They bring a guard or two in, you’ll switch to complaining about CBs. They solve that you’ll beeyatch about the punter or something else. Everyone gets your little act by now.
I have always felt that, when Ralph was getting older, it was Littman who screwed things up. He had a small percentage ownership stake so he wanted to save $$.
Back in the day many criticized Overdorf when we didn’t keep guys or sign FAs. But I always believed he was just carrying out what the cheap SOB Littman wanted. But Overdorf as the cap guy (along with Beane of course) now has really done a heckuva job this offseason. Props to him.
I defer to your legal expertise, but wonder if having a grand jury in Texas, where conservatism and fealty to football abound, had anything to do with the failure to find criminal liability.
Beaser was a real asset for the offense. I did not agree with his covid stance, but he was one of the best at his position and a key element of the offense. But as I've said before, as Bill Walsh used to say better to get rid of a guy a year too early than a year too late. And with Ike coming back, the $$ can probably be better spent on a CB or another interior O lineman.
One can play the what if game for any team in the league. It’s a stupid game. You judge by what was done, and Beane and his team wanted Allen, got in position to take him, and did so. Game, set, match.
