  1. This will end well: NYPD disbands plainclothes anti-crime units The NYPD is eliminating its Anti-Crime Units on the precinct level and public housing area level, Commissioner Dermot Shea announced on Monday. About 600 officers will be reassigned to the detective bureau, neighborhood policing program, and other units effective immediately. Anti-crime officers typically operate in plainclothes, Shea said, and focus on getting illegal guns off the streets of New York. That has led to those cops being involved in a number of shootings, the commissioner said. </snip>
  2. The disconnect is simply amazing.
  3. Well, OAN is the only pro-Trump network, so #OrangeManBad. duh.
  4. Possibly. Or it could be locking people down was not a good idea? Or, COVID-19 isn't cooties that will jump from person to person simply by standing next to them? Or, relatively young, healthy people have little to fear from COVID-19? Or, heat and humidity kill it? Or... IOW, "experts" don't know *****.
  5. From the news article linked: Early data from coronavirus tests of Minnesotans who participated in demonstrations after the death of George Floyd suggest the mass gatherings may not result in a spike in COVID-19 infections. More than 3,300 people who participated in protests and community events after Floyd’s death were tested for the coronavirus this week at four community testing sites. Results from about 40 percent of the coronavirus tests done in St. Paul and Minneapolis this week show 1.4 percent of participants who were tested had contracted COVID-19. Health officials are awaiting the rest of the test results and are encouraging anyone who participated in mass gatherings to get tested — regardless of symptoms. The 1.4 percent positivity rate is lower than the 3.7 positivity rate of the more than 13,000 test results reported Friday. It is lower than the current seven-day average rate of positive tests, which is also 3.7 percent. </snip>
  6. It does not matter how pissed off people are if the GOP does not run a reasonable person for Governor in 2022, and if the RNC does not help that person. Cuomo will be reelected if he runs, as things stand now. I am hopeful the RNC sees a chance, but I doubt it.
  7. "unplanned donation" ?
  8. I have accounts on all major social media except tiktok (because I'm not 12). If you were to go to my profile you would not see a thing posted on my Facebook timeline (even if I did not have it locked down, which I do), I have not posted to IG in over a year, Gab in 2 years, heck... half the socials I am signed up with I'd have to look up my username, never mind my password. Now, twitter? Twitter is a different story. While my twitter posts are all hearts ? and flowers ? and football ? I do read twitter a lot. Even though it can be a sewer, it is also the fastest way to get information around the world. Note: Pinterest, where I have a fairly large following, is actually not a social, it is search. So, I have no idea why I have any followers at all. It isn't like I connect with any of those people. I turn down every contact request. ?‍♂️
  9. And finally, because this is too important to leave out of a New York thread when Cuomo us threatening people who work for a living with another shut down:
  10. Sure, none of the data is being manipulated. At all.
  11. The commentary on this thread... (the show media really is NSFW)
  12. I am guessing the looting and rioting and the hypocritical politicians are not going over as well as the DNC had hoped? Now, there is nothing to say these people are swinging their votes from D to R, but at least they are Republican-curious.
  13. All the networks were up big in March and April due to COVID-19 reporting. Neilsen only has through April, but I know weekly numbers come out >> ?‍♂️ Through June 11th.
  14. People should send him back this tweet:
