  1. I’m not surprised Allen went to the end zone because Diggs had just dropped the last pass (maybe 2?)thrown to him. He couldn’t catch anything all night.
  2. I think the Bucs are the only team that was ranked poorly. They didn’t get going until late so they probably weren’t top 10. All of the rest had Top 10 offenses except for the 49ers I’m guessing?
  3. Yes, the difference is that the top defenses now aren’t the 2000 Ravens. The Chiefs are the only team in recent memory that has won a SB with a defense ranked lower than 5. (without checking) Rams #1 Bucs #1 Remaining teams this year: KC #3 or 4 Ravens #1 49ers #2 Your probably can’t be worse than #8 and win a SB. If #8 is what you’d call serviceable, then I agree with you. You’re not winning with the #15 ranked defense unless they drastically improve in the playoffs like the Chiefs did last year.
  4. The top 3 defenses advanced. That shifted this season. Even last years SB was two top 5 defenses. Philly was #1 I believe.
  5. Just this weekend alone: Detroit marches down the field late and scores. They weren’t purposely killing any clock. Bucs get the ball back with 1:30 and the Detroit defense stuffs them and gets an int. Game over. 49ers march down the field and score late. They also weren’t killing all of the clock. Packers get the ball back and SF defense stuffs them and gets an int. Game over. Both teams playing at home in the playoffs. Why can’t McD(defensive guru) do what every other playoff team can do?
  6. They had totally stuffed our run by that point. We had no options to run out that much clock. That’s extremely naive and unrealistic to expect that from an offense. You see an opening to score, you take it. Good teams have defenses that can hold. We do not, not even when healthy. We basically practiced those clock killing drives all season long and were incapable of doing it, even in the Steelers game. Your offense should not also have to be your defense. Why was McD fixated on practicing long drives to end games? Because HIS defense sucks.
  7. This feeling is mentioned in another thread. We are the Chargers now. Everyone including our own fans will expect us to lose and we will keep losing. Laughter comes next. We just had another WIdE RIgHT for gods sake. I can’t believe he sent Bass out there. I knew this would happen but I did not expect that! McD is busting out the oldies.
  8. It’s absolutely ridiculous what he’s being asked to do to mask an incompetent defensive coach.
  9. And then KC would’ve scored 3 plays later. You still need a defense to win a championship and we don’t have a quality DC, scheme, or players. It doesn’t matter what style of offense we have.
  10. It isn’t just the Chiefs. He can’t beat the Bengals either. He’s the redheaded stepchild to all of the main contenders.
  11. Our defensive guru makes Josh change style and tempo at the snap of his fingers at various points of games because he doesn’t want his awful defense on the field. His specialty. A defensive guru should want Josh to score as quickly as possible so he can get his defense back out there to get a quick stop and then score again!
  12. Yeah, it’s not happening under McD. The defense is “all time” bad after using all of the team’s resources on it. We really couldn’t be in a worse situation with a HC that’s also our DC. There’s no way to fix it.
  13. Brady should leave right now if he can. This ship is sinking.
  14. The defensive guru didn’t want his defense on the field.
  15. Bass, McD’s new scapegoat?
  16. It was the worst defense I’ve seen in a very long time.
  17. Don’t be silly. McD is all about inclusion. He just wanted the younger fans to experience their own “wide right.” What a guy!
  18. We need an offensive minded HC to field an above average defense. Yes, you read that right. We need a new DC with a new scheme to get over the hump. McD’s is broken and he won’t change it. It’s the only way.
  19. A HC is supposed to know his kicker. Bass hasn’t made an impressive kick in over a month. Shame on McD for even putting him out there. Now he will just use Bass as an excuse to save his job.
  20. It would be amazing if he did. This has gone on long enough.
  21. I agree. I think it’s the perfect time. Let a new regime work with Josh and if he doesn’t like it, or they don’t like it, trade him. He’s only running this back 1 more year under McD before he demands a trade anyway. Try to salvage it the best we can.
  22. Now is the time to tear it down. Get some fresh offensive minds in here and start dumping players on this awful defense. I would even say that trading Josh isn’t entirely off the table. He will want out after next season so we might as well get a record haul for him. But we can’t do any of this with McD in the building.
  23. Agree. If you trot out a bad defense in the playoffs every year then you don’t need a defensive HC. An offensive minded HC could put together an average defense. There’s literally no reason to keep him whatsoever. Plus, he’s an all-time choker now. You can’t fix that.
  24. You either fire McD or look to move Josh for a huge haul. It’s one of the other. This obviously isn’t working.
