Miami Herald: Dolphins players have turned on McDaniel
Buffalo716 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I spit out my tea Back to the premise of the thread.. I hope they keep McDaniel because I think he's decent enough to keep them from a top five pick... But I don't think he's good enough to consistently win in the AFC East Especially with the bills and a New England team that is getting better I don't think he's anywhere near a top 10 NFL coach -
What's your Team and who are draft pundits under, and overhyping?

It's because his recruiting status and tangibles He looks the part, he has a big arm, surprisingly athletic for his size... He's just missing some stuff in between.. I do think he will have a good season for Penn State tho -
A handful of players have houses here and are around

But what about the people who can't pay tuition And they're there because they're a three-star football / basketball player with a 4.0 GPA from Gary Indiana And they want to play in the ivy League not ball st Yale beat Baylor in the NCAA tournament a few years ago... They certainly get good players .. and not all of their parents can pay for Yale or Harvard They have ways around it -

It's still D1 football Division 2 has a tough walk on process.. I don't care if it's ivy league it's still not easy Harvard typically does get a good amount of kids trying to walk on... I don't know about the rest of the ivy league but it's all division one football -

I was not trying to use McDaniels record as a walk on to say NFL football players would view him as a peer Somebody called him a nerd lol.. and all I said was he was a division one football player.. which usually means you're tough That was it And it is technically the truth.. and then I went on to the spiel about how hard Walk-Ons have to work and how hard they have it... And that a walk on who makes it 4 years has to have a lot of grit and toughness I've never once tried to say McDaniel could be an NFL wide receiver, he didn't have the talent to play in the Mac lol.. I know he doesn't have that talent What I was trying to point out was how much toughness you need get through 4 years as a walk on.. which I don't think a dweeby nerd would have that toughness lol -

So his stupid head coach brought him up to varsity? The guy who said he was trash brought him up to varsity? That's interesting.. and I never said he was a great football player He had to have been showing more than the other JV players to get called up to varsity at a point.. who would bring up a kid to varsity if he was crying every practice and a liability of getting hurt I never said he was great I said he had to have worked really hard and showed something to stick around as a walk on for 4 years and make the varsity.. most Walk-Ons last one season He played 4.. he had to have worked hard and had some skill and toughness to get moved up... That is the only thing that I have said is that it's really hard he had to have worked hard and shown something -

I never said Mike McDaniel had talent to be playing or starting I said Walk-Ons have to bust their asses and work very very hard I said Mike McDaniel had to have been super tough and a very hard worker to be a four-year walk on at a division 1 School And I thought ivy League schools gave out academic scholarships not athletic scholarships.. regardless they still recruit https://news.springisd.org/2024/02/spring-isd-learning-fair-ignites-collaboration-growth-for-200-educators/ Dr. Hinojosa also took the opportunity to spotlight some outstanding student achievements, including Winship Elementary fourth-grader Abigail John, a published author, and Dekaney High School senior Christian Nwosu, who earned a scholarship to Harvard University. Last sentence that I copied talks about Christian nwosu a three-star defensive end who says earned a scholarship to Harvard.. he's on their football team but they obviously gave him something -

You're funny I literally never said he was a great football player.. I know how hard it is to walk on at a division one football school it's hard He had to work hard you think he twiddle this thumbs So you're saying your friend didn't go to practice or work hard? They just let him on the team to twiddle his thumbs? Try to walk on at Harvard today and see what happens Walk-Ons have to work extremely hard that's my point -

I understand how it works I know people who have walked on at every conference in the last 30 years from the ACC to the Big 12 And I know how hard Walk-Ons have to work -

A lot of the players are there on academic scholarship to offset And 95% of the football team is also not walking on at Yale.. they are getting recruited out of high school -

Send me the quote where his head coach said he did not practice with the team and he was bad at football , and they only let him on because they felt bad for him I fully understand he wasn't good enough to play in a real game at Yale.. BUT there's plenty of players who are not playing lol of course Walk-Ons aren't getting burn.. how many of the other Walk-Ons got playing time? Dude you think you can just go to Yale and they'll accept you on the varsity program because you're annoying And won't leave? I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn You are the one grasping at straws because he clearly had to practice good enough to make the varsity team.. they could have left hin on the JV for 4 years Nobody is saying he was a superstar at Yale.. he was good enough to make the team as a walk on and eventually make the varsity roster as a walk on No division 1 program is letting you on their varsity program because you're annoying.. he had to have a lot of grit toughness and determination -

Dude he literally made the varsity program He had to have been doing something in practice to at least reach walk on at the varsity program You're just a hater.. if he spent four years on the JV team sure He literally made the varsity program.. which they don't do just for s**** and giggles "All told, McDaniel spent four years as a wide receiver at Yale -- two on the JV team before being elevated to varsity his junior year. His name may not show up in the Yale stat book, but McDaniel established himself as a leader, a player-coach, a film room guru and, pound-for-pound, one of the strongest players on the team. He attended the school and continued his football dream as a player, but quickly realized he was a long shot to ever see the field." You need to be practicing good to make your way up to even a walk on on the varsity squad You cannot spin that into he was coaching on the sidelines for 4 years.. you do not make a varsity team is a walk on so you can twiddle your thumbs on the sidelines.. he had to have been practicing hard He had to have been pound for pound super tough and good enough to practice with the varsity team -

One double A is division 1 football... fBS or FCS now both D1 And walking on and making a team is very impressive.. because of how hard Walk-Ons are treated.. they have to give 120% effort every single day.. they get busted up in drills basically being a hitting dummy.. they get chewed out by coaches a lot... And they're not on scholarship And they're expected to do every single thing of scholarship player does I respect nothing more than a division 1 walk on You are severely discrediting his accomplishments There was probably a 140 kids that walked on the day he did.. and they took 20 They didn't take him just cuz he was smart he had the practice every single day.. he had to practice against cornerbacks and special team drills and get hit He wasn't sitting in the corner twiddling his thumbs FYI 95% of Walk-Ons don't have a chance of playing.. there's like 1-2 kids per tryout who could crack the actual game day roster after a couple years he absolutely was a division one football player and had to put in work He also was on Yale's varsity program for 2 years as a walk on so he obviously was improving and working hard -

Dude you have no idea how hard it is to walk on to a division one program If you walk on to a division one program through the walk on trial you are a division one football player You did not walk on to a division one team and make it You literally have to be one of the first people in last people out coaches treat you like crap and still expect you to give 120% every single day Walk-on leave practice bloody because how much physical abuse they take in a practice -
Buffalo taxpayers are not going to pay for it lol It's going from Erie county which has a massive budget to the city which does not.. Hochul was a part of the bills project because the state money ... Unless New York state is giving money for the sabres arena she's going to have no part of the project

He played division 1 football it's not like he's a pencil pusher lol You need to have a lot of football talent to play division one, even walking on you need to have a lot of grit and toughness -
Willie Mays and Hank Aaron weren't even in the Hall of Fame at that time!

McDermott didn't cost them anything lol The biggest mistake ever is fans and armchair GMS thinking players on the team care about draft position Dude if you're on the team that gets the first overall pick in the NFL draft.. and you're a fringe player on that team.. you're losing your career The smartest players are guys on bad teams who bust their asses week 14 through 17 trying to play good and put something on tape for another team nobody is trying to be on the worst team in the league cuz your next stop is out of a job

I think he is a better football player who is 20-25 pounds lighter Andreeson has a great frame built more Sam or Mike Dolac is squarely a weak side linebacker with versatility enough for a 43 or 34... Which will help but he needs to get out into a spot to succeed That said I give him a 5.9 grade with his versatility for special teams play and ability to grow at will Slightly higher than andreeson

The bills don't even have a deep threat rn that 32-year-old James lofton was on the bills Let alone he's a pure outside receiver We have plenty of guys to move chains we don't have consistency which is what he was That's why I choose him Moulds will definitely be the popular pick.. but I think lofton would give an NFL team a lot more variety Even at that age he ran better routes than moulds ... Of course he isn't what Eric is physically
-
Yea for sure ... If we're talking in their prime it's not even a question But moulds had NFL quarterbacks Force feeding him the ball and he is what he is.. a supremely talented football player who could have been better But that's on him not the quarterbacks.. because guys like Josh Gordon could go for 1,700 yards with skeletons throwing him the ball.. even a low level NFL quarterback can force feed a superstar Eric moulds got a lot of targets his entire career.. he isn't some what if he had better quarterbacks With all his targets he is what he is.. maybe one of the most physically talented wide receivers ever who had consistency issues
