless payments that began when the CARES Act was enacted in March, calling them a financial lifeline that has helped families pay rent and put food on the table. Not extending them would disproportionately disadvantage minority workers, they said. But Republicans, including U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia, have dug in their heels. They appear resolute in blocking such action, calling the enhanced benefits a disincentive to work that could mute the economic recovery. </snip>
