I dont think this is about trying to convince everyone, its the people who are on the fence and have no party loyalty (independents/moderates etc) that really sway the elections. If this is convincing enough to get people to vote one side over the other (in this case D voters to R) then it could help mid-term elections which would in fact matter

Why not? In terms of actual dollars, KC would get his SB for the first year, so he can have a small actual base for year 1 and then boost it up the next year

if he could get people that are still big names, like tebow and manziel, I bet he could get a lot of eyes drawn to his product. If done in the spring and not in direct competition with the NFL this could work.
