  1. Even Barkley only averaged 3.9ypc behind the Giants o-line in '23. I don't think the off-season training made him a better RB to where he shot up to 5.8ypc.
  2. He tore his ACL signing the contract.
  3. He's never stated that though and would it surprise you if he extended Josh Allen more than one year before his deal is up? In Diggs's case I remember he was laughably underpaid for what WR's were making at the time when the market exploded with big time WR contracts (Hill, Adams, AJ Brown). There wasn't a clue even on here that he wasn't fully committed to the Bills and I'm sure he fooled pretty much everyone in that locker room. I remember the only worry about the contract was about if Diggs could maintain that level of play as he got more into his early 30's but that was mostly dismissed because his style of play would last longer than other WR's. There was no worry about him going full diva like he did though. It was in hindsight a bad move by Beane but it was certainly defendable/praised at the time.
  4. Even if Diggs stayed on the roster there wouldn't have much difference in terms of signing or re-signing free agents last year. Trading him for what now looks like really decent value saved us money against the cap this year. Beane isn't as hamstrung this off-season to trade and sign a Metcalf or a Garrett as simple contract restructures could create more than 50 million in cap space depending how much he wants to kick the can down the road. He's definitely not trading or signing both though and Cooper isn't in the equation of we trade for Metcalf.
  5. Diggs had the most successful four year run as a WR in Bills history and that trade is arguably the best move Beane's made after drafting Josh Allen. Extending him prematurely was the mistake.
  6. Did Beane ever come out and say he doesn't extend guys more than one year into their contract? If he did my apologies but your leadership advice falls flat if applied to Beane if that isn't one of his rules.
  7. I doubt there's going to be a stud like TJ Watt or somebody like that available at pick #30.
  8. Not sure about his leadership abilities but I am sure we are severely lacking at outside WR. It was borderline gross negligence last year before we signed Cooper. I could easily see the argument for DE over WR. Especially with what the Eagles did to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. However, Beane's number one priority should be to make sure the offense "doesn't lose its fastball" to quote McDermott.
  9. Definitely Metcalf as he's only 27. Four years of having Metcalf and Shakir all in their primes catching balls from Allen in his prime would be ideal. Bonus would be if Coleman and Kincaid develop into studs as well.
  10. Interesting. Thanks. I wonder if each team had a 1st round pick at this point in the calendar before the draft. Goes to show teams value the draft maybe more now than ever before.
  11. I meant the best players possible that aren't in the NFL.
  12. Burrow wants to pad those stats. He can do that if they have a crappy defense and two stud #1 WR's.
  13. True. You'd think as a league though the way to attract viewers is to have the best players possible. Not sure how many players don't join the league because not many seasonable jobs give you health care coverage. It'll be interesting to see the details of the next CBA.
  14. Let's not get hyperbolic about the lack of weapons around him. He has one of the best o-line's in football, a decent running back trio, two above average Tight Ends, and Shakir (okay, they might want to work on WR). I don't question his clutchness factor but I do question his decision making at times late in games or overtime.
  15. Do they all sign one year deals? Is it a per game contract? Can they move back and forth between the NFL? Do they cover living expenses? Do they pay union dues?
  16. Somewhat off topic but reading this it occurred to me that every team has a first round pick this year. Has that ever happened before?
  17. We can easily get out of Knox's contract next year. I wouldn't be surprised if they drafted his replacement.
  18. I'm not sure how their contract system works.
  19. He's the WR I hope that Coleman can eventually grow into. I think he'll have more enticing offers elsewhere but would love to have him here.
  20. Mighty suspicious this move happens right after the Devante Adams news breaks.
  21. If they can't even guarantee basic health insurance for a year than it was stupid to even start the league in the first place.
  22. That's a really good point about his workload that I hadn't considered. I just assumed the lower snap number was Ty Johnson being an excellent 3rd down RB with pass protection, blitz pickup, and receiving ability. To Cook's credit last off-season he seemed to put on some muscle as he seemed to have more physicality to his game. I think it was the Chiefs regular season game where he ran over somebody into the end zone that made my jaw drop a little bit. Still though any acquiring team would be well aware of his limitations so the best realistic offer I could see Beane getting is a 3rd rounder. If he does get something better though and his agent is fixated on that $15m number I'd do the deal. Re-sign Ty Johnson and draft a day two running back. What pry ends up happening is Cook remains but Beane adds some incentives in the final year of his contract. Cook's situation is why I was always so adamant about never drafting RB's in the first round. Fans can get too attached to them and the owner may put pressure even on the most analytic driven GM's to re-sign that player to a huge extension. It usually backfires.
  23. I think the compensation is fair (55k for basically four months) but not having full year health insurance is bullcrap considering they play tackle football. If you at least can't give your players that then you shouldn't have a league to begin with.
  24. There's a backlog in my opinion of guys who need to get in first. Ruben Brown, Moulds, Butch Byrd, Kyle Williams, and Aaron Schobel. If they let Hansen (no pro bowls) in then those guys should get in too. Cornelius Bennett is more controversial and maybe we can just swap him with OJ when going to the new stadium and nobody will notice.
  25. That's why I don't buy it. His separation stats in 2023 were consistent with his previous three years here. I think Brady's system was the straw that broke the camels back with Diggs getting traded. He may have lost a little but not much. Now with the torn ACL it's doubtful he'll ever be more than a role player. Like I said, I'll believe Brady can effectively use a #1 WR when I see it.
