  1. Ok, to all flaming me, I’ll take the hits. Lucky was the wrong word; as Shaw said fortunate would have been better. I just want the Bills to win it all like everyone here, and when they play like they did yesterday they won’t make it. I still remember sitting with my dad and brother just shy of my 5th birthday, at the first game at the Rockpile in 1960. I had the joy of watching them win the two AFL championships, the misery of the late 60’s and early 70’s, the joy then of OJ in his prime. I’ve had the misery of coaches like Hank Bullough and Rex Ryan, and the joy of Lou Saban and Marv and maybe Sean. The misery of GMs like Harvey Johnson and Tom Donahue and the joy of Polian and Beane. The Super Bowl years, and the playoff run now with Josh leading the way. I’ve seen it all and lived it all. And the constant through all this is the fan base. All of us love our Bills even when they drive us batty. Last night’s game drove me batty so I reacted by my post. And other Mafia took me to task. And that is as it should be. Merry Christmas to my fellow fans. Here’s to victory in ‘24!
  2. Good points Shaw. Only thing I’d say is throwing back into the middle of the field is fraught with peril much of the time. But he was Good Josh that last drive for sure.
  3. I am a fan of 63 years now. I’m glad we won but disappointed in the way we played, and we can’t play like that again and win. If that’s wrong I don’t know what to tell you.
  4. That’s a better word. Should have used that one. I don’t know how many times I have to say that I love Josh and am glad he’s our QB. But he wasn’t good in the first half, threw a bad pick IMHO, but then found Good Josh and won it with the last drive.
  5. I always appreciate our give and take. You make a lot of excellent points
  6. I’ve said Josh became Good Josh in the second half. Thank God. I think the big difference with Brady was getting the run game going.
  7. Go back and watch last night’s game and tell me we couldn’t have played better.
  8. Again I disagree. Why can’t we expect Josh to play a little smarter?
  9. I did. There certainly have been QBs with single digit picks and dozens of TD throws. And if Josh did what I mention it makes it the best season. Put several together he could be the GOAT. I believe Josh has that ability.
  10. I respectfully disagree. I think Josh could end up being the GOAT if he can control the picks. Otherwise I fear he’s Favre or Rogers, a first ballot HOFer but a guy whose teams could have won more titles if he had been less reckless. Merry Christmas to you as well! And not depressed in the least.
  11. Yeah, I was sitting in the Rockpile opening day 1960 but I’m new to football. I’m glad they figured it out finally yesterday, but they did not play well overall and they need to be playing better to have a shot. I hope it was a wake up call.
  12. Again I don’t give a rat’s ass what other QBs do, but Mahomes has certainly had seasons with single digit Int’s. So did guys like Brady. Excuse me for hoping our star QB can aspire to being even better than he already is.
  13. They played better than most thought, we played worse than most thought. Thankfully we pulled it out.
  14. Statistical analysis is hard, I know. I’ve only had to do it in my job for 40 some years.
  15. Wrap your head around actual statistics. Each throw a QB makes is an independent event, with numerous variables affecting the outcome. If you throw into coverage, or across the field, or fail to read coverages, each of these independent variables affects the success of a single throw. A You cut down picks by controlling and minimizing the effect of the independent variables. Or, in your analogy, you cut down your STD risk by the 45 not being street workers. It’s a variable within your control.
  16. Hardy and Cook’s miscues almost killed us. The slow start drive me insane. Thankfully Josh became Good Josh the second half.
  17. I have seen a ton of truly terrible Bills football over the years. This year’s team has the potential to win it all, but needs to play better than last night to do so. How can anyone argue that? I’m sorry I’m not giddy over beating a team with a kid playing his first meaningful football at QB. I’m happy we did, but concerned about how we played. Has nothing to do with age. Again I don’t give a damn about other teams. I care how the Bills and their players play.
  18. If you would READ that comment was directed at the idea that one should compare Allen to other QBs as a way apparently to justify his throwing too many picks. Really? Throwing less than a pick a game is unrealistic? Get serious.
  19. I thought it would be a tougher game than many thought given teams play hard for interim HCs. But with our clear advantage in talent we should not have had it come down to a game winning FG with less than a minute left.
  20. Ideally? Zero. Reality? I would say less than 8 on the year. He should at most throw one every other game.
  21. Well that’s reality. If it’s so obvious why do so many have a problem with it? Because I love the Bills and have for 63 years.
  22. Of course I can. What an absurd statement to make. Josh’s play is on Josh as is Mahomes’ on him annd so on. To suggest otherwise is similar to being the kid who gets caught stealing a cookie out of the cookie jar and saying: Well Johnnie did it too. I think Josh is the most physically gifted QB in the league, one if the top 3 in the league. But a legitimate criticism is he throws too many picks. Why is that so difficult to accept?
