  1. Because he was a 290 pound tight end that never played tackle before He had alot of technique to learn and how to read stunts and twists which isn't easy
  2. That is the physical ramifications of the game Every player knows what they're signing up for I've had over a dozen concussions in my life playing football and it's certainly affected my health. People used to die on the gridiron it's a violent game
  3. They're making millions of dollars playing a game.. No players have anything to complain about
  4. Yeah using that word has a super negative connotation Soldiers kill people in war Buffalo Bill was not roaming the wild west slaughtering native Americans
  5. I'm pretty sure Buffalo Bill made many of the natives rich for the time They were traveling all across Europe making money
  6. A bill is an American dollar And we are the Buffalo Bills because we make it rain!
  7. I actually called him a scout in my last post. He wasn't even technically in the army He was a civilian scout
  8. Well the name isn't the Buffalo Bill It's the Buffalo Bills, and they do have merchandise that says bills
  9. He was a civilian scout. Who cares, besides crazy people The history of humans is a history of warfare. Fighting wars and then preparing for wars in peacetime We will never stop fighting, because there's evil that wants to take good down And that was true 2 thousand years ago and 200 years ago and today.. if serving in the military is bad, then you might as well get rid of the American military
  10. I don't believe Buffalo Bill Cody murdered many native Americans he was a civil war soldier, and created Buffalo Bill's wild West show which had natives in prominent roles
  11. Yes I'm a felon
  12. Yeah he already wants a title fight lol His striking was real impressive and he literally knocked the dude out cold AND he had the grace to not throw another bomb in Jab sharp hook combo was beautiful
  13. I've been watching literally since UFC 1 which was a tournament and I love mixed martial arts As a longtime fan and somebody who has also practiced some martial arts, I could easily separate what's really entertaining and what's a brilliant performance Usman had a brilliant strategy and performance because he's a champion and the only thing that matters technically is winning As for putting on a show, it's not really the greatest But you can't fault the world champion for having a game plan to win a fight
  14. Oh I totally understand that. It's a brilliant strategy and I always tell my friends who just want brawling to watch Muay Thai or kickboxing But it's really not as entertaining as standing toe-to-toe in the middle of octagon if you're being honest It's not like there was any high-level Jiu-Jitsu or wrestling going on, just a lot of outmuscling and wearing down your opponent. Which was a brilliant strategy, just not as entertaining as the other fights
  15. Masvadal fight was kind of a snoozer But the woman fight between namajunas and andrada was amazing. Those 2 chicks were warriors And stood in the middle of that octagon and threw bombs for 15 minutes. Much respect
  16. They are easily the best at developing talent right now Because they have a very pro scheme on the offensive line, and a lot are ready day 1
  17. Actually offensive line is harder to play than ever before and there's totally a shortage College lineman are not coming in prepared like they used to, and it's taking extra long for them to find their groove because the college spread Their technical skills , communication skills and knowledge of scheme are all a lot worse than 15 years ago. The only positive of the spread on offensive lineman, is that it tires out the defense quicker and the pace is to your advantage But skills-wise we are at an all-time low for offensive line play. And the NFL still does not run a majority spread offense
  18. I think Jackson needs to understand that people of all ethnicities Creed's and religions have been put through hard times And that he needs to understand what he's quoting. Which he clearly doesn't It's just anti-semitic trash and not based in fact And I don't have numbers but their were Jewish slave owners. Just like there was Baptist and Presbyterian slave owners
  19. I was trying to be conservative on some numbers so I thought I said atleast 50% didn't own slaves But I brought out my notes and some states are higher and some are lower but it averages out to about 25%-30%. With only 1% being massive plantation owners with 100+ slaves... The 1% are always the most powerful in any time period
  20. I certainly would like to hear. I did a quick reply and Im far from perfect and like to learn everyday I did not bring out my notebook so I just went off memory and my studies best I could
  21. Exactly why I think you can't paint the whole South in one light And I meant a hundred thousand Southerners fought for the Union, not 10k So I think everybody realizes the negative impact that slavery had on this country, its an abomination.. but I think it's also equally important, to realize that there were hundreds of thousands of Southerner's who fought to free the slaves, and millions who never owned them That needs to be taught as well I love history I think all parts need to be taught and I'm pretty unbiased to American history because my family is first generation American. My grandfather fled Germany while the Nazis were rising to power
  22. @DrDawkinstein and I agree, there should be more statues of abolitionists, and underground railroad heroes Those are real heroes I do believe there are a few scattered around but not nearly enough
  23. I don't disagree that slavery had a huge impact on the way of southern life, and that some people got fat off of it But there were plenty of Southerners who never owned slaves and fought for the Union and died to free the slaves. Those should be the southerners that are remembered That is the southern history that people should be educated about And it was a good discussion
  24. Besides being a football player scout and Coach my whole life, I do have a history degree and it's a passion of mine And again I don't think you could say anything good about slavery or the Confederacy But the antebellum South was also a way of life , not just about slavery. the north was hustle and bustle and industry The antebellum South was the opposite, slow pace of life, agriculture, no cities Atleast 50% of Southerners didn't own slaves, and not all were for it so it's hard to sometimes say everybody in the antebellum South was for slavery. Over 10000 Southerners fought for the Union. The white poverty level in the antebellum South was very high as well, they weren't all rich Playing devil's advocate, you said there's nothing to be proud of from that time.. what if your ancestors, freed slaves and gave them land and protected them? It happened, and that would certainly make me proud if my family did that As a whole , the time period was the darkest part of our history and there's no excuse for it But with all parts of history, nothing is cut and dry right down the middle. There were good Southerners fighting the good fight
