    Yup, need a good CB regardless of Hairston’s situation because it’s only a matter of time until Benford is out.

    DB tugged right on the center of his collar preventing him from going up to get the ball. It was very sneaky and the refs missed it.

    The Pats DL totally dominated our OL right from the start. When that happens, you get games like this. We were never winning at the line. The best we got was a temporary stalemate.

    Im not panicked but I don’t see how we move forward with this secondary. CB needs to be in the building quickly and the LBs need to wake up. DL and run defense looked much improved to me. I’m not worried about the offense.

    Can anyone think of a past example of a defensive HC that had a very successful team but his side of the ball sucked and is the reason why the team can’t get over the hump? I can’t.

    I was kidding. You asked a question that can’t be answered in the middle of a season. For me, I just want to be free’d of this defensive nightmare so give me any offensive minded guy and then choose a new defense. If that defense stinks, get another one. See, we don’t have that freedom with McD and it’s been absolute torture for almost a decade.

    They shelved the 12 and 13 personnel version of the offense and just played a regular offense. I guess they realized that they can’t bully a bigger, more physical team, and this version of the offense just isn’t very good unless you catch a team by surprise like the Ravens game. Trouble ahead.

    He only had 1 good season. Seen as widely inconsistent and wasn’t expected to be resigned next year. This either frees up money for a big trade/replacement or it’s the beginning of a fire sale in Baltimore.

    Their fans saw him as a bust. Free’d up 9 million in cap.

    I agree but how do you draft defensive players for a scheme that players can’t naturally excel in? It was doomed from the start. The scheme doesn’t play to players natural abilities.

    Sal always tries to paint a picture that it’s somehow the fans fault when Coaches and players don’t execute. Oh, well fans were complaining about the lack of passing down the field and this is what happens. Yes, the fans did that! Totally!

    I don’t remember seeing much of the 13 personnel stuff. Where did it go?

    Their defense went from worst to well above average in 1 offseason and ours has been consistently bad against good QBs for almost a decade now.

    We need 2 CBs. 1 to start right now, and 1 to finish when we lose 1 due to injury. This season is pretty much a repeat if McD tries to do the split time thing with White and Hairston, like he was planning with Strong and White. White needs to be off the field. Benford and Rapp are also huge liabilities with injuries. We need multiple secondary players asap.

    We haven’t really done that in years, especially at home. It’s always been terrible quarters in each game in the McD era but the quarter usually changes each year. First it was starting slow, then awful 3rd quarters, etc. It unique to McD.

    It was a terrible night for the secondary but the rest of the D (minus Milano) wasn’t all that bad. Much improved I’d say but teams will just target White all day so it doesn’t really matter. Rapp and Benford are very average players too. Big trouble ahead unless the lineup changes and we can’t count on rookie Hairston to save us.

    Choosing familiarity with scheme (Tre and others) over skill will probably cost us the number 1 seed. Not at all surprising for McD.

    Yeah but he fooled most of the fan base and still has his job.

    If Keon must get looks, they have to be crossers. He will never win going down the sideline.

    Defense is keeping us in it. I mean, they suck, but they’re doing all they can. Trey out there jumping around like a flying squirrel.
