Shakir is a lot easier to replace than a bonafide #1 outside WR. Seeing Brian Thomas Jr. flourishing right now on a BAD Jags team is frustrating. Beane could've had the most important skill position locked down for at least the next five years. I don't think it would've taken that much future draft capital to move from 28th to the 18th to 22nd range to acquire him.

Because Josh always seems to be the bridesmaid and never the bride. Plus, it would be cool to have a Bills player win it for the first time since Thurman won it in 1991.

Here's the latest odds. Josh still the favorite. Vegas usually has insider information so who knows. Josh needs a strong game Sunday and obviously a victory.

Josh threw 18 picks last year. I'm not advocating for Lamar because he obviously has a better supporting cast but he only threw four picks this year. I don't see it as an apples to apples comparison.

That's a good point with the Bengals. I'd still rather have the Ravens at home though in the second round.

There's no way in hell the Texans are beating the Ravens.
-
15-1 is darn impressive. Who beat them again?

Chiefs @ Steelers (no Bills talk in here please)

Bengals fans are pry pretty pleased right now. -
Because I saw how good defenses like the Texans attack us without an outside WR threat and it wasn't pretty.

Hypothetically, let's say we were forced to pick one injury to one of these players to miss the rest of the season. Rousseau, Cook, Benford, Bernard, Cooper, or Dawkins. Which one are you choosing?
-
I hated the Losman and Manuel pick. Both felt like huge reaches to me. The Allen pick I was more intrigued by but I would've preferred Rosen at the time. Edmunds is pry the one I missed on the most. I thought he'd be an all pro LB. One thing about Cook that I can't really shake is when his agent told Scheffler he was going to play against the Fish. He didn't play and I've never seen that happen before so he obviously has an aggressive agent who's going to want a massive second contract. My guess is Beane will let him walk after next year as I think Cook rightfully will be looking for a huge contract. It may get ugly next off-season but he's still under contract for another year. Maybe there's some incentive based money milestones they can add to the last year of his contract next year.
-
I thought that question was a year too early. If he threatens to hold out and some team offers you a day two pick you take it this off-season. Ideally, you get the pick for the 2025 draft and not the 2026 one.
-
He tore his ACL his rookie year and really broke out as a premier runner his third year. He threatened to hold out going into his fourth season and Minnesota extended him. I could easily seeing James Cook taking the same approach this off-season. He doesn't have the wear and tear his brother did or the injury history so it's pry less risky of an extension. It's more a question of do the Bills feel they think paying him is a good allocation of cap money.

Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
Doc Brown replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
His arm wasn't as strong as Marino's and he doesn't have a quicker release. Few have ever come close. To me he's a less robotic Justin Herbert who also had that "it" factor is rookie year. -
Completely agree with Singletary. I was just making the point that the only real data point with Beane when it comes to his willingness to give RB's he drafted 2nd contracts was Singletary (and I guess Moss but he was a disappointment from the get go). We just shouldn't assume that because we didn't give Singletary a 2nd contract Beane won't give Cook an extension this off-season. I'd rather he extended guys like Rousseau, Benford, and maybe even Shakir first. I just don't know if Beane/Brady sees it that way. Running harder? What does that even mean? Most player's in their rookie contract have the external motivation of getting that bigger second contract. I remember him having a great day at Miami long before missing the Jets game.
-
I would never give a RB a 2nd contract personally but I could see Beane and Brady wanting to keep Cook. Beane was in Carolina when they drafted McCaffrey. Brady was in New Orleans when they drafted Kamara. Both dual threats that received second contracts. They could always point to his low volume of carries in college to justify extending him. It really depends on the agent's demands both in terms of dollar amount and length. They didn't extend Singletary though so who knows.

This is definitely at 1:00. Correct? Missing my 5:00 power nap is killing me. Late afternoon games are the devil.

Will He Reinvent Himself: Coach Sean McDermott
Doc Brown replied to waterglass's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe defense is trying a new tactic of being bad during the regular season and turning it on in the playoffs? The best thing I can say about this defense this year is they've been very good at creating turnovers. Hopefully that carries over to the playoffs. Also, this is pry the first time since 2021 when we'll enter the playoffs regularly healthy on both sides of the ball. -
Josh will get left out again. Like last year.
-
Pry not. That usually goes to a RB or WR. My guess is it will be Barkley.
