To play devils advocate and show it’s not just A south east thing… and that players can be found anywhere If you are a top high school QB Prospect from Western NY…. And you want to play high major college football You need to go to one of the top Catholic schools.. Canisius … Canisius will send you to elite 11 camps if you’re good enough That will give you a high major three star or four star rating… Ala Christian Veilleioux Christian starts getting offers from every program from penn state to Michigan and Tennessee …. They want him to play higher level football So he goes down to Virginia to play big Time ball for two seasons… And ends up at Penn State… That is the life of a quarterback recruit not from a big-time area You can be found in the northeast… But to really better your success you might need to move

So recruiting offense and defense have varying levels of success right now for a number of factors The defensive talent is a lot easier to scout because… It’s pretty easy to see a really good high school pass rusher… or DT … If you have a 6 foot tall corner running a 4.4 and he’s long… hard to miss the elite talent On the offensive side of the ball there is a lot more spread out talent …. There are hundreds of good high school running backs every class… hundreds .. Hundreds of good WRs … so the difference between a 5* WR and a 3* WR might be development… not actual talent … also stacked dynasty HS programs with 11 D1 offensive players have made it hard to tell who really is elite and who feeds off people The goal of top college programs… Ohio state , Alabama , Georgia etc is too win now So that means they want the best most college ready players… Those 4* and 5* guys are closer to being college ready at a major program … The last thing they want to do is develop a prospect for four years Prospect rankings are for the college level not pros.. There are a lot of four-star or five star players who have not a lot of NFL potential for various reasons The high school quarterback circuit is ran out of California… Those California quarterbacks are going to camps since they’re 12 13 years old… If you don’t ever go out to Those California quarterback camps or the elite 11 system You will not be at five* or 4*quarterback… The rating system is absolutely biased towards California quarterbacks since they are usually wayyyy more developed than most QBs And although Football players can receive scholarships in eighth or ninth grade… College programs cannot contact a player until January 1 of his sophomore year

It’s hard to say he had a deep ball game when he didn’t complete many balls 30+ yards downfield in Buffalo
-
Trent Edwards sucked lol The best game of his career was the game AFTER the concussion! He was a mediocre quarterback who had a run of success like 100 other backups …. Got figured out and faltered Just because you hit a few deep balls doesn’t mean you have a deep ball game
-
That is just not true He was the offensive coordinator of the Jaguars… Calling plays for the ghost of Blake Bortles…. And made him look like an NFL quarterback Throwing for 4400 yards and 35 touchdowns… Which would’ve been franchise records in Buffalo before Allen Was part of the staff that helped them reach the AFC championship game Took Kyle Orton off the couch and had the bills within one game of the playoffs… Orton threw for over 4000 yards He’s not the dumpster fire some think

Before he got hurt last year… His three year run Was absolutely elite His passer rating when targeted phenomenal… Pass break ups. phenomenal…. Yards allowed per route … phenomenal He’s coming back from a torn ACL at the most athletic position in the NFL… He’s not 100% There’s never been an average corner who’s been named all pro… let alone he’s shut down amazing receivers

No it’s definitely to get the ball up an 1/8 of an inch Tools like this have been used in high school football and college until the 80s it’s absolutely to help get the ball a fraction of the grass

'22 draft class is really rounding into form
Buffalo716 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea Singletary needs to be the closer… When the game is on the line he is our toughest running back to tackle and has great intensity and ability to get tough yards -
Bryce Young vs CJ Stroud - Both in the Draft now
Buffalo716 replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes I understand five stars fail I’ve been scouting and coaching and playing for 30 years But not every four-star and even five star players(QBs) are created equal… It was clear watching the elite 11 in 2019 that Stroud was every bit as good as Bryce young and better than DJ Uiagalelei … Rankings are slightly subjective especially in the top 30-100 Jackson Arnold is not the number one quarterback in this class… And I’ve seen him live and I’m gonna go on a limb and say he’s the best quarterback in the country in hs… better than arch by a good amount for the college game … Malachi a close 1B or 2 I’ve seen arch Manning play and I wouldn’t even make him a five star.. let alone #1 player in the country… Malachi , Nico and Arnold are better rn manning to me is a solid 4* guy with good pro potential but not the #1 guy rn and yes I like Bennett as a 6-7th rounder as a back up type Stroud should go ahead of young.. I just think he’s too small (young)tho I don’t think stroud is a big time prospect Levis is interesting…. Tons of people will love the physical potential of Anthony Richardson… But I don’t see it with him -
That’s football… Some people have concentration drops.., At every single level of football Knox’s Concentration drops from his rookie year are down probably 75%… So I don’t even think you could call it an issue compared to four years ago He’s worked extremely hard And he’s always been amazing at the hard catch

Bryce Young vs CJ Stroud - Both in the Draft now
Buffalo716 replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s easy to lie about your height or weight 40 years ago in football There’s no way they lied about his measurement at his combine or pro day.. They’re literally getting treated like cattle with a bunch of scouts around them lol You’re not measuring him at 69-70inches And getting away with marketing him at 72 Having watched every throw of his career He is downright terrible for the nfl game … Somebody will talk themselves into him because he looks the part But he’s gonna bust -

Stroud was a consensus top 2-3 QB in his class He wasn’t some walk on or buried on the depth chart like guys like Stetson Bennett he was considered an elite HS prospect -
Josh Allen Bashers, what's your solution?
Buffalo716 replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean probably both Josh Allen was literally throwing a ball out of the back of the Endzone in the playoffs last year that Dawson Knox caught I think that’s more improbable than the Shakir catch which is a really really good NFL coach… But not as improbable as Dawson catching a throwaway Almost 9-10 feet in the air and getting 2 In in bounds I think the scramble and the throw and Knox climbing the ladder and getting 2 in bounds is more improbable when you put it all together though live at the game my jaw was dropped when shakir made the grab -
Josh Allen Bashers, what's your solution?
Buffalo716 replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Where’s all the advanced data that says that’s the lowest percentage throw by Josh ever caught? I’ve definitely seen more improbable throws over 5 years -

It’s a divisional Game against a good team it’s hard to beat a good divisional team 2-3times… we took their best punch and fought back
