  1. Yep, they could have. So could Carolina. The Bills didn’t care who they selected , and probably didn’t think the chances were high that it was Coleman. If they cared , they don’t make the trade. Were you in on the phone conversation?
  2. So you think they would trade with a team and cross their fingers that the player they coveted so much wouldn’t be selected ? Lol absolutely ridiculous. If they just had to have Worthy, they don’t make a trade there. It can’t be more obvious.
  3. They obviously didn’t have “ a guy” at 28 , so they traded back. If they really wanted Worthy at that spot, they don’t make the trade. This is pretty obvious, as is the fact they didn’t care what player KC wanted to take. Implying otherwise ( as these hot takes are ) is pure folly. I don’t “ know” that the Bills didn’t want a 160 lb WR , but it doesn’t appear they were very interested.
  4. So they got snookered out of Worthy ? Lol okay , they had no idea Andy Reid might want a WR . Fans of course knew this , however. Pure nonsense ! The Bills didn’t want Worthy, and didn’t care who the Chiefs were going to take. They didn’t have “ a guy” at that spot - hence the trade. These narratives are just plain dumb. As BB said, you do what’s best for your team and don’t worry about what another franchise is doing.
  5. Actually we do. The Bills would have simply stayed put and drafted Worthy if they had him higher or wanted to draft him. Thats fairly obvious.
  6. The Bills didn’t want that player. If they did they stay put and make the pick. Tyreek Hill 2.0 ? Lol I don’t think it’s that easy to find. Lots of small fast WRs don’t end up being Hill. Pretty dumb take, really. The Bills got a free pick for not drafting a player they weren’t taking anyway. No way to know, but good chance he’s there anyway. Could have made a trade to jump ahead of SF if they got nervous. They probably get him regardless and any “ controversy” is completely manufactured.
  7. No, I don’t believe they did. I’ve got to think there will be another addition , which Beane will deny right now.
  8. So Bills are actually at the cutting edge of evaluating here. INteresting.
  9. I think he did too. Just got to a point where the issues plus compensation made it worth doing. Heard HOU had expressed interest earlier and came back again with another offer after some time. Not sure if true, but I completely agree Beane planned on one more year with Diggs on the roster.
  10. Cap hit was this year or next , when Diggs would have been going on 32. Probably a cut at that time with no draft pick compensation. Why kick the can down the road again ? Loved Diggs when he was here, but clearly there were issues. I found Greg Cosell’s commentary on the situation interesting. He said in his opinion film breakdown showed that Diggs was no longer a #1 WR in the NFL and hadn’t been for awhile. Cosell isn’t one prone to hot takes and the like- he just evaluates the film. Just an interesting perspective on the player without the emotional attachment that we get as fans.
  11. Needed a Hardy to replace our Harty.
  12. That sounds like what the Chiefs have been doing Vs what we’ve been doing . Beane has filled holes with veterans at the expense of playing young players and getting them battle tested for the playoffs. They’ve been better than the Bills at this. We’ve sustained a lot of injuries and our more veteran team hasn’t performed at critical moments - particularly on defense. Isn’t this youth movement what we’ve been saying is necessary. Can’t have it both ways . Would’ve liked another WR in this draft but all these players seem to be filling holes left by aging veteran players or those not worth a big 2nd contract.
  13. Short of a trade for a veteran WR ( seems unlikely at this point ) Beane is not serious about competing for a championship this year.
  14. Can we just get another WR please ?
  15. They don’t have one. It’s really that simple. Not sure what Beane is thinking here .
  16. Given this regimes track record, its a good guess.
  17. If they were only drafting a WR in this draft then maybe. You’re not and have to look at the big picture of the team and entire draft. If they’re similarly graded with no red flags then you get value and move down. Personally I thought picking at 28 was less likely than moving up / down. Just figured there wouldn’t be a player they loved left on the board by then.
  18. If it’s WR then they had a group of WR with same/ similar grades ( not first round ) and knew they’d be happy with any of them. Gained picks in the process = win.
  19. Hmmm… you said “ risky , but “ . Why do I get the feeling if Worthy was the Bills pick and failed , you would be calling him “ Roscoe Parrish 2.0 , another Harty “ etc etc ?
  20. You always hear that teams are charged a premium for QB trade ups. Is that a myth or do teams inquire about who is being selected ? Or do they just not make the deal if there’s a chance it’s a player they want ? Probably the latter I guess , but it seems implied that teams know who is being selected.
  21. Their defense has gotten it done when needed . The Bills hasn’t.
