  1. nice pickup by the devils. Shrewd move. This is the type of move I want the Sabres to make (not this specific trade since I don’t see the leafs doing this trade in the division). I’d actually like to see Kevyn Adams make a couple moves like this. This seems like a truly unique opportunity to pick up good players from other team for nothing but cap space. And we actually have some cap space to take advantage of this situation. I sure hope Adams uses this opportunity. And I hope the Pegula’s let him. Just look at all the players that have basically been given away in the last few days. If there was ever a time to weaponize our cap space, it’s now.
  2. takes him right to UFA.
  3. He was pretty decent in Dallas and Vegas. Had 22g a couple seasons ago. Down year last year. It fills a need. He plays C and should definitely add a bit more offense to our bottom 6. I’ve read he’s good in the locker room too.
  4. listening to this interview (especially the second half) doesn’t exactly leave me hopeful that we are going to be seeing any major changes to this team.
  5. Edit: done deal. I figured he must have wanted out of buffalo when he signed in AZ for that price. But then John Vogl retweeted this: somewhat puzzling if true.
  6. these: https://www.thealmondtree.com/product/cashews-honey/ They are amazing.
  7. why? 🤷‍♂️ Meh. Decent 4th liner, good on the PK. Not too impressed with Kevyn Adams signings so far. Nothing he’s done so far outside of the Staal trade has moved the needle at all. Still holding out hope though. Lots of good UFA’s left. Lots of potential trade targets.
  8. the end of this interview makes me nervous that we won’t be big players in UFA or trades. He made it sound like we will be looking for lesser role players and leaving room for some of the young kids. He’s saying the model is to build from within, and I get that. But we need to win now. With how cheap players are being traded for because of how tight money is, this feels like such a unique opportunity to get good veteran players for cheap. I hope they don’t pass it up because of some internal budget. Hopefully I’m just reading too much into his comments. 😂
  9. I like it. Now get Larry done. Our 4th line was great. No reason to try and “fix” it. It’s the middle 6 that needs fixing. Staal was a good first step, but lots more work to be done.
  10. Bummer. Looks like there will probably be no Bills football this Sunday. I’m wondering if they’ll move the game to the end of the season and only play it if it’s necessary (like if the game has playoff implications). It would kind of piss me off if the Bills are the only team playing a week 18 game though and all the other playoff teams get (basically) a bye week.
  11. Yeah it’s definitely louder than my Xbox. I have the PS4 slim which I guess is a bit better than the original PS4 as far as noise, but it’s still noisy for sure. I read that the new PS5 runs a lot quieter. We will see in about a month!
  12. Look at that heat sink! I also really like that they have 2 dust collector ports able to be cleaned with a vacuum.
  13. sounds good to me! https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/381855/john-jason-peterka
  14. boy, ain’t that the truth. Yeah I was watching and had a similar reaction.
  15. One of my favorite resources for OHL prospects. https://ohlprospects.blogspot.com/2020/05/my-final-top-50-ohl-players-for-2020_28.html He also says this: edit - I won’t lie. When the Sabres were on the clock and both Rossi + Perfetti were there I wanted one of them. But mainly because they seemed to be the consensus higher ranked prospects according to most stuff I read (and I’ll bet it’s the same for most people who are upset). But as mentioned above, clearly NHL scouts were higher on this kid than the internet scouts and average fans were. Im willing to wait and see how this plays out. Quinn definitely adds an element that this team is missing - pure goal scoring and more important - a net front presence. Someone who actually likes to get to the dirty areas in front of the net. He made his living there last season. I also love his personality and (reported) work ethic & drive to get better. I think that’s extremely important. You can have all the talent in the world but with no drive it’s wasted (see: Alex Nylander). My main concern is that last season was an outlier. He quadrupled his previous goal output and had a pretty high shooting percentage. But he also seems like a late bloomer and he just started to focus solely on hockey in the last few years. He’s said that he didn’t really even have a good training regime until recently. I feel like there is a lot of untapped potential with this kid. Who knows, maybe he will end of being the steal of the draft! I’m excited to see what he can do with real professional coaching and training.
  16. I cringe a little every time these players come face to face like that after games, hugging and stuff. I fully understand it’s a tradition, but then at the very least make players put on masks before the post game handshakes and greetings. Or if they don’t want to wear masks then enforce social distancing. Make them each stay on their half of the field when they meet at the end of the games or something. I know it’s inconvenient but it’s sure better than a covid breakout. All it’ll take is one guy who’s a super spreader to infect dozens of players. I get that they already came in close contact playing, but why not eliminate any potential risk they can?
  17. I’d certainly rather them get Trevor Lawrence than the Jets... 😂
  18. I chuckle at people who hardly follow hockey, or at least prospects (you have to be a pretty dedicated hockey fan to watch junior hockey and follow prospects in all the different leagues. It’s hard to even get the games on TV in some places), who get furious about a draft pick they know very little about (besides whatever few articles they read or highlight videos they watched) because “reasons”. It just becomes group think. A huge crap shoot. There are very few can’t miss goalie prospects, and even then they usually take 3-5 years to hit the NHL. Meanwhile goalies drafted in the 6th round pass them by... Drafting goalies is tough. The Sabres used to be pretty damn good at identifying goalies though. I think some of that had to do with Jim Corsi.
  19. Jack Quinn. I had a feeling we would draft this kid when I read his back story. Let’s hope he turns into a player for us!
  20. Kevyn Adams pre draft press conference NH, draft starts tonight at 7pm EST! https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2020/10/05/2020-nhl-draft-date-time-order-of-picks-for-all-31-teams/ (^ draft info: date, time, order of picks, etc)
  21. new embedded series premier.
  22. was a bit surprised by this at first, but it’s only $400k over his qualifying offer. If he turns into a legit top 6-9 player in years 2 and 3 it could be a bit of a bargain. Seeing this deal I’m guessing he’s likely penciled into the lineup Buffalo this season. could Reinhart be trade bait?
