NFL wants to eliminate "hip drop" tackles
Buffalo716 replied to BaaadThingsMan's topic in The Stadium Wall
@PatsFanNH You can disagree with everybody here... And say that's how it's taught But there's a reason why few division 1 football players are coming from New Hampshire Horse collar is illegal because of the damage it can do ... This is the same principle You don't need to drop all your weight onto somebody's lower body to tackle them from behind.. and roll them up You can tackle people from the ankles and shins without breaking their tibia or fibia or ankle -
NFL wants to eliminate "hip drop" tackles

Maybe I'm not getting my point across clearly... I'm saying hip drops is a dirty tackle And most players know it's dangerous but they do it because it's effective... They don't think about doing it it just happens because it's an effective way to tackle from behind But if the league starts cracking down on it players will obviously stop doing it.. they do it because they get away with it -

People know what they're doing That was my point they just react and do it... They don't have to think about doing it they just do it -

In a game where people are flying around 20 miles an hour It's a game of reaction not thinking... You really don't think in the moment to drop your hips away from his legs... Dropping your hips on his legs is what helps the tackle You're dropping on him in the speed of the game Somebody is running away from you and you're running up to him closing distance.. you're not dropping your hips away from him , you are sticking to him like glue -
Eli refused to go to San Diego and Elway the colts because they wanted to avoid bad organizations

Well it's pretty obvious when you grab someone from behind , and just sit down all your weight on the back of his legs It's different than diving and making a tackle -
McD and Daboll hate each other probably 🤣
Buffalo716 replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well Sean McDermott doesn't call defensive plays 2 years ago And if you're going to let that cause friction... Then every time McDermott's defense gave daboll the ball back and they didn't score should also cause friction Why get into coaching if a loss will make you hate your peer -
There's already been rumblings that he would just go back to school rather than be drafted by the worst franchise So he certainly might be playing chess while the league is playing checkers ... Not that I think any rookie should get part-time ownership

I never said maye didn't have any athleticism... He has NFL size , and he can move .... Throws a pretty ball... Good feel in the pocket I'm not saying maye sucks .... Certainly not... He's gonna go in the top 10 Lots of good stuff Thing with Caleb , is he's not running to run... He's not trying to be a dual threat... He extends the pocket to throw not run... Ala Brett favre or Rodgers ... Favre was 6'2 220 Caleb might be 6'1 7/8 but he's thick He doesn't play like Lamar Jackson I didn't say one bad word about you or attack you... Saying if you think one bad game makes or breaks a prospect is not an attack I'm sorry
-
If you think 1 game makes or breaks a prospect lol Peyton Manning never beat Florida in 4 years ... ND outclasses USC on both lines ... They are more physical Even a couple rough outings wouldn't be the end of his hype
-
It has nothing to do with the school but the player USC's number one job.. is to get a quarterback who wins in college for them immediately... That means college ready That doesn't mean going to be a great quarterback in the NFL... Although going to USC doesn't disqualify that They are two different games and USC doesn't care about professional football But transcendent players can come from anywhere

Read My last updated part My friend is in Oklahoma booster who has met Caleb multiple times.. and he does swear he's 6'2... I've grilled him if he's 6 ft and he says he's definitely over that... Mike Vick was 5'11 7/8 I can see Caleb being 6'1 5/8 but he stands tall and isn't small out there ... I think he's bigger than DeShaun Watson
-
I probably am a little high at 6'3 Even mahomes was 6'2 and change at the combine He might be 6'1 7/8 223 or 6'2 even , but he looks thick out there... And his pocket awareness is the best in the country in college... Routinely extends plays 7 seconds with a Cannon But my friend is in Oklahoma booster... Has met Caleb multiple times and swears he's 6'2
-
I don't know if he routinely extends plays 5-6-7 seconds Herbert also Has a habit of coming up short in college and the NFL
-
Football's a team game... Peyton Manning never beat Florida Notre Dame is a terrible matchup for USC who is overrated It's Caleb Williams and nothing on defense... Oklahoma got better in the long run losing Lincoln Riley and Caleb Because now they have a defense
-
Herbert is Josh Allen light Going back to Oregon he never had the killer instinct They are not the same guy... They might be the same height and weight or close to it... But there arm strength , athleticism, and will the win do not come through the same on the football field Caleb might be shorter at 6'2 ish.. But he's thick...A cannon, can extend the play inside or outside the pocket ... Throws on the run and is an A+ creator Allen and mahomes are all pros who are A+ at creating... Crafty with big arms... Can move inside or outside the pocket and throw on run
-
You never know how 21-year-old kids will develop But not one GM will take Drake Maye over Caleb Williams I've watched their entire careers for both of them... Maye is closer to a Herbert rn while Caleb can be a mahomes Josh Allen type He's 6'2 220 in the right places ... Can extend a play for 10 seconds with a laser beam Drake Maye is a top 5 pick.. I've never heard of any of these rumors about Caleb but he's the #1 whenever he leaves

Lmao why would a football team in Western New York fly their flags at half mast for an actress with no relation to the schools

As a former corner who had to tackle plenty of bigger guys... Whether it was Chest to chest Or I angled to get his legs... Or I was chasing someone down across the field This was like the last think you would think of.. Its definitely dangerous -
Marlon is built like a prototypical boundary corner who is so good he can play anywhere I would never classify him just as a slot corner ... He's a terrific defensive back who can play all over the field Johnson has short arms for a boundary corner and could be exploited by speed on the boundary... He's undersized for the outside without having the physical abilities to make up for it... But his instincts and physicality thrive in the slot Some players are just made for a spot... And Johnson is perfect for the modern slot Dane Jackson played on an island at Pittsburgh a good amount... And was able to play the boundary physically while sticking in most receivers hips You just can't stick football players into any technique or position and think they will thrive because they're good at a similar one

All degenerates must report at least once a week so we know who's still alive

Was Elam ok or could the Giants just not take advantage of him?

I do have a soft spot for my University at Buffalo players.. I'm always here to talk up my boy cam But unless he's lost all of his confidence.. he's better than Ingram -
Thank you for sticking around
