  1. Agreed. That’s why I wouldn’t be surprised to see Beane trade a ton of picks to get a guy at WR they see as elite.
  2. In all the wailing and gnashing of teeth this off-season, the reality is we really have just two “needs” right now: WR and S. And even safety is questionable given Edward’s coming on board. I tend to believe Beane when he talks. And he said the roster now is not what it will be in September. He also said the team needs to get more explosive. So I look for either a big move up to get one of the top 3 WRs, or a smaller move up in around 1 to get a kid that can take the roof off with speed. Then maybe a S, maybe a quick edge guy. Maybe a big RB late. But whomever will be a guy with however Beane wants to define explosive.
  3. Where are these holes? I’ll go position by position: QB: Josh. Duh RB: Cook and Williams. Pick up a road grader late in the draft OL: all set there, only lost Morse and picked up Collins for depth DL: all set at DT, might look at DE in the draft but have 3 guys there already LB: no holes there CB: have your starters, probably add a guy late S: have your starters in Rapp and Edward’s, backup with Lewis, probably draft another. So spend some capital to get a WR.
  4. We got a lot of sacks, just what we wanted, until the ACL.
  5. Saying Allen is rotting on the vine is perhaps the most ridiculously hyperbolic statement made on this board in recent memory.
  6. Beane has a plan. He wouldn’t make a move like this without one. And we’ll see it play out this month.
  7. Not much of a market for Diggs according to Greg Cosell.
  8. You have to assume both Allen and Brady gave their OKs.
  9. Then maybe he needs to adjust his style somewhat
  10. Should have an incomplete listed, but give it a C right now. Grade will change after the draft.
  11. Was a great run, but he’s 31 now and production fell off last year.
  12. It is a good decision if the dissection he was rumored to be causing was true. I cannot imagine this deal was made without Josh being OK with it.
  13. I think they’ll use this year’s 1 and next year’s one plus the #2 from the trade and move into the top 5-10. They walk away with one of the top 3 WRs in the draft.
  14. Hill at the peak of his career, Diggs on the downside of hi.
  15. Agreed. And while I’m surprised I think back to Bill Walsh who said it’s better to get rid of a guy a year too early than a year too late.
  16. Again, Andre Reed would like to say hi.
  17. I’ll believe it when I see it. But if true I assume they talked to Josh and he didn’t want to deal with the distractions anymore. Has to be a prelude to a move way up in round 1 for one of the top WRs in the draft.
  18. So when you say criticism of Josh has to stop you’re not serious. Looking back through this thread it strikes me there is actually agreement on many things: 1. Josh is a great QB. 2. People can accept that Josh can continue to improve on the mental or processing aspects of his game. 3. Deficiencies in other team aspects particularly on the defensive side and on coaching need to be improved going forward.
  19. I’m still confused. What can we say on the message board and what can’t we say?
  20. I think Favre is the floor for Allen. Allen has better physical talent and if he can add to that some of the mental aspect of a Montana he can be the best ever.
  21. Designed scramble would be an oxymoron one would think.
  22. So as Shaw and I have said, he is a great QB that can continue to improve on the mental side of his game. Is that kind of commentary allowed or do we have to stop because you say we must?
