  1. Not getting into the debate on whether he is stolen valor or not, but the bolded there reminded me of a george carlin skit where he in on the airplane and they refer to the pilot as a captain. "the captain has asked....." More **** from the bogus captain (george says on an aside), so the bolded made me laugh : )
  2. Isnt Hayden Hurst injured and not playing? Baldinger was acting like he was going to be playing in his preview
  3. looks like most TBD guys are picking the Ravens in the survivor
  4. Kerley was the only one where his back foot hit and the ball immediately came out. going by the the timer on the video, the other two throws were 3+seconds (wish they had the actual timer like they did for allens) an opportunity that Allen wasnt afforded on most of his sacks
  5. The Reilly and Benjamin (seemed to double clutch here) throws he had plenty of time and no pressure on him. The only one where he got back and threw it right away was the Kerley one
  6. Reaching for what? The point I was making is that Carolina's D wasn't at full strength and isn't as good as the others. I believe I made my point.
  7. I stand corrected on the Keuchly part. Regardless no Short or Poe helps out our OL a bunch, plus their top corners were a rookie and Seymour. Cleveland and Cincy D's would grade as more difficult imo than that and should be taken into account when rating the performances against the 1's
  8. Pretty sure Kawann Short and Kuechly didnt play (Not too sure but heard Dontari Poe didnt play either but someone else can confirm) So two of their DL and an all pro mlb didnt play, plus the corners were Kevon Seymour and a rookie
  9. I feel like on the first one he was looking for a bigger play on 2nd and 2 which is why he didnt take the 3 yarder. Going forward hopefully he realizes to take a first down if its given to him, esp on that side of the field. The second play you can see he cocks his arm but for some reason didnt throw it. Going forward I think he needs to just trust himself a bit more, as he looked to have made the right read.
  10. In regards to the above, the first point is easily correctable imo and wasnt an issue the previous games, so I think that shouldnt be a problem going forward. The second point is obviously for the coaches to determine, but to me he seemed alright, some plays and inconsistency but thats a rookie thing that he can only get down by repetition in game situations. Third point - like you said Allen appears to be close. In my opinion, the best learning he can do going forward is on the job, with real live bullets flying. Now I am not saying he should start necessarily game 1 (it may help him to see how to prepare and dissect the non vanilla schemes for a couple weeks) but I would rather get the rookie his lumps sooner this year so we do not have to go through it next year
  11. The Bills tried one in the Carolina game....
  12. Yes ideally he could have made two throws to avoid sacks, 3 of them I say werent really on him. However the fact that he is a rookie, means he will need more from time to time. For instance, he missed the one throw to 14 (Kerley?) and ideally he would have just checked it down then, but he didnt even have time for that it looked like
  13. I thought I heard murphys was the easiest with us being able to save cap next year if needed and I think Stars we save 1 mil next year and more the year after if cut, I am sure someone will clarify though
  14. I think they can get out of both of these contracts pretty easily if im not mistaken
  15. I voted for Chuck Schumer once
  16. I dont believe that was true, I was reading another article on here the other day, was from teh Cincy equivalent of Buffalo Rumblings, the Bengals offered him a multi year deal (but with not much guaranteed) so he took the shorter deal here with more guaranteed money, basically betting on himself
  17. LOL I wonder if that guy on the ring post missed the spot???
  18. That aint a buffalo, thats a bear with horns! WTF
  19. My dad is 73, played OL for Princeton for a year or two back in the 60's, he has had his meniscus repaired via surgery, but I think he would be an upgrade at this point. Should be well rested imo
  20. Interestingly enough, I think he is probably the best of the Qbs to start behind this horrible OL due to his mobility and size. That being said, I think we need to let Peterman take the lumps of the first few games at least (Balt, SD, Minnesota, all defenses that will destroy our OL) then bring him in if needed. He cant really learn how to play from the pocket if there is no pocket.
  21. I can kinda understand the desire not to change in the middle of a game, but we are talking about a one game fix (and likely partial game fix) where we could go out and sign a replacement if the guard that got hurt is out extended period of time for the following games. To me, that risk is less than risking not playing your best center.
  22. Aikman was 1-15 iirc and Manning was 3-13
  23. I dont get the swing thing means he cant start, if a guard gets hurt, move groy and bring bodine in, if groy gets hurt bring bodine in. Not sure why that means he cant start at C
