  1. That's called putting your plan in place. They got rid of a malcontent in Dareus who was not playing to a level anywhere near where his contract said he should. They traded Darby and Watkins. Watkins I disagreed with but time shows he has not done much since he left. Darby one could argue they should have kept, but there was just an article in si.com about how they expect he won't get resigned by the Eagles. They knew they'd take a cap hit this year. One can argue about whether they could have restructured contracts or something else, but they decided to rip the band aid off rather than slowly pull on it. The success or failure of that plan will be dictated by how they use the excess cap dollars they'll have next year.
  2. Out of many disappointing things yesterday, he was the most disappointing. Didn't fight for the ball, didn't catch the ball. really terrible.
  3. You could hire a former GM. But recognize that being a former GM means you got fired from somewhere else. Let these guys work their plan.
  4. They may not turn it all around in a year. But they will bring in better players next year to be sure.
  5. It's going to be similar to guys like David Carr. And Aikman. And Peyton. Could go either way. It will come down to the intestinal fortitude of Allen. From what I can see right now, I think he can handle it. Hopefully.
  6. They have by far the most cap space of any team next year, plus all their picks. Where they need to fill in: O line. Need a couple guys there. D line. Need a good DE and DT. WR: Could use a couple to be sure. CB: Need one more They need to do their due diligence to be sure but they can plug a lot of these holes with their cap space and the draft. I will be shocked if they go 0-16. Last year after the Saints debacle we thought they wouldn't win another game and they made the playoffs. I'm not saying yesterday was acceptable by any means, but let's not get too ridiculous yet.
  7. I agree about the O line. The question is , given where they were with cap space, etc, what could they have done to improve it more? I would have liked to see another draft pick spent there, but as far as FAs they simply didn't have the cash to spend. and if you read stuff from writers around the league, there is simply a dearth of good O linemen in the league right now. So it comes down to coaching what you have, and Castillo isn't exactly drawing comparisons to Mouse at this point.
  8. How long have you watched the Bills? I have since 1960. So if you have done the same, you're qualified to say the worst ever. If not, you're not. Go back to the late 60's/early 70's.
  9. With Watkins, he has not done much since he left. So not much of an issue there, even though I still would have liked him to stay. Dares refused to be coached here, didn't play hard enough, and had a crazy big contract. Darby? Maybe not a great decision. People are all upset over the process. Well, they do have a process, and part of that was getting rid of all the bloated contracts, and getting rid of guys they felt did not perform up to those contracts. As for guys brought in? Benjamin? Horrible yesterday. Put aside his one drop, he did not fight for the ball. Just sad to see. Not worth the 3rd they gave up for him. Davis? If he's till hurt a bit we'll see. Star? Hard for me to evaluate these space eating DTs. Murphy? we'll see once he's healthy. As for guys they should have brought in? They need help on the O line, obviously. Were there guys they could have or should have brought in? Possibly, but their cap constraints and getting out from the bloated ones they had kept them from doing so this year. So you bring in second tier guys like Bodine. The problem there is you then have to coach them up, and you have to wonder if the O line coach needs to go. The process means you build primarily through the draft, and I like some of the guys they've drafted. Dawkins, Phillips, White. They got their Qb and MLB this year. Edmunds you could tell from yesterday is going to be a force. Allen will take the reins and he'll have a50?50 shot like all drafted QBs, but he at least seems to have the requisite physical talent and seems to rally the team around him. I thought they'd be 6-8 this year. May have to ratchet that down after yesterday, but then again last year they got blown out three times in a row and rallied back. So we'll see. I hope they bring in a O lineman, start teller, put Ducasse to pasture. A
  10. Objective analysis: Who they shipped off: Watkins, Dareus, Darby
  11. What can you say? They brought in McCarron. Peterman did well all preseason. Then he laid an egg yesterday. You can only go by what you see. And Peterman was doing well. Wouldn't surprise me if they sign a guy like Morre and cut Peterman this week. Allen's timetable just got moved up
  12. A veteran with game experience like a Moore would help in the film room. Not on the field
  13. They just drafted a guy that can play like an NFL QB. Interesting how so many talk about how you're nothing without a QB, they draft a guy , and all of a sudden it's that they should have focused on other areas. This past draft they got the leaders they'll need on O and D. I am concerned about these blowouts like everyone else. Andvthat is a failure all around, from coaching to players.
  14. When you lose by over 40 points the blame is on everyone .
  15. You don't dump coaches after one game. You can, however, dump players. I hope they bring in an O lineman and cut Ducasse. Let Tiller start. Maybe Bodine at C and Groy at the other G.
  16. I am not one to go off the rails and demand firings and so on. But they deserve whatever criticism they get for today.
  17. Liked: Allen and Edmunds Didn't like: The O line. Worse than I could have imagined. The D line and lack of pass rush. Wonder about: How McD will respond. I hope he sends a signal to his team that the kind of effort shown is inexcusable. If I were him I'd cut Ducasse or Lacey (jumping offside on a punt is ridiculous) and send a message.
  18. Well, I've watched since 1960 and I don't remember a worse one
  19. No I am not. I am asking why some folks are negative all the time. After today? Of course they deserve it. Not through the entire offseason.
  20. You are just a whiner waiting to criticize. Justifiable criticism was earned today. Enjoy bashing them; it's what drives you and others.
  21. Doesn't change at all. We stunk today. Still no reason for some posters to do nothing but post negatives. The question is why.
  22. I watched them in the last 60's-early 70's, and the bad years in the 80's. I don't think I've ever seen a worse performance.
  23. Murphy's on a play count. Time for Shaq to step up
