  1. Always enjoy watching the Bills!
  2. Yes. And everyone took them vs. 60-70%.
  3. Basic virology. Viruses have to infect cells to propagate. As they propagate they mutate. Vaccines prevent viruses from infecting cells ergo no propagation ergo no mutation.
  4. The point is the vaccines, especially the mRNA ones, worked very well against the initial and delta strains. Not as much against omicron it would appear.
  5. Yes. And 95% isn’t 100%
  6. No he didn’t.
  7. I said during the preseason we would lose our shot at a Lombardi due to Covid. And I’m sure fans of other teams said the same. I believe the owners should have mandated vaccination as soon as the vaccines cleared the FDA. Further, at this point if you’re vaccinated and not sick you should be able to play. I expect the latter will be the case with the omicron variant assuming it is as mild in the U.S. as it is elsewhere. Cur the freedom shouters and the vaccines don’t completely eradicate Covid crowd. When you join in I’ll destroy the arguments as they come up.
  8. To anyone my age it will always be the Fish
  9. I can’t copy it, but google Stacy Klutts. He is a pathologist who wrote a great article about the delta variant. Basically what he says is what we know, that both vaccinated and unvaccinated folks can harbor virus, but that vaccinated people start to lose viral load in about 5 days while unvaccinated harbor it much longer. And of course we know that the unvaccinated are at much higher risk of hospitalization and death. We’ll have to see what happens with the omicron variant. If suspicions are correct and it is even more infectious but not very virulent then the rules will change again.
  10. Exception, not the rule.
  11. Vaccinated guys can get back in much quicker. Beasley can’t.
  12. The discrimination between vaccinated and unvaccinated was because vaccinated were much less likely to spread the virus or get significantly ill. The omicron variant may change that, and if as suspected it is more infectious but less severe then at some point you have to start treating it like other viral diseases; you have vaccines and such but if you’re going to be stupid you take your chances. Bottom line still is that he could have chosen to be vaccinated, didn’t, and now he’s out of a critical game because of that choice.
  13. He got through last year without issue. So he had no problem following rules then right? And now it bit him in the ass, and because he’s unvaccinated and thus more likely to spread the virus he’s out. He could have made the choice to be vaccinated and did not. It’s on him.
  14. Again I hope Beasley will be OK because I don’t want any more people to die from this virus. But to say he’s missing the game not because of the virus but because of rules is simply ridiculous. The NFLPA and the league figured out the rules, and then amended the rules recently. Every single player in the league knew those, knew what was expected, knew the consequences. But Beasley chose to ignore them. And now pays the price. It would be akin to him going onto the field, throwing an illegal crack back on a guy, and then telling us the penalty had nothing to do with him not following the rules.
  15. One thing for sure, they can’t play Brown at LT again.
  16. If the norm for viruses occurs the more it mutates the less virulent it should become.
  17. Yes. And it doesn’t matter.
  18. Belicheat is the best ever at what he does, as sickening as it is to have to admit that. They will do things we don’t expect. He always does.
  19. If a guy is vaccinated and healthy I think they’re saying they can. But if they are unvaccinated they are going to have a much higher possibility of getting ill and a much higher chance of transmitting the virus. We are going to have to get more data on the omicron variant; right now it appears much more infectious but not near as virulent as other strains. If that is the case then I think the answer to your question will be they play. If not then they’d basically have to cancel the season.
  20. Watch. It will take another 2-3 weeks for the omicron variant to completely spread. Playoff teams will lose key starters. If we lose say Josh or KC loses Mahomes it will destroy any chance.
  21. They will come out throwing Sunday. No way Belicheat does the same thing he did the first game.
  22. Covid is going to decide the Lombardi this year.
  23. McD said earlier this week he’s out.
  24. I hope he does not contract a serious case. He has a family. That is the primary concern, football be damned. Having said that, I stated at the outset of this season Covid would cost us a shot at a title. And I am sure there are fans of each team saying the same. This year’s champion will likely have nothing to do with who the best team is, it will have to do with who gets the virus and/or the randomness of who of the vaccinated players get tested and turn up positive or negative. Total crap shoot.
